- Taking a look at flying the CL-13B Mk.6 in War Thunder, the plane made famous as AI controlled cannon fodder in air battles.

Fun fact: The default JG 71 "Richthofen" skin is inspired by WWII fighter ace Erich Hartmann, otherwise known as the Black Tulip. The pattern around the nose and tail is from his distinctive Bf 109 during the war. When he flew in the post-war air force, and even after his death, the whole squadron adopted the pattern to honor him.
Bonus fun fact: He was basically kicked out of the Luftwaffe because he spoke out against the F-104, and they got him on a technicality of forgetting to renew his license, and because they didn't like him using the WWII livery on his planes.
Because that is his livery. His name is on the nose.

I remember the good ol days, when the CL13 was the most dominant jet full stop. No missiles either back then
I wouldn't describe those days as "good" by any measure. CL13's were so dominant that the only thing that stood a chance against them was a well flown Hunter or MiG-17. American Sabers and MiG-15's were hopelessly outmatched in everyway by them and winning a match came down to if the Germans were on your team or not.

These sabre is really fun in custom battles but i wont took it out to real RB because br compression if this was 9.0 it'll be so much fun
Considering what flies at 9.7, this should be 9.3 minimum, and the Mk.5 should be 9.0
Given that the F9F-8 is at 8.7 and is considered somewhat underpowered, I think this would need to go down to 8.7 as well
I always liked the old afterburner effects on all the jets in 2017
Both CL.13 are the most overtiered jets in WT, only the Huter F.6 gets close but at least that one gets SRAAM
The recent Sabre changes mean taking the boosters is worth it now. Ripping occurs if you snap roll above 1050kph, and basically no where else.
Most late jets should be at BR 15 by now. Long live the Sabers and Mig-15-17s!
Don't forget you got like a very small chance to dodge a 30g missile fired from a a10. Because for some reason they have the same br.

Man you should consider doing a guide on the sabre family like the one you did with the Harrier since many of em have little to none difference but at the same time feel oddly different to fly

The funny thing about these top end Sabres is that most players don’t actually know how to dogfight at this BR. It’s actually comical
Three comments.
1) As of January 2023 this aircarft sits at 9.3 BR in RB, not 9.7 so it must have been dropped at some stage.
2) How long before Gaijin makes the radar gunsight useful in RB ? This really was a useful tool for the aircraft that historically had it so it would be great to see it used in game. If they want to show the difference between iron sights, manually adjusted lead indicators, gyrostabilised sight and radr gunsights all they need to do is make varying qualities and accuracies of lead indicators, from barely there to full on Arcade style lead circles.
3) How long before we finally see the AIM-4 Falcon in game ? This missile was used by a lot of US and overseas export users and would make a fine alternative to the old AIM-9B.
Well on the BR being at 9.3, that still puts it at the same BR as the USAF F-104's, the Lighting, and the first Soviet MiG-21, so it's an improvement, but not a huge one. Based off the recent Q&A, they are actually working on implementing the radar gun sights in third person, but gave no timeframe on that. As for the AIM-4, no news on that either, and idk the arguments against it just feels dismissive. Yeah it kinda sucked as a dogfight weapon, but so did most early missiles, like the sparrows, and we have those. It'd also allow a lot more planes to be in the game, like the rest of the century series (I really wish I could fly the 101 or 106) and honestly I don't care if it's crap. We have loads of crap missiles in the game but the planes that get them are generally still usable.
The br is now 9.0 :)
If your having trouble downing aircraft with the guns I would recommend using the ground target belts.

My favourite jet by far. I don't mind it's BR either because it isn't challenged in its close range dogfighting performance by anything at all.
Funny story: shit talker in a mig-19s was running his mouth in an Air RB. buddy of mine got challenged to a 1v1 in proceeded to dominate him 7 to 2 (first to 7 kills wins). Still styles on people in games to this day with that thing.
With hvars turn your jet sideways before you fire, it's still hard to aim but any saber has a fantastic roll rate to help with this
I like it, it forces you to master defensive flying and can take mig21 and f5c in dogfights if you can bait them in to it
I want the CAC Sabre in the UK tree with the 2x 30mm Aiden. Shame the sabre gets the short end of the stick with BR
To me the CL 13 will always be the most annoying top tier jet, ahh the good old days
I believe that it is 9.0 now rather than 9.7 so it is a fairer fight for it❤
I don't know what it is about this sabre, but i always find myself doing pretty well in it (79k/33d, 58%wr), despite being slower than everyone else. Probably one of the most fun planes in the game for me.
Honestly these Sabres should be at 9.0 at most. 9.7 is way too high for a subsonic plane with only 12.7s. The J35A sits at the same BR yet its almost better in every single way. More missiles, way way faster, turns better and accelerates better, and of course it's premium.
I just want to say 8.3 BR IS RIDICULOUS RIGHT NOW
It's out classed by literally everything in its br except maybe the Lightning.

@@whiskersthecatboi No idea why it hasn’t been added. It’s literally a F-40 Sabre (roughly similar performance) with ADENS. Honestly I think they should just add a commonwealth tech tree. You could put all 5 vehicle types in it. And 75% of it would just be copy paste. So very easy.

fun fact: israel actually almost bought CL-13B Mk.6 sabres, but canceled the order right before it went thru. hopefully we can get the aircraft in the tree, seeing how the sweedish got apaches and mi28As they never even entered to fly.

Wow I haven't heard that plane be mentioned ever since it got taken off the store; iirc it was a pretty meh plane, especially compared to its peers at the time. But I would also like to see a video on that.

Hey tim, have you thought of trying out DCS? Personally ive quit playing WT, ive been playing since 2013 and quite honestly the game just isnt anything like it used to be and i find it frustrating at best to enjoy WT. However DCS is very fun and honestly pretty easy to figure out once you've done a few training missions for whatever module. I think it would be cool to see some DCS content on this channel as your whole way of doing things is explaining in laymens terms.
Just a thought, regardless, keep up the good work man.
