So basically Gilgamesh is the summation of all the necessary potential anyone can ever possess, only to be squandered and wasted because of a horrible mindset. That’s very illuminating.
If that was the case, I guess no one ever worked for their power. So no, he doesn't have their potential, because he's not them. Having their weapons isn't enough to be them. Like, weapons don't make Gilgamesh half fucking god.

One thing people never note is how much wisdom Gilgamesh has. Notice how he always immediately figures out the abilities of others by seeing it once? He hit Heracles once and knew he needed Rank A weapons to damage him. Gets doused by Grail and instantly understands it.

@@midori4713 Huh? No, it doesn't. It protects you from damage, but Ea can destroy reality, and Reality comprehends everything. Not even indestructible things can survive the rupture of reality, for everything that exists is part of Reality
It's not even just that. One of my friends put the Gate of Babylon's description as apt as I've ever heard it. "The Gate of Babylon's greatest power is not even Ea, but it's versatility which boasts of even more versatility that both Shirou and EMIYA. Potions of Youth, Cauldrons of poisons which could dye the night sky in its vileness, statues that are larger than skyscrapers and far more resilient, and enough boiling oil to reenact Genesis. If Gilgamesh goes full power, not even the Gods can compare to him."
Yep, GoB represents the full collective potential of mankind and Gilgamesh was the one responsible for beginning the Age of Humans after rejecting the gods. GoB is pretty fucking strong, as strong as humanity can get and that, represented in his myth, is petty fucking OP.
I understand what they did with the character, that "infinite potential, but never uses". It's different, but in a way reflective of the actual myth, where he is the strongest alive, able to even battle the gods, but ends up failing his ultimate goal, but accepting his mortality and learning from it.
It’s been mentioned somewhere that Siduri is also summoned alongside Gilgamesh, she’s inside his treasury sorting and organising all the treasures that he’s collected. So it’s a dual summon in a way.
There are some other notable Noble Phantasms Gilgamesh doesn't have, however. For example, Exalibur itself is a divine construct created by the Earth. It may look somewhat similar to Calibrun, which is proceeded by Merodach and Gram, both of which Gil has, but Excalibur itself is a sword forged by the planet for the sake of protecting the planet. Like Ea, it is a construct directly tied to the world itself, which is part of the reason why Gilgamesh finds Artoria an interesting person: Excalibur could be considered equal to Ea, and so its wielder could be a match for him. Of course, it is true as the video said that Ea easily repells a blast from Excalibur, but also we need to know that Artoria doesn't use Excalibur at it's full strength, or rather, she can't. Excalibur was created to protect the Earth from outside invasions, and so it's power greatly diminishes when fighting other denizens of Earth. This may just be because this was not Excalibur's intended purpose, but it also may be because this is legitimately Excalibur fighting someone it is bound to protect. What's more, as a sword whose power is based on the wielder, Excalibur as wielded by Artoria is only as strong as what Artoria is able to put into it. Now, as a King leading knights seeking to protect her home, she actually can wield it to the greatest strength any mortal could hope to wield it: it was made for the hands of a loving protector defending their home, but emphasis on "mortal." Excalibur isn't a mortal weapon, it was meant to be used by a divine spirit tasked to protect Earth and was wielded so until the age of the Gods ended when it was left in the care of Vivian. Lore only has one instance in which Excalibur was used at what we could assume was full power, the invasion of Seraph. As the world faced destruction and many of the divine spirits were already killed, the wielder of Excalibur was called upon to do their duty as Earth's ultimate protector. Wielded by a divine spirit, channeled with divine authority, and used in defense of the Earth itself, Excalibur was unstoppable and Seraph didn't even really have a chance. Excalibur in this state was just that powerful. Excalibur and Ea are in a sense equal and opposites. Ea represents the idea of beginning and end, able to destroy and recreate the world, Excalibur represents the idea of endurance, the world continuing to exist beyond its creation and the avoidance of the end. While it might not be powerful enough to counter Ea in Artoria's hands, Artoria is also the only known mortal who was deemed worthy to wield it in the first place. She can't actually counter Gil in power, but she does represent something that is equal to Gilgamesh because she wields a similar yet opposite divine construct.
