depends who you ask. No one is translating Apocrypha volume 5 , and canonrap basically abandoned his apocrypha translation on Vol 3 as well as a few others. While id like to say that its cool there were these people who translated as much as they did, in a way translating and abandoning is worse, because it wasn't picked up by other translators because they were translating, so they basically screwed up Apocrypha translation.
At least Seig's powers didn't come out of nowhere and never got explained like the MC of Extra (forgot his name). We get to experience how Seig ended up earning his powers, plus I actually think he has a better personality and goal than Extra guy, who "hates everyone and everything".
What?? Hakuno never got any power from nowhere, and they don't "have everyone and everything", that's not what happens in Extra at all wtf 5 years later I know
First off, and I know this is the unpopular opinion, but Apocrypha was probably my favorite in the Fate franchise thus far. So I'm really glad to see that it's getting some attention, beyond criticism. Second, I really, really liked this video, and can't wait to see more! If I weren't already a subscriber, I definitely would be after seeing this, so keep up the good work!
its great, i like almost like everything about it..... ...its just that Sieg is trash, the best characters Mordred and Kairi died when they deserved a better a role, Sieg has 12 inch thick plot armour, the final fight had no meaning or weight behind it - they're just fighting cuz they're last ones left unlike in Zero or Stay Night, and personally i didn't like Jeanne or the majority of the characters and the characters i did like - Shakespeare and Karna just so happened to be on the side of the antagonist and it became so obvious they weren't going to win

So apocrypha's setting is very dumb. First of all let me say Sorry for my broken english. I really like you videos. I like the lore of FSN, kara no kyoukai and tsukihime. But when it comes to the nasuvers spin-offs i'm totally in oposition to them, cause sometimes they tend to break their own rules and fictional lore creating a lot of plot wholes. Specially apocrypha. Cause there is a lot of people all over the web who are new to the lore of fsn and/or are casual viewers that wont take their to do research...and check the facts. I digress...at last thet end up treating this show as cannon, not realizing that its a spin off, just becouse they saw or read some references to FSN does not mean this is cannon Anyway... Back to apocrypha So let me catch whats going on. The original idea for the heaven's feel ritual was to make seven mages work together to open a path to the root. But the G- grails security system is to call more mages and their heroic spirits to prevent exactly that? Why? I know that is to prevent any mage from stealing the g-grail....but wouldnt have be better if just summon a servant instead to protect and retreve it to fuyuki? Becouse eventually was'nt that the main reasson why the ruler class was summon for? wasnt that her job to begin with? Another question is why didnt alaya or gaia actted against this mage dude who stole the G-grail? Isn't he gathering too much power for a human soul and putting in risk the lives of many people and entyre countries for he not to be consider a threat to the world? Then again this is a spinoff but it bothers me that people is putting the show into a high and as soon as someone points them out some faults in the show comparing it to fsn they instantly attacking you. Followed by them thowing critisism in how the fsn lore and rules does not make sense acording to apocrypha story. What the hell? Are they crazy? Thanks for your help and attention.
I really loved Fate/Apocrypha! My friend is a huge Fate fanboy and even tho he hates this series I still very much enjoyed the high octane ride regardless of the harsh criticisms from the fandom.
As a Chrono Cross multiple ending completionist, I love contorted and twisty tales. But Apocrypha send me for an unpleasant loop. There were many things I didn’t understand, but the battles were SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKK!!!!! Your expose here has greatly explained a lot of what happened. Thank you!!
Yeah, starting with Apocrypha and now going into Extra Last Encore, the anime seem to be using Servants that show up in Fate/Grand Order whenever possible. We got Fionn here, Medea Lily later on in a flashback, and Fergus, Darius III, Leonidas, Suzuka Gozen (though it really only showed her shadow), and Fuma Kotaro in Last Encore. Oh and we're getting Scathach in Extella Link, of course!
@Garret The LN never specifies who Darnic’s servant was during the Third Holy Grail War. It was decided that Darnic’s servant would be Fionn by Higashide himself during the anime’s production (the staff also suggested Beowulf (probably manifesting as a Rider as Saber was already taken by the Edefelt sisters, and the Berserker slot was replaced by Ruler) or Tristan)
Dayyyum, great work as always. So easy to follow. I just finished Apocrypha this past week and for me it was mostly a struggle. The action and animation was up to par but I felt the plot and particularly the dialogue was just weak. While I'm still really not a fan of the script, your vid helped a lot. Fate has soooo much hidden lore that's not shown in the anime. This makes me appreciate this series a lot more. Looking forward to the rest of your series!
