Well, given the fact that Nero in real life was bisexual, a crossdresser, and into various sexual fetishes I will NOT discuss, I can understand gender bending Nero.
Having said that, the guys writing her character really should've tackled the whole "persecution of Christians" issue since its a big part of her story, at least since Christianity won out in the end within the Roman Empire and the Christians probably didn't help with Nero's reputation.
@@stevenchoza6391 actually you have to think about it like this lets say you live in the usa a place of many relgions which everyone both dont argue over, lets say a new relgion pops up we will call it, manyru now manyru at first seems like one of those relgions that will fail intially but now its becoming more and more popular tand those people are saying that our version of god is wrong, put yourself in that postion,
Actually historically the persecution of Christian's by the Romans came about due to Christian's defying Roman norms, but not in a way you would expect. Under Roman law, especially by the time Nero was in power, the office of Emperor had taken on a divine sense and was seen as a close relation to the gods. In turn religious bodies across the empire were expected to pay tribute to the Emperor for his divinity. Now this was fine amongst most religions in the Empire, as most were polytheistic, having multiple gods and were not too heavily fussed about owing loyalty to a new god - also back then the idea of rulers being gods was still very popular. However Christians (and by extension Jews) were monotheistic believing in one god - which put them at odds with traditional norms in the empire as they refused to pay homage to the Emperor for his divinity. Also early Christians were very private when compared to most other religions at the time, practicing in rather reserved ceremonies, rather than throwing lavish parties to worship their deities. This made them seem odd and strange, and couple in the fact their private nature in a very extroverted society made them seem very suspicious. I am brining this up as it helps to explain why their was so much anti Christian attitudes in Rome and why Nero had an easy time persecuting them. For many Romans they were already under suspicion and their culture was seen as out of the norm by many other cultural groups in the Empire.
The PBG Still, he/she was infamous for those persecutions and Christians won out in the end and had a millennia and a half to beat Nero’s reputation down with a grudge-empowered shillelagh, which they definitely did. So, again, it’s an issue that should’ve been tackled.
Interestingly enough a big reason Christianity won out in the end was because they actually gave positions to women early on before the codification of the bible. In the early sermons and prayer women were given equal status to men and there are even records of women leading sermons in Rome. Why is this significant? Because in Roman times women often raised the children and as such the Children often learned the religious practices of the mother.
Nero was an incredibly selfish ruler, and many see selfishness as tyrant acts, but in the end in her own way she did care for her people. I blame the poison, a bit for her craziness.
Due to groups naming themselves after Nero after Nero's death and other evidence many historians believe that Nero was loved by the common man and that it was only her hated enemies that caused the bad stories to be created because, in the end, her enemies won. Nero was reported to cross-dress at times and if not solely a creation of Nero's enemies perhaps Nero was gender fluid or transsexual making Nero though grail power very likely to chose to come back female. It is known in Fate that D'vinci wanted to come back a woman and highly inferred that Drake used her grail to become born as female. And I am of the not that small minority of men who would want to come back a forever young hot (lesbian). Now the fat body Roman that is assigned to Julius is actually how many artworks draw Nero. Before fate, if you showed me that picture I would have said, Nero. Julius was a field general most of his life with a hard lean body caused by massive horse riding and field actions as shown by his statues. So if Nero picked female somehow her old body was dumped on Julius.
DEUS VULT Yeah that was fucked up, in Anime they provided a reason for her insanity, but in actual History I'm pretty sure people hate her for good reason, unless any new history pops up. In the end each individual person has their own way of seeing someone based on who they are and what they've done.
Her Venus form is exclusive for Extella considering it uses the power of the Moon Cell. It'd be like trying to use a Divine Spirit or the Grand Servant version of Hassan.
@@LeonGun8 then at least give us Padoru. Make a seasonal Nero, put her in a Santa outfit, & her Noble Phantasm line is just singing the little Padoru jingle while she attacks. I would spend even more of my money than I already do to get that.