@@myspacebarbrokenevermindif9892 Nope, he has the prototype of every divine noble phantasm, that was created or possessed by humans. The reason for him not having Excalibur, is that it was never Artorias possession, in the way Karna got Vasavi Shakti. Instead she was merely the second mortal wielder of a construct created by Gaia through her agents the fae. Gil does have the prototypes of Godhand and VS in his vault, but he can't summon them due to not knowing what they are, nor find them, since trying to look for stuff inside an almost infinite treasury is kinda impossible, especially when you don't even have a description to go by. Gil even has the prototypes of some NPs, that weren't even items, since the prototype can be vastly different from the actual NP itself. Heracles would probably feel pretty cheated, if he found out that Gil got a TRUE version of his "special move" Nine Lives in convenient ballista form.
Ratel Vora he does have some divine constructs, like I said, but he doesn’t have them normally like he would manmade weapons. Gilgamesh is generally unaware if Vasavi Shakti corresponds to any treasure in his vault because it was described being used in legend, but this weird rule doesn’t apply to man made weapons. Man made weapons are always added to the treasury. Gilgamesh Matrix CCC: “...That which Gilgamesh stores, rather than being treasure, is “the origin of the intelligence of mankind” itself. If it does not exist in Gilgamesh’s treasury, then it is “something produced by a new breed of humanity, according a completely new concept.” “Something made from the technology of the culture born from the intelligent life from another heavenly body.” Gilgamesh doesn’t have Avalon, he also doesn’t have Excalibur, despite both of these being described being used extensively. I’d like to see where you got the idea that he has the prototype to all divine constructs used by humans, since Gilgamesh is unsure of this himself in regards to Vasavi Shakti, and he straight up doesn’t have Excalibur and Avalon. It’s also stated on the wiki that he wishes to obtain Kavacha and Kundala (Karna’s armour) but I can’t find a source on this. It’d make sense though, since Gil’s golden armour is weaker than KnK. He also doesn’t have God Hand according to the UBW anime, and I don’t remember it ever being said that he has a prototype to that. He does have Nine Lives though.
Ratel Vora and no, it’s never stated if Vasavi Shakti is in the vault. Gilgamesh: “that Karna, such divine might even with two of his trump cards sealed. What an irritating man. It’s a shame about the problem of his master. There’s no way that sack of meat can grant him his full power. Do you know, mongrel? That spear cannot be used by anyone, an article of rare beauty one have ever laid eyes upon. Which means that, though legend records that he “has” it, there is no description of it “being used”. Consequently, in my eyes that spear does not exist. As it is something that has not been described, I don’t know whether it corresponds to any of my treasures. A god-killing martial art, truth or falsehood - it will be most interesting to determine that going forward.” He also says God Hand is an asset that he lacks in the UBW anime (no VN or LN statements contradict this)
I don't know, he's pretty stupid that even I think I can out smart him serveral time before he even know what's going on. The man with petty desire like him is the easiest one to be manipulated.
@@cynt4416 I understand what you mean but I don't think he's dumb : His true weakness is the fact that, no matter what, he thinks too highly of himself, what let him taking lightly e.v.e.r.y single fight he faces. Otherwise he can't be considered as a human on its own considering he's the son of 2 gods and has faced the smug of the Grail without blackening and so, taking an alter form. Conclusion : He's a tricky character easy yet difficult to understand considering that his only motive is collecting all the things and amusement. :)
Asking "what if gilgamesh fights at full strength?" is a somewhat strange question, because if he was the type to do that then his abilities would probably be very different. The reason why his noble phantasm is so strong is because treasures come to him. The reason treasures come to him is because he is lazy and confident enough that the universe basically gives up and say "sure there ya go, have all my goodies". I'm saying that jokingly but yeah that's basically the idea. His powers are tied to the way he approaches life, so being arrogant and not using the power to full capacity is basically part of the power itself. To make an analogy it's kinda like asking "what would someone using spiral power from gurren lagann look like if they were clever and careful about how they use it?" Recklessness is basically inscribed into the power. Of course it's not as blatant with gilgamesh, but still, I don't think his power set can be analyzed in a way that ignore his overall attitude (which the video didn't do but I see that in the commentsà.