This sounds weird but I wrote the script and then went back to the anime for visuals and found that it actually does have most of this info built in. I felt like I missed a lot on my first viewing.
OtakuDaiKun Oh I was talking about the anime's script! Not yours! You do an amazing job explaining things. I was saying I really wasn't a fan of this particular series' script. Character dialogue just felt weird and kind of inorganic to me.
We got some new info thanks to the F/A collab like Darnic using the souls of babies and the Einzbern having found Siegfried Das Rheingold explains why the Einzbern can never do anything right since the treasure has a huge curse on it
So thankful you posted this, I definitely respect the series more with the background information. I had no idea that this was on a separate timeline. Still, it think the series had more potential than it ended up portraying.
Hey Dai, after the Apocrypha Vids, do you think you can do a video about Dead Apostles, specifically the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors like ORT and Primate Murder? There might not be alot of info on some of them, but it might be a good idea to elaborate on them and the standard abilities of Dead Apostles.
Wow, this makes the Fate/Apocrypha's story and characters seem way more interesting than how it was presented in the anime. I wish we could have gotten more time to truly flesh out these characters.
My thoughts as to how Waver still inherited the title of Lord El Melloi: One of the factors which led him to take the title was Archibald's sister having a rather obsessive focus on him. Let's assume Archibald (who, let's face it, was a middling mage by comparison to his peers, and relied too heavily on his magic crest for power, which is why he and Waver butted heads so much) continued his plans to marry Sola-Ui continued. His jealousy was not due to Diarmuid's spot, but his own insecurity after all. That jealousy would exist in this timeline as well. It would not be hard to imagine dozens of scenarios which would have led him down a path of self destruction. The same factors would exist for Reines, so she turned to her brother's most promising student, the one her brother rejected the ideals of, as an opportunity for advancement. Combine his natural magecraft with the Archibald line, and the logic to the proposal remains. She is not above creating leverage to force him to act in her favor, after all.
Looks like I finished Fate Apocrypha just in time! Great synopsis so far! Yeah, I was confused on Waver being there too. Compounding the issue is the scene at the end where he looks at the piece of Rider's mantle in a box. The best I can think of now is that you mentioned various failed attempts to recreate the Grail War around the world, and he was a part of one of those along with Kayneth...
I really gotta watch kara no kyokai again, I remember almost nothing from the show and Im not even sure if I saw all the movies or even in the right order
Yeah it's a bit confusing honestly. This Vlad is always very composed and regal, where as Lancer Vlad from Fate/Extra is just insane, but both Apocrypha's and Extra's Vlad reject the story of Dracula. Then Grand Order comes out with Apocrypha's Vlad design, but as a Berserker and embracing the Dracula stories while still being his regal self, then they release Extra Vlad as a Lancer who looks like a Berserker and acts like a Berserker but isn't and also still rejects the Dracula stories. I can't help but wonder if they had made the mechanic they use for Jekyll where his NP is to transform into Berserker Hyde if they'd have made that Apocrypha Vlad's NP instead.
Of all the pictures for the Atlas Academy lol Also yeah, it's too bad there isn't some way for youtube to allow creators to make some kind of notes on their videos for updates and such. Some kind of...annotations. This is half sarcasm, last I heard you can add annotations when uploading a video but can't add later anymore because of the automatic end card system recommending other videos, which is stupid.
Question: If the grail needs 6-7 servants to be activated then the Apocrypha´s Great War doesn't need 13-14 or it does need them? And also from what i can remember in Fate/Zero Kirei told Gilgamesh that the Grail needed all 7 servants to be killed for the grail to grant the wish so, Was he liying?
17:36 I understand that is what Rocco Belfaban believed Kairi wanted. But I thought Kairi Sisigou's wish was always to bring his dead daughter back to life.
I Always though that Fran was actually frankenstein. Not the first monster, but the second one, created from the dead body of Frankenstein wife. It make sense for me, you know, she was killed at their marriage, hence why she is in a wedding robe. It's also why she is named Frankenstein, this is a family name she gained by marrying the doctor.
Love the video. The only thing I'm trying to reconcile right now is that if I recall at the end of Apocrypha Waver still has the catalyst which summoned Iskander in the 4th Grail War. That implies to me that Fate Zero did indeed happen, and placing this timeline as being close to if not simultaneous with Stay Night, or am I missing something here?
