Listening Tips:
- If you're an absolute beginner and don't feel confident yet:
1. Listen with English CC so that you know the overall contents
2. Listen without subtitles: as you know the contents, it'll be easier to listen!
3. Turn on Korean CC: check the Korean words and grammar forms.
4. If you want, listen again without subtitles!
- If you're somewhat confident and want to test your listening skills:
1. Listen without subtitles to check how much you can understand
2. Turn on Korean CC: study the parts you didn't catch the first time
3. Turn off Korean CC and listen to the part you missed at your first try
4. If necessary, turn on English to double check your comprehension

Listening and speaking are challenging when we learn new languages, so it's totally understandable. Just re-watch it: with KOR sub, with ENG sub, and then with no sub. If you don't understand a specific part, look up the word of the grammar pattern and then study those before you watch it again. 😀

Hey! I’m VERY interested in 한극,and the culture is BEAUTIFUL! Do you have any tips for reading, learning the vowels, Cause I’m really struggling with memorizing some, and pronunciation? 😘
Thank you for your interest in Korean! :) It's hard to give you detailed tips in the comment, but if you like Korean TV shows, definitely watch them to hear native speakers' pronunciation. Turning on Korean captions can help you familiarize the sounds with the alphabets as well. If there are words you want to know in Korean, try to write them in 한글(Hangul), maybe one word a day. Look up a word in Korean then copy how they look.
I know there are many wonderful RUclips Korean lessons, but if you're interested, here's my video for the vowels. Hopefully understanding the principles can help you memorize them better.

You can come up with ways to associate the shape of the letter with the sound it makes. When I taught my daughter we used this:
아 the little stick on the side is a diving board that you jump off and say "Ahhhhhh!"
어 is a kid with his tongue stuck to a pole.
오 oak tree
우 stool
이 pin that you poke someone with and they say "Eeeee!"
으 is hitting someone in the stomach.
애 and 에 are goal posts. Originally we said that if you make the goal you say "Aaay!" and if you miss it you say "Eh." But these are pronounced pretty much the same these days.
For the compound vowels you just have to get the hang of them, but most of them are pretty logical. Like 와 is 오 and 아, and if you say "oh-ah" quickly and smush the sounds together it sounds like "wa." The only one that doesn't work that way is 외, which looks like it would say "wee" but says "weh" instead. We call that one the webbel ("rebel" with a w) because it makes the wrong sound ("weh"). And it kind of looks like a little guy with a spear.

Making your own associations is handsdown one of the best tricks. Also, those associations don’t need make sense to others, as long as it makes sense to yourself, right? 😊