Nero was considered in history to be a good leader at first who later went insane, though compared to what would follow her (him???) he wasn't that bad
@@matthewoverstreet1267 There's not actually a whole lot of evidence of that being honest with you. He might have, but almost everything regarding Nero had a spin. The real facts of what happened then are still up in the air. In fact, there's some evidence that Nero was actually well liked by the poor of Rome during the time of Tacitus' Annals, and that because he had powerful enemies they may have been motivated to tarnish his legacy. Likewise, there isn't a lot of evidence of Peter's execution at the upside-down cross, for whose death Nero is blamed. It's actually quite interesting, how ancient propaganda affects modern understandings of history. Especially when wrapped up in history's largest religion. Of course, I wouldn't put it past a *Caesar* to be a genocidal maniac, seeing as how that's what the original Caesar is known for. But, our understanding of Roman history is becoming more secular and evidence-based, and so a lot of the historical myths of Rome and even the idea of what Rome was seem to be changing.

I meant to reply to a comment but accidentally deleted it. In real life, Nero kills Britannicus through poison and not Agrippina. Actually, in a complete twist of the fate series, Agrippina was using Britaniccus to threaten Nero's emperorship, as Britannicus was a legitimate son of Claudius and Nero was adopted. This was a time when Nero and Agrippina started arguing a lot after getting the title of emperor. Although Agrippina poisoning Emporer Claudius and using her son, Nero, was all true. Nero, kinds of starts noticing how scary ambitious Mom is and assassinates her. Octavia, wife of Nero, does not kill herself but was also killed by Nero. Octavia was actually raised to be an extremely loyal wife to the Emporer but her direct birth from Claudius was seen as a threat. Nero sets up a plot to get her charged with adultery and gets her executed. Seneca was not necessarily completely proven to be a part of the conspiracy but was still executed. Although he did commit suicide, he was ordered to commit suicide by cutting his vein. However, I wouldn't necessarily say he was a tyrant. All of this was pretty common considering the politics of the time, the only caveat being that he killed a lot of family members and her mother. Nero's mom caused a lot of fright in him. Caligula, the Emporer twice before, was far worse in abuse of power. The folly of his term was probably in relation to his sheer negligence of the empire in his excessive obsession with performing the arts and travels at Greece. This caused a lot of problems back home when he appointed very unfit individuals to lead. Even when he got the news that this had lead to a crisis in Rome, he ignored it because he was more interested in competing in Greek festivals and events. This eventually kills him when he even ignores the rebellion lead by Galba, later 6th emperor of Rome. Unsurprisingly in competing in these events, Nero won them all. As at the time, like most of the known world, Greece was under the vast Roman Empire. This was more than 1000 events btw. Also when Nero kills himself, he has to do it with the aid of a servant. He kept chickening out, even though he knew this was the best way out. He was ordered by the senate to be flogged to death naked.
You have to remember though that it's separate servants. There's a Nero and a Tamamo (and an Altera of the Moon) who are all Hakuno's servants. And then we have a Nero and a Tamamo who have nothing to do with Hakuno and THOSE are the ones we got (Tamamo recalled memories of Hakuno but she makes it clear she's not THAT Tamamo).

Heroic spirits are more that just servants. They're are (or once were) living people with traits and flaws. Im certain if she can convince me that im her master with command seals on my hand, i can convince her that's she is (or could be) a close friend.
You know, given that controversial rulers are becoming heroic spirits, I wonder if they’ll put Akhenaten in at some point. I see a lot of potential with him, especially with Ozymandias who is credited with getting Egypt back on track after he died.
Considering we don't know about Jack the Ripper let alone two different versions of Jack thats everyones guess. Though I do feel sad for Assassin Jack in a collective way if not being a wraith.