Fate/Zero didn't happen since the grail was stolen during the 3rd war and was never corrupted either by Angry Mango, it is believed that Waver and Kayneth participated in a sub grail war where Kayneth still died and Waver still summoned Iskandar but lost
15:11 I find it confusing too. How Waver sitll became Lord el melloi II maybe fourth holy grail war happened, but due some 2nd magic experiment things were altered?? Kinda like Rin did in Fate/hollow ataraxia causing all timelines of Fate to merge into one?
I hated Seig, thought ruler was a Mary sue, and would've loved to see more back story on Astfolo instead " Hey, he's a trap." The best things in the show were either swept to the side or died early on. Mordred, Achilles, Atlanta, Jack, Fran deserved way more screen time. Should've kept Mordred as the MC for the Red team and Fran for the black team. Also on a side note would've loved to see mordred talk/fight with Jeanne because she has the same face as Arthur.
FxCalibur2514 I understand your reasoning but definitely don't feel the same. I never felt like Sieg was a self insert. Plot armor didn't really bother me since they just could have not killed him in the first place. At least in Fran's case.
OtakuDaiKun I just thought he was insanely boring when put next to everyone else, and it really detracted from the overall story for me. Dunno I liked the charismatic wayward son in Mordred, and preferred her journey in learning how to be king. In regards to Fran, I felt that there was more to be resolved/discovered about her, other than being a get out of jail free card and a one time power up in the second to last episode. Good videos btw, will you do an analysis video on the Grand Order Arcade game?
FxCalibur2514 Character development and being interesting doesn't automatically equal you being a main Character. A Main Character has to drive and posses the Ability to lpve the Plot into the direction or more or less lead the others to said direction to the plot, something Mordred and Frank didn't. M in Character affect the main plot more than non main characters, that's why Jeanne and Sieg are main Characters, because they move the plot, even if the latter might be not as "interesting as others". Mordred would have draged the plot to her drama down and has not the right determination to fight the main villian except to "prove herself" while Frank is not all that interesting and really hasn't much of a influence of the plot unlike Sieg. There is a reason why he is the main character.
I will agree that Sieg wasn't that interesting personality-wise, but saying he's not important is a little extreme. His character arc is about a homunculus trying to learn what it means to be alive; to be human. He gets to witness to goodness of humanity through characters like Jeanne and Siegfried, yet he also sees their darker side through Jack and, to an extent, Avicebron. This all leads to Sieg determining that there is still hope for humanity in-spite of their faults, which contrasts with Amakusa's philosophy that humanity can only be saved by being forced to "ascend" into the Greater Grail. Is he a perfect protagonist? No. Does he survive through a lot of BS? Yes, but that's hardly new for Fate protagonists. *Glances at Shirou* Overall, I feel like people knock Sieg and Apocrypha way too hard sometimes.
Mordred's arc could've tied better into Shirou's endgame, cause Shirou experienced the worst of humanity and wanted to save people because at the end of the day he gave on people's futures and didn't expect people to change, not a bad philosophy for a final boss. Now how does Mordred counter this, first she is the worst humanity has to offer and the opposite to Shirou in almost every way. She's loud, vulgar and above all else Selfish in her desire to be king. The story could've focused more on her reasoning for being the way she is and on how she, a homunculus born for the purpose to do evil and a limited lifespan, could eventually turn around do good. How a Knight of Rebellion could change into a Knight of Redemption, showing that even the worst of people have hope to change and that she's proof of it. Ultimately culminating in her giving up her dream for the hope that humanity can get better, changing Shirou's perspective and finally gaining a seat at her father's side in Avalon. I know I'm hard on Seig, the idea of having a dude turn into a servant is cool, but having him die twice, giving him two power ups, a servant, and being sheilded by ruler all the damn time even though she's supposed be neutral is bs. Besides that he's boring, what all makes him qualified to decide humanities fate? Yeah he saw jack's past (her only reason for being in the show was to make him feel slightly uncomfortable and is never brought up again, even in the finale), but does that make him qualified or better yet interesting. Sieg was about one thing from the start "I want to save people because a stranger saved me."Does he ever change alignments, think about what it means to kill, or debate the human soul for more than five minutes, naw or at least not enough to make us remember it. At least Shirou didn't die twice, at least his ideology backfired and give us the best boi in EMIYA archer, and at least when he uses archer's arm if kills him little by little and doesn't turn him into an stoppable dragon, that can still become human again because how else is he gonna bang Jeanne. (I know it sounds like I hated the end but I liked the two of them getting together that part was cool). In the end I don't hate hate Seig, I just hate that we got cliched protagonist guy #12 versus an anti-hero turned good guy in Mordred. Don't take this like I'm angry or nothing I like discussing this stuff with educated people
I don't k ow what that video you have playing in the background is (the one with the crystal command seals). It's beautiful. Can someone link me a live wallpaper or at least tell me where to get it?