According to Gilgamesh's info on the status screen in the visual novel, Gilgamesh actually died from grief because he found an elixir of immortality and it was stolen while he was bathing. A tragic end to say the least
Whats funny is, even after the snake had eaten the herb of immortality he went searching for while bathing and he returned to Uruk a changed and wise king, he circled back again to same place just to RECOLLECT that herb again for the sake of just completing his collection and no longer caring about immortality
I always thought such things as Gil setting aside his arrogance would be impossible. Gilgamesh NEEDS to be selfabsorved for he is more than a man, existing as the first afirmation of mankind. Everybody want to rule the world but nobody wants to die, his epic is a tale about the human condition, existence, desires and fears. How worth are we flettling and ephemeral creatures when stacked against the immortal gods? Gilgamesh was doomed to die not because he was a lesser to the gods due to his human nature but because to die is in the nature of man. As a crossbred his only escape from death was to forsake his humanity...and yet he truly lived his life was a human, that is what he concluded at the end of his jorney, he declined the elixir of youth for he considered his long jorney a worth experience. In the end he achieved immortality as a man in the only way men can, through posterity. To be human is to be doomed to die yet our actions echo through eternity, and so he lives on surefooted in this belief, each of his treasures is the cristalization of someone's life that followed in his footsteps and achieved the same kind of immortality, those are the only things worth be called treasures. "A hero carry everything he sees" truly he is unique for no one could bear this burden but the keystone of Gilgamesh, qualities and flaws are different sides of a single coin, his "weakness" are the things that made him strong as well. His disdain toward Shirou is understandable, he is a worthless being without achievement of his own that steal power and skill of heroes and trivialize the symbol of their existences, the thing tha prove they existed.
If you want to see Gilgamesh fight seriously then read Fate Strange Fake He fights with all he have against Enkidu, Heracles Alter and one of The 4 hourseman of Apocalypse Or watch FGO Babylonia anime He fights the primordial godness Tiamat
Tertium he is 2/3 part god, so pretty much can be considered as "talent". Also his abilities were gifted to him by the Gods to lead mankind, so no "hardwork" there either. And its pretty understandable to become arrogant while being the true messiah of human race and having human emotions.
Gilgamesh is hard work and talent combined. His archer version is all talent, while is caster version is all hard work. Like, literal hard work. He actually dies of overwork.

"Grand" servants are just OP af. Hell look at King Hassan. He can kills what is unkillable and he can even kills his "Grand" possion that the world forced him in and break free from it.
I don't want to be nitpicky, but you got two things wrong. First, you mentioned that Key of the King's Law, Bab-ilu, was the key to open the Gate of Babylon. While this is true, it isn't correct. The Bab-ilu that Gilgamesh uses to open the Gate of Babylon and summon Ea is a completely different one from the one that was created in Ancient Babylon. The one he uses is 'A contract with a physical form that he made himself'. He himself says to not treat as the same as the one that was created in Ancient Babylon. The second thing that you got wrong is the fact that Enkidu has a limit. You said this because Heracles was able to break free from them in Fate/Stay Night. This is wrong. The reason that he could break free of them is not because of Enkidu having an inherent limit, but rather, Heracles's Legend itself, which has him overcoming 12 impossible labors. Thus he was able to overcome the impossible task of Enkidu, which should have been unbreakable, due to his demigod status. Enkidu does actually scale infinitely according to the Divinity within the opponent. Also, here are two other Noble Phantasm prototypes inside the Gate of Babylon that are featrued in various Type-Moon works that you didn't mention. True Nine Lives: True-Shooting the Hundred Heads, the prototype of Heracles's Noble Phantasm Nine Lives: Shooting the Hundred Heads. It is a giant ballista that fires 9 automatically guided laser like arrows that have Anti-Phantasmal Beast properities Merodach: The Original Sin, the prototype of Gram and Caliburn, the original sword that carried the property of 'Sword of Selection'. Gilgamesh uses it to determine if an opponent is worthy of Ea. It fires a beam of light, almost identical to Caliburn.
"It could even destroy the world if Gilgamesh wanted to" No. There are several safety measures that prevent that. Like Rhongonmyniad enkidu and the counter force. Also it is stated there is no noble phantasm that can destroy the world.
I read that Ea opened up a void that was swallowing the world but then Enkidu prevented it from happening. So does Ea not have the potential to destroy the world?
@@AniNews It can destroy "worlds". But worlds as in the dimensions making up the planet. The planet itself however can never be destroyed. So in a sense yes it can but no it can't.

I understand what they did with the character, that "infinite potential, but never uses". It’s been mentioned somewhere that Siduri is also summoned alongside Gilgamesh, she’s inside his treasury sorting and organising all the treasures that he’s collected. So it’s a dual summon in a way.
Siduri is still the best secretary
Gilgamesh's GOB only added weapon created by human. EA is not a weapon added to GOB but rather a second NP Gilamesh have and he just store it in GOB
@@rency1803 HE does have Divine constructs though, he just doesn't possess them naturally. He has divine constructs he personally collected.
Gilgamesh Matrix CCC:
“...That which Gilgamesh stores, rather than being treasure, is “the origin of the intelligence of mankind” itself. If it does not exist in Gilgamesh’s treasury, then it is “something produced by a new breed of humanity, according a completely new concept.” “Something made from the technology of the culture born from the intelligent life from another heavenly body.”