Manuel Fernandez ? Do you mean that we litteraly don't know about him as he has no identity or do you mean it as in you don't know about two versions? If it's the latter, he's a Berserker in Fate Strange Fake
Shirou Tokisada Amakusa Kotomine mostly the Assassin Jack being the embodiment of the childern being abandoned. Berserker we just don't know and even he/she is looking for answers about himself/herself.
As an aspiring Musical Theatre Actor, I like her. In fact, I'm certain if I were to summon a Servant at random without a Catalyst, I'll most likely get her
Advent Nebula I would love to as well, the downside is that there's not much about her before becoming the blood countess. Also would like to know where her dragon features come from (horms, tail and wings)
Space Penguins As far as I know, it's a series. Last year, when Aniplex announced anime projects concerning the Fate series, I recall them saying that Apocrypha and Extra: Last Order were going to be series, while Fate/Grand Order and Heaven's Feel were to be movies. Speaking of F/GO, the next movie should be out next year, probably in spring.
WHOO HOO!!! Red Saber!!! My favorite Servant and best Saber class I will everything single one of you on it!!!!! Thanks for doing Nero. I actually thought you would do a servant from Zero first and move from there. You know like do the main story then the side stuff.
Not sure if beating all 3 storylines changes things, but I was saddened by Umbral Star’s ending for Nero (shown at 11:00). (Funny, I actually chose to be a female character, so that picture is accurate). I enjoy Neros’ way of thinking and vanity. She’s my number one Saber in FGO, and I am overjoyed that they made her a main character in Umbral Star and Last Encore. She lead a tragic life and tried to find her own joy in it, nothing wrong with that. UMU for Nero!
So I have a question regarding her "Imperial Privilegie" Skill. Among the skills it grants its the "Arts" Skill, but as much as I researched it it doesn't specify what that skill does. Does it entail performing arts, pictorial arts, or all of them at once?
Interesting. I saw you'd do Fate/Zero's servants. Well, I hope you will do FGO original characters because some of them are ignored while not deserving it (Arjuna and Rama for instance). It is a wish of mine to have FGO only or, servants mentionned in obscure fate materials (like Merlin, Scathach, Nobunaga, Okita for instance) to have more spotlight.
Nice to see more of Nero's past, I actually never looked into Nasuverse Nero's lore, guess most of it comes from the EXTRA manga?? PS: Best waifu Tamamo when??
modern studies about Nero have shown the he was in a different city at the time of Rome burning and he decreased prices and helped rebuild Rome with bricks and stone and instead of the wood buildings that were what most buildings were made out of at the time and separated them and considering that were prosecuted if you were christian at the time but you could at the time just you say you are not they would believe you it is most likely the blamed him at the time for it
You know I understand Nero now a little bit but I still go with arthor just didn't feel like Nero was like somebody who's like you cannot understand her love if you don't like going to or mine or think what she's thinking and plus she's a little bit cocky and also kind of like Arthur more because of our duty and honor and our loyalty to her citizens to protect when are there I can relate with Nero is like a book that you cannot understand

Fun (read gruesome) fact: Nero hated christians and made candles out of them
Tyvm for your video always interesting and informative.
Do the Origin of Jack the ripper and Nightingale Soon please cant wait hahahahaha
sira baiprasert IF he does that he sure as hell (meant as a joke) should take into accout both Assassin and Berserker Jack the Ripper.
Of course my friend, everything he does is to make us all happy with his lore VDO, or any VDO for that matter.
Berserker we just don't know and even he/she is looking for answers about himself/herself.
they loved her catchphrase, don't they?
We all do, umu!
Umu! This video is hook line and sinker. Thanks for uploading.
Also can you please do lore of jeanne's arc.
UMU
As an aspiring Musical Theatre Actor, I like her. In fact, I'm certain if I were to summon a Servant at random without a Catalyst, I'll most likely get her
thats a sad story :(
With the Moon Cell now in play, and Grand Order, Elizabeth Banthony needs her own video.