According to mahoyo, the third , second and fourth magic weren't gained from reaching the root but rather as a way to reach it . As in researching hard enough to reach the very concept of the magecraft you are looking into and that concept is the true magic . The fifth and 1st magic were gained from entering a path to the root.
It's nothing no one hasn't mentioned already. The potential good ideas were there and every servant has a background to them but they're not really executed in a way that expresses them in how you're explaining them so far. lore and characterization are 2 different factors especially when only mordred and vlad have ever really shown they were set on aiming for the grail while the others except astolfo mention their goals, their overall actions don't really show they were set on going for them. Astolfo while is a character that stood out a lot the problem with him is that he never really had what's goal for him in this story like the author had no idea where he wanted to go with the character.
Freddy Gutierrez Well Astolfo's lore is that his sense of reason is missing and he's extremely impulsive. He doesn't really want the grail so much as the chance to keep making a difference in the world. He's one of my favorite characters in Apocrypha. Siegfried realizes part way that he doesn't need the grail to accomplish his wishes. That said there are a lot of heroes like Achilles and Karna who don't really care about the grail at all. Karna just wants to be loyal and fight Sieg because he reminds him of Arjuna. Achilles just wants to keep living bravely without running from a fight, and later to settle things with Chiron. It's kinda like how Gilles De Rais, upon seeing Artoria, couldn't care less about the grail and just wanted to pursue his obsession with Jeanne.
Yeah that kind of really adds all the more contradiction or rather doesn't really make the story any more compelling since there wasn't as much drama or argument to their wants. like it literally felt like and that reply really just makes this story all the more lazily written like the author had no idea where he wanted to go with all of this. like he just added all this then he realizes he doesn't know how to handle all of that and just went for a shonen style battle story where somehow one of the laziest written protagonists gets the girl in a lazier way than the Twilight series.
Is there really a way to write Sieg to be more compelling? I hear all of the complaints, but is there really a way to portray a character with like 2 weeks of life experience into a realistic yet compelling protagonist? If not, the criticism should really be directed to the concept, not the character himself.
Not just limited time to live, I can refer to terminal illness dramas for that. But I’m also referring to characters that are born basically fully adult like the homunculus of Fate, yet audiences seem to expect them to act like fully matured adults with no prior life experiences. That’s how I make sense of Sieg’s naïve character anyways. That’s also how I kind of make sense of Jeanne’s romance for him, since you don’t find naïve yet pure ideals from someone that “age”, that and her inexperience with romance in life made this development fit thematically from how I interpreted things. Probably still not the best way to write it, but hey, it made sense to me.
Julian Mora I will but the way it's being released makes it hard for me to grasp the entire story. I'd rather not rely completely on wiki entries and summaries of the JP content.
Won't be long now, America singularity is just about to be released and everything outside of the lore about Outer Gods and Foreigner class should either be explained or introduced in the story by the end of the year.
Apocrypha is more my style of Grail war. Having it basically be one. Giant. Chess match each side equally matched. But only with the slightest differences in abilities for some. However if you make even ONE wrong move....... It's game over.
No the Outer Gods and the Foreigner class associated with them also definitely come from Akasha. What makes the Outer Gods outsiders is that they originate from outside the current universe time tree.
Raum in his conversation with Zepar said, that he will use beings that exist nowhere in "this" universe, not even in adjacent worlds. So yeah, Outer Gods exist outside the Root. And one of them, Yog-Sothoth, is even described by Lavinia as something akin the Akasha. Basically, the Outer Gods don't exist in the Nasuverse, they're summoned from the Lovecraft universe.
Each Tree of Time is its own universe though and its hinted that there are multiple such trees. Thus either there are multiple Akasha as the root of each tree or all the trees/universe originate from Akasha. Also story-telling wise it wouldn't make sense to introduce an antagonistic power that dwarfs all other known forces to such an insane degree, I mean we aren't even done dealing with the Beasts yet.