Gilgamesh doesn’t have Avalon, he also doesn’t have Excalibur, despite both of these being described being used extensively.
A god-killing martial art, truth or falsehood - it will be most interesting to determine that going forward.”
He also says God Hand is an asset that he lacks in the UBW anime (no VN or LN statements contradict this)

Im pretty sure after the elixir was stole he just gave up on searching imortality and become the ruler we saw on fate grand order (anime)

Speed of thought, more like speed of THOT
Well in the opinion of certain unnamed Fate RUclipsrs Ishtar is the THOT QUEEN, so he's going to have a way to out run her.
Medb?
@@MrBankaikenshin Why we got to bring Lancer Cu's baby mama into this?
Never in her wildest dreams.
@@MrBankaikenshin It's literally part of Cu's myth. She's the Queen of Connacht who invaded Ulster before being kidnapped and... raped? It's not really clear how DTF she was, but Cu kept her until she got knocked up then gave her some weird rules for his Son to follow before peacing out back to Ulster.
"You Mongrels dare make a video of me." Gilgamesh is a legend.
Gilgamesh is a gamer at heart, love it.
The Omniscient Omnipotent Star is his best skill. it lets him know exactly how to win everything fight. but he purposely turns it off even though it cost him nothing to keep it on except boredom.
*Gilgamesh did nothing wrong*
The truth has been said
He became a Doctor and gave Illya a reverse heart transplant
He instigated Kotomine to kill Rin’s dad for shits and giggles, brutally tortured and murdered the Einzbern homunculi for shits and giggles and then proceeded to try to kill every living being in the planet with the corrupted greater grail, also for shits and giggles. I don’t know how anyone could look at all of this and say it isn’t wrong.
No this is Patrick also, the real Gilgamesh is a full douchebag.
@@ElZamo92 Gilgamesh did everything for a reason
of course he didnt
For people wondering. Excalibur and Avalon and Ryhomingad are divine constructs created by fairies, so they are not man's creation, therefore, not in Gi's vault. He does have the original construct of Caliburn however.
True but in real life not many people knew about Gil into fate came along in fact Arthur is well more know off 1000x more then Gil and ontop that cailburn is in real life first before the monarch one but in fate monarch is a prototype and so came first which in real life that wrong
Whats strange is that Gils vault technically doesnt spawn divine constructs like all his other items and prototype NPs, yet his gate has Mystic Codes from all eras, and one of the Mystic Codes created actually houses the lance Rhongohmynaid
the hammer and sickle: 100% effective rate against kings
(And same with karna)
According to his legend, he had almost all divine weapons known to Gods. And unlike gil, he had knowledge and ability to use all those weapons. And some were so destructive that they could destroy the universe itself.
Well not just universe some of his weapons can destroy the multiverse.
That's Indian servants for you, each of them is broken af
@@jaysutar3216 its likely some of Gilgamesh weapons besides ea can do that, but Gilgamesh doesnt even know he has them in his vault, or just doesnt give a shit because he has ea.
Wait doesn't Karna have a curse that makes him forget his skills when he needs them most?
@@virgondust5562 ya that killed him..
Gilgamesh is my favourite, thank you for this video.
Gil at full power is not exciting at all. There would be no challenge. Every fight would end in a second. He only works as a character because he is so arrogant he doesn't go all out.
that is not true, you merely need to have him fight someone just as OP as himself(AKA:Fate/Strange Fake).
there are many OP servants in fate-verse like king Hassan, Solomon, Enkidu, Merlin,... Gil is among the strongest but he still has a hard time to deal with other OP servants
Christopher Hughes, Hahahaha Assassin Of Red?
Does her Sikera Usum counted as magic attack? Then Gilgamesh can just nullify it by his Golden Armor, or just kill her directly
No. Gil, if full power and serious would cut through time and space meaning he could simply make anyone he wants cease to even exist.
he basically throw money at his problems and they blow up
He looks down on people so much that he’s looking up
Gilgamesh Aka OP character by definition
I love these OP characters.
I love Gilgamesh because he is who I throw into a battle against other OP characters .
I wonder, in a all out battle, can he beat:
Alucard?
Superman?
Goku?
Dark schneider?
Thanos (no infinity G)?
Hela (they both can cast nigh-unlimited swords)?
Spawn?
@@kelechi321 1. Alucard dies.
2. Depends on which Superman.
3. Thanos without IG loses.
4. Kakarot probably lose more than win. Dude often drags out battle.
Dunno the rest.