Advent Nebula I would love to as well, the downside is that there's not much about her before becoming the blood countess. Also would like to know where her dragon features come from (horms, tail and wings)
Finally Servant Lore From a Game I can Actually Play
Really looking forward to Fate/Extra: last encore (hopefully it’s a full series and not a movie)
Space Penguins That's the best outcome.
First episode aired yesterday midnight (28th Jan). More to come. UMU!
its out and its crap
Yep.
I wish Nero's Master has been the female version instead of the guy.
Nero needs an alter version that's her tyrant self but still adorable and full of umu just slightly evil umu
The Jewgician Lol I'm surprised it's not already a thing.
UmU is best girl
Yeaaaaah!!!!! Thanks man!!!! 😊😝
WHOO HOO!!! Red Saber!!! My favorite Servant and best Saber class I will everything single one of you on it!!!!! Thanks for doing Nero. I actually thought you would do a servant from Zero first and move from there. You know like do the main story then the side stuff.
JJtheSNKKid I'll be jumping all over the place now.
That's cool. I'm looking forward to more of these Servant Lore videos; I love them.
Thanks for UMU video bro.. plz do my boy Karna next.
Can’t wait for when you do mordred as well as Atalanta
Lukestar Ford Out of personal interest and competition, Mordred is actually next.
OtakuDaiKun hell yeah
I almost cried at the part where Nero killed herself.
James Douglass Beating all 3 routes lands you a 4th one with a true ending.
@@otakudaikun Figured. That ending was just hallow, so I'll eventually get back to that.
I’ve always been curious about why her weapon looks so odd yet artistic. I guess it reflects her personality.
In real life, Nero had my man Gnaeus Corbulo fall on his sword.
Yay! This is now my favourite Episode solely because it's my waifu, Saber UMU!
umu
as long you're good looking, no matter how worse you are people will still hail you haha
You know who comes next right?
Mikon!
Tis the season for this to come out cause I just got Nero on a Story Draw in Grand Order while everybody's screaming about Tamamo-no-Bae!
#SWAG
Mitchell Alexander Nice! I love my umu but I have too many Sabers for a balanced party.
Where I can find the manga that appears at 8:51 ?? I really want to read it!
So I have a question regarding her "Imperial Privilegie" Skill. Among the skills it grants its the "Arts" Skill, but as much as I researched it it doesn't specify what that skill does. Does it entail performing arts, pictorial arts, or all of them at once?
I'm not sure. I feel it would just be a reflection of the arts she appreciated in life.
How about an episode about Tamamo?
Umu!!! intsensifies XD
her mother is the worst T_T, really now, poisoning your own child :/
Amine Bachir lots of douchebags in Fate.
Since the Halloween event has started you should do Elizabeth next.
Praise the emperor of mankind
UMU I APPROVE!!
UMU!
Any chance you could do a lore review on Altera (AKA Atilla the Hun?)
Samuel Gersten She's getting a lot of requests. I'll be keeping that in mind.
Nero is totally best girl
modern studies about Nero have shown the he was in a different city at the time of Rome burning and he decreased prices and helped rebuild Rome with bricks and stone and instead of the wood buildings that were what most buildings were made out of at the time and separated them and considering that were prosecuted if you were christian at the time but you could at the time just you say you are not they would believe you it is most likely the blamed him at the time for it
ethan harper I like how, regardless of who started the fire, Nero has to deal with the fact that in legend she's been blamed for it.
Now we need everyone's reality destroying trap *Astolfo*
Umu umu! I love Nero Saber ❤❤
Good job UMU
You know I understand Nero now a little bit but I still go with arthor just didn't feel like Nero was like somebody who's like you cannot understand her love if you don't like going to or mine or think what she's thinking and plus she's a little bit cocky and also kind of like Arthur more because of our duty and honor and our loyalty to her citizens to protect when are there I can relate with Nero is like a book that you cannot understand
The Saber class possibly the strongest class in the wars being raised on tales of great sword Wielder's I find it fitting that I would become a saber.