"not even in adjacent worlds" Adjacent Worlds means different branches of the Tree of Time, so Outer Gods exist outside of it (not to mention that even in Nasuverse there're things that exist outside of the Tree of Time - the Throne of Heroes for example). And the Outer Gods aren't an antagonistic force, they just "exist". Yes, they have a slight interest in Akasha, because it's something "new" to them, but nothing else. Entire Raum's plot was to summon one of them, because just their existence is enough to fuck up everything.
I got very confused when at the ending we saw waver with the shred of iskandar’s clothes. Does that mean that in one of the small grail wars that you mentioned the story of lord el melloi ll occured in a similar est like in the original universe?
Dai if the fourth holy grail war didn’t happen then how and why does Waver have a piece of Iskandar’s cape that was used as a catalyst and him feeling nostalgia when he sees it at the end of the Apocrypha anime?
Atelier God In the Apocrypha timeline, hundreds of mini Holy Grail Wars erupted across the world. So it is easily possible that Waver participated in one of these, during which he summoned Iskander as his Servant.
Donovan Larsen what would the chances be unless it was very much like the fourth holy grail war and then lord el-Melloi would have to be the in the same war which as you said with over a hundred is a very Slim chance.
In Apocrypha, El-Melloi still obviously wanted to participate in a holy grail war, but because there was no fourth war, he participated in a Subcategory war (a lesser grail war, not the false war of strange fake). Waver also got involved and summoned Iskandar in similar circumstances to Fate/Zero. It's not that unbelievable since the only thing that changed is the war.
the blue psycho Not sure. Zero never happened so it’s possible Rin’s father is still alive. The Matou pretty much died so I don’t know what that means for Sakura.
No. Vlad's ability to turn vampire is because of legends and stories about vampires, whereas dead apostles are creatures that actually exist in the Nasuverse.
In Apocrypha timeline Waver and Kayneth participated in a Subcategory Holy Grail War. Waver summoned Broskandar and probably won, while Kayneth died.
He didn't win
@ I really dont care about that all I care about us the fact that no matter the universe Waver and Broskandar's bond is tied and unbreakable
Waver participated but did NOT win.
Also, it's propably best to imagine "fate zero" as a subcategory holy grail war in the "apocrypha" timeline.

I can understand that

As he states, his Noble Phantasm is the concept of impalment itself.

He is able to form spikes from all material arround him.
Including but not limited to the following.
Stone, wood, plants, soil, flesh, bone, muscle, hair and of course blood.
He actually demonstrates it in the anime in his battle with Karna when he summons spikes from within Karna's body.
Dark-Slayer I get to that a bit later actually. Your description is still more detailed though.
finally! now I've understand better why there's 14 servants and what timeline branch it split from the main time line.
Waver was in a lesser war with Iskander and killed lord El melloi
They did say there were lesser grail wars over the world he's probably referring to that.
In the main continuity yes but in the Apocrypha universe a lesser war was fought with some changes.
in fate apocrypha timeline
@@jgfjgfify He did not kill lord El Melloi. At least I do not believe he did (it doesn't suit his character). However it is a fact that Waver participated with Iskandar in the same grail war that lord El Melloi Archibald died in, just like in "fate zero".

ah right, the video did say "part 1", how sily of me
Phan Minh Khôi The entire 4 part special is almost 2 hours long.
FOUR?! That's some bad luck there, Dai.
Good, the Lair is still respected amongst the fandom.
depends who you ask.
X Scythe Yeah. Last Encore is a piece of work.
bruh Sieg is utter trash, Hakuno is my one of my favourite Fate protagonists
What?? Hakuno never got any power from nowhere, and they don't "have everyone and everything", that's not what happens in Extra at all wtf
5 years later I know
Jeanne ! She deserves so much more
hated her
First off, and I know this is the unpopular opinion, but Apocrypha was probably my favorite in the Fate franchise thus far. So I'm really glad to see that it's getting some attention, beyond criticism. Second, I really, really liked this video, and can't wait to see more! If I weren't already a subscriber, I definitely would be after seeing this, so keep up the good work!
KiloD I don't get the Apocrypha hate either. I'd like to think people have been spoiled by ufotable.
its great, i like almost like everything about it.....