Actually I think thanos could win...
@@gilgameshlfx7006 Alucard can't die, my little friend, he is now an indestructible monster after absorbing Schrodinger. I don't think Gilgamesh can win here, but he has a chance if he goes all out.

Gotta love how “CANNOT BE POOR” is one of his abilities
During Fate/Extra timeline you can see Gil going more or less full power. Also, I think is worth mentioning that his clairvoyance allows him to act as a caster servant and actually be able to rank in Grand Caster(according to FGO anyway). Nice vid.
Can't be grand caster. That's a misconception
@@cake6851 Actually any servant can be a grand servant if the earth decides to summon them that way
Deathstar 699 Not really. There are requirements we just don't know them
Also in Strange Fake Gilgamesh goes full power against Enkidu.
"Grand" servants are just OP af. Hell look at King Hassan. He can kills what is unkillable and he can even kills his "Grand" possion that the world forced him in and break free from it.
Me : Gilgamesh how strong are you
Gilgamesh : YES
Great video. Your presentation and editing are off the chain!
I need more Fate videos from this channel dammit! 😭
I wish gil gets a standalone anime like accelerator did, itwould be really awesome to see this
Fgo Absolute demonic front Babylonia
Fate/Strange Fake basically revolves around him
I don't want to be nitpicky, but you got two things wrong.
It is a giant ballista that fires 9 automatically guided laser like arrows that have Anti-Phantasmal Beast properities
Merodach: The Original Sin, the prototype of Gram and Caliburn, the original sword that carried the property of 'Sword of Selection'. Gilgamesh uses it to determine if an opponent is worthy of Ea. It fires a beam of light, almost identical to Caliburn.
Listen to the Korean, boys. They've done the math.
"While this is true, it isn't correct."
Shiro is that you?
I swear Fate does something to people
...xD
7:32 i love how we're boosting his image and this unbiased statement comes in
8:03 I bet the red one Is the best
A good government is a communist government
"It could even destroy the world if Gilgamesh wanted to" No. There are several safety measures that prevent that. Like Rhongonmyniad enkidu and the counter force. Also it is stated there is no noble phantasm that can destroy the world.
I read that Ea opened up a void that was swallowing the world but then Enkidu prevented it from happening. So does Ea not have the potential to destroy the world?
@@AniNews It can destroy "worlds". But worlds as in the dimensions making up the planet. The planet itself however can never be destroyed. So in a sense yes it can but no it can't.
Ahhhh gotcha. Thanks for clarifiying :D
so basically its meh
@@coolchrisable I mean I wouldn't say meh. I mean shattering whole planet sized dimensions is pretty devastating.
I love the look on his face when Shirou slices his arm off
Gilgamesh getting fed up of Fuyuki: “you mortals dare to annoy me. Let’s see if you can handle a third bomb.”
Great vid my favorite part was when he was talking at 12:23
"You need to fight like a champion to be the champion."
Nice closing words.
''Gilgamesh how strong do you want to be?''
Wait a minute, I have to destroy the remaining multiverses and universes
me waiting for a gilgamesh route for when he one shots everything
Need that
Fate extra ccc is literally that route lol
Imagine if Type Moon did a follow up to Unlimited Blade Works route within the last 14 years
What would be cool is if shirou could be recognized by a god to be able to use divinity so he can project divine constructs, that would be so boss.
I was your 3rd sub! Forever and always your true love!
Lòooooooooooool ily
8:35 it looks pretty ffkin cool
XD U caught me off guard
Love these videos! The only comment I have is on why Gilgamesh has every item created on Earth in his creation. In his legend, Gilgamesh is the first mortal (part human) given the Earth to rule from the Gods. This means that as long as it belongs to Earth, it belongs to him. Gilgamesh never retrieved every weapon, he was granted everything on Earth by the Gods.
Love these videos!!! Please keep making content!
depends on what version of gil is, if you been lucky to summon his caster self, you pretty much won, agaist everything, if you manage to convince him to fight for your side instead of himself
He’s actually one of my favorite characters. Especially after watching Fate/Grand Order.
Idk what's anime I just seen your video and pressed it cuz it look cool is this anime thing worth it
no wonder he’s my absolute favorite fate character
"Dodging is not an option"
Zerkercelot:... aaaaaaaaa (Hold my beer)
he managed to survive 16 shots, but it was mentioned that he was at limit, even with help of knight's honor he couldn't handle the next attack, if Gil was not ordered to return he would be doomed
Gilgamesh: I’M GOING TO USE EA, I’M GOING TO USE IT!