...its just that Sieg is trash, the best characters Mordred and Kairi died when they deserved a better a role, Sieg has 12 inch thick plot armour, the final fight had no meaning or weight behind it - they're just fighting cuz they're last ones left unlike in Zero or Stay Night, and personally i didn't like Jeanne or the majority of the characters and the characters i did like - Shakespeare and Karna just so happened to be on the side of the antagonist and it became so obvious they weren't going to win

So apocrypha's setting is very dumb.
First of all let me say
Sorry for my broken english.
I digress...at last thet end up treating this show as cannon, not realizing that its a spin off, just becouse they saw or read some references to FSN does not mean this is cannon
Anyway...
Back to apocrypha
So let me catch whats going on.
Mordred links to the Jeanne d'Arc video
@@ghostfreak1 Thank you! I'll fix that.
I really loved Fate/Apocrypha! My friend is a huge Fate fanboy and even tho he hates this series I still very much enjoyed the high octane ride regardless of the harsh criticisms from the fandom.
I-CON ELITE My sentiments exactly^^
As a Chrono Cross multiple ending completionist, I love contorted and twisty tales. But Apocrypha send me for an unpleasant loop. There were many things I didn’t understand, but the battles were SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKK!!!!! Your expose here has greatly explained a lot of what happened. Thank you!!
EMIYA, Gilgamesh and Chiron are the Archer gods
Kotomine Shirou Nah, Alcides is the God of Archers. Oh, wai... BOOM!
Shiro Tokisada Amakusa.......we meet again....how have you been uncle?
Kotomine Shirou The flu got me and i've been coighing up slime for about 2 weeks. But otherwise fine. And you?
I am doing decent. Fighting to obtain the holy grail and wish for global peace and happiness for all.
Kotomine Shirou I heard there was some turmoil in America... you wouldn't happen to know about that?
9:45 You know who stands behind Darnic? It's your favorite 4* Lancer, Finn McCool! :P
Garett Oh damn. I didn't know that.
Rukifellth Hell yeah. I can't wait to play as Shishou.
Actually, Fionn was mentioned as a Darnic's Servant in a LN, long before FGO.
OtakuDaiKun
Oh I was talking about the anime's script! Not yours! You do an amazing job explaining things. I was saying I really wasn't a fan of this particular series' script. Character dialogue just felt weird and kind of inorganic to me.
OtakuDaiKun I'm sure I missed plenty of stuff in my one watch through though. 😆
Jesse Borda Oh I only meant that in the end the anime is a surprisingly accurate adaptation.
10:05 It seems DaiKun is also part of the Fate universe XD
I also personally really like Fate/Apocrypha.
Darnic thought his team was op but he severely underestimated the relics that London had
Wow, this makes the Fate/Apocrypha's story and characters seem way more interesting than how it was presented in the anime. I wish we could have gotten more time to truly flesh out these characters.
Lincoln Beckett-Scott Yes. Most all the information is there in the anime but it still feels rushed.
The sheer depth you are diving into this has absolutely earned you a sub my man!
I finally finished Fate Apocrypha and My Gods it was a LOT Better than I expected it to Be I'm so glad I GOT IN TO THE FATE SERIES
Me when seeing Darnic's appearance and knowing his servant's association with vampire lore: Roa?!
My thoughts as to how Waver still inherited the title of Lord El Melloi:
One of the factors which led him to take the title was Archibald's sister having a rather obsessive focus on him.
Fate Apocrypha! Hell yeah!
Awesome video thank for these, the anime already seems much more interesting with this added info
No Mingyu Indeed. Many of the other comments here have clarified that.
OtakuDaiKun ...Oops. Sorry for not checking those before commenting.
No Mingyu No worries. I only mentioned it to possibly date your curiosity.
19:36 you're wrong, actually shirou accidentally summons saber using magic circle built by irisviel in fate zero
That's why I said "the circle doesn't even have to be theirs" because Shirou summoned Saber with an old circle he didn't make.
I really like your voice and how you explained everything it nothing I not know but it just nice to listen to
This is so thorough! It's amazing!
You know what left me unsatisfied with apocrypha? Siegs plot armor. It was so thick it would turn Kirito green with envy.
Sieg was trash
thank you very much, this is a amazing work
Great Vídeo As Always Daí
Thank you for these videos!
this is truly amazing
Dude you should contact type moon and ask if you can write their equivalent of Nintendo's hyrule historia
Liam Faulds That would be cool.
Its funny i just got done with fate apocrypha today. Also i love the nod to iscandar at the end.
I really gotta watch kara no kyokai again, I remember almost nothing from the show and Im not even sure if I saw all the movies or even in the right order
Love how Garden Of Sinners is Cannon in the same universe as one of the Fate anime’s
Awesome lore video, and happy Pi Day!
Neko!! In Fate!! And Atalanta!! she mine!! I love her and I was sad when she dies.. nope i go her in my world now! She my Goddesses Neko!
Looking forward to part 2
great video as away
HEYYY WAITED FOR SO LONG! AND FIRST BTW! Thanks DaiKun!
As lancer Vlad rejects the Dracula stories, but as berserker he accepts it.
Of all the pictures for the Atlas Academy lol
Also yeah, it's too bad there isn't some way for youtube to allow creators to make some kind of notes on their videos for updates and such. Some kind of...annotations. This is half sarcasm, last I heard you can add annotations when uploading a video but can't add later anymore because of the automatic end card system recommending other videos, which is stupid.
Rukifellth I'd love a feature to just completely replace the audio track. Their audioswap doesn't do that.
I can only imagine how grand this series would have been under Ufotable.
at this time you must stop thinking this is like the real world its all magecraft is normal now baby
thanks for your work :D
3:36 the music
MisterChief53 Good 'ol visual novel.
Achilles was my favorite when I watched this series for the third time. It was Karna but nothing much was said about him in the anime which is sad
Prototype Fragments have some extra info regarding Clarent and places an exact time when Mordred claimed it. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest it.
Shaifs More like I'm obligated to now lol
17:36 I understand that is what Rocco Belfaban believed Kairi wanted. But I thought Kairi Sisigou's wish was always to bring his dead daughter back to life.
You're right, but he keeps that to himself.
I Always though that Fran was actually frankenstein. Not the first monster, but the second one, created from the dead body of Frankenstein wife. It make sense for me, you know, she was killed at their marriage, hence why she is in a wedding robe. It's also why she is named Frankenstein, this is a family name she gained by marrying the doctor.
maxentirunos Yeah, but Fate loves those genderbends.
How Waver sitll became Lord el melloi II
maybe fourth holy grail war happened, but due some 2nd magic experiment things were altered??
Kinda like Rin did in Fate/hollow ataraxia causing all timelines of Fate to merge into one?
I hated Seig, thought ruler was a Mary sue, and would've loved to see more back story on Astfolo instead " Hey, he's a trap."
The best things in the show were either swept to the side or died early on.
I would give my Life for them❤️🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧❤️👆
Um Can I have a request?? Can you do Amakusa Shiro's Lore fate?? Thanks in advance... 😊😀😀
He's gonna be in Part 2 and will later get his own video like all the servants.
OtakuDaiKun Thanks!!!! I love him actually and also Semiramis...
Took you long enough to start a lore on apocrypha. 😊
According to mahoyo, the third , second and fourth magic weren't gained from reaching the root but rather as a way to reach it . As in researching hard enough to reach the very concept of the magecraft you are looking into and that concept is the true magic . The fifth and 1st magic were gained from entering a path to the root.
Nice video, and also you can you explain the lore of Fate Kaleid Prisma....I somewhat lost between the the seasons if you can 🤗
Kou Yang I definitely will. I'm just waiting to see it conclude.
If not, the criticism should really be directed to the concept, not the character himself.
oddly enough yes. since most movies and other short run shows and anime had a similar concept of a character with a limited time to live.
I have a request would you do a Lore video on Fate/Grand Order?
Julian Mora I will but the way it's being released makes it hard for me to grasp the entire story. I'd rather not rely completely on wiki entries and summaries of the JP content.
Won't be long now, America singularity is just about to be released and everything outside of the lore about Outer Gods and Foreigner class should either be explained or introduced in the story by the end of the year.
Oh sorry for asking, but when are you going to do a lore on 100 face Hassan?
Waver participate in another grail war and summoned Alexander.
I see. Strange how that gets alluded to so subtly.
Such a sexy voice, makes me so excited listening to the story telling
Thank you^^
Remember when servants only had one noble phantasm? Neither do I
Apocrypha is more my style of Grail war. Having it basically be one. Giant. Chess match each side equally matched. But only with the slightest differences in abilities for some. However if you make even ONE wrong move....... It's game over.
The lost Ones ranger Yeah tho sadly every grail war we've seen has some corrupt bullshit happening behind the scenes so it's never a fair competition.
Technically, not everything originate from the Root, because outside of Akasha dwell Outer Gods.
"not even in adjacent worlds"
Adjacent Worlds means different branches of the Tree of Time, so Outer Gods exist outside of it (not to mention that even in Nasuverse there're things that exist outside of the Tree of Time - the Throne of Heroes for example).
And the Outer Gods aren't an antagonistic force, they just "exist". Yes, they have a slight interest in Akasha, because it's something "new" to them, but nothing else. Entire Raum's plot was to summon one of them, because just their existence is enough to fuck up everything.
Nice, very nice
I got very confused when at the ending we saw waver with the shred of iskandar’s clothes. Does that mean that in one of the small grail wars that you mentioned the story of lord el melloi ll occured in a similar est like in the original universe?
gruntKILLERable Yes, it’s implied waver participated in a smaller war in Apocrypha.
I just ordered the manga In Japanese and I am going to try and translate it
This is the reason I am learning Japanese
Dai if the fourth holy grail war didn’t happen then how and why does Waver have a piece of Iskandar’s cape that was used as a catalyst and him feeling nostalgia when he sees it at the end of the Apocrypha anime?
Atelier God
In the Apocrypha timeline, hundreds of mini Holy Grail Wars erupted across the world. So it is easily possible that Waver participated in one of these, during which he summoned Iskander as his Servant.
Someone in the comments says he participated in a false holy grail war. I've never read Strange Fake though.
It's not that unbelievable since the only thing that changed is the war.
we took part in a fake grail war which had Kayneth killed
why did you not say the name of the final red master ( Shiro Kotomine)?
Kotomine Shirou Part 2. I do all the black servants then do all the red.
Okay so, nobody is gonna talk about Rani VIII's art featured at 12:13 ? No ? Only me ? :'D
Can you do Semiramis next
Ku'Thajajuan Dortch I already have a Semiramis lore actually.
You should do Grand Order next.
I'll be ur oni-chan They keep adding more and more so I may have to take a unique approach to it.
OtakuDaiKun I would love to see it though, cause it's such a unique approach to Fate.
Ok! Do you have any Lore on FGO servants ?
Ku'Thajajuan Dortch Some. I've got Scathach, Nitocris, Ozymandias, Bedivere and Lancer Artoria.
Does anyone know the name of the song that starts at 28:15?
19:35 Isn't shirou's magical circle to summon saber is the one that iris made from f/z ?
naisu Yes. Shirou had no idea he was using it though.
7:10 give me those monuments
Chaos Soul That would be nice.
The protagonist is a badass
he belongs in the bin
Waver’s the Second Lord El-Melloi because he took part in one of the False Holy Grail Wars and still summoned Iskandar.
That from Fate/Strange Fake?
If Alaya exist in apocrypha... Then its possible to summon CGs ....Interesting....
Who were the anime women in your intro?
I'm still confused... In this time line, did Angra Mainyu was summoned in the third war or that never happened?
No Angra Mainyu. Instead the Einzberns summoned Shirou Amakusa.
@@otakudaikun wow! Thanks for responding! Then why can the grial summon anti heroes like Jack?
Greetings from Mexico 😁🇲🇽
@@ANBUdoberman Shoot. I had the answer for that but I forgot. I think it had to do with Darnic tampering with the greater grail after he stole it.
FInished Apocrapha a couple weeks ago and I actual liked jeanne better in fgo instead lmao
BlazingRaptor Who? Jeanne Alter?
No, I remember liking normal Jeanne's character arc in fgo more overall than in apocrypha
BlazingRaptor Ah. Where she has to confront her Alter self who hates those that burned her.
So the Heroic Spirits are sacrifices...
Gabriel jacinto lópez In the grail war system yes. That's not their original purpose.
Whats the second girl from?
From the intro?
Only one question what happened to shirou in app., also there was alot of kneecapping .
Zachary Rodriguez Which Shirou?
Well you've covered that in the follow up, can you do the lore of altera?
what happened to tohsaka and matou and einzbern and kirei in Fate/Apocrypha
the blue psycho Not sure. Zero never happened so it’s possible Rin’s father is still alive. The Matou pretty much died so I don’t know what that means for Sakura.
Kirei lives on just being Kirei, our yorokobe god...
no wait hold on without Zero, Kirei wouldn't be the boi we know and love.....shi-
Is vampire vlad considered a Dead Apostle?
No. Vlad's ability to turn vampire is because of legends and stories about vampires, whereas dead apostles are creatures that actually exist in the Nasuverse.
OtakuDaiKun ah I see thanks for the clarification!
