I’ve read somewhere that in Fate, the Battle of Camlann was the first conflict between Mordred and King Arthur. In fact, Mordred actually wanted it to be the only fight so that civilian casualties could be kept to a minimum. Also, something rather interesting is that Mordred was actually left in charge of Camelot while the King was fighting in Rome. So, you have to admit that Saber kind of shot herself in the foot, especially if she was aware of Mordred’s anger at her.
Yes but Mordred also baited Artoria into battle. She had already claimed she was the King and even claimed Artoria may have died in the expedition to the mainland.
Mordred is bar none my favorite Knight of the Round Table. Her playful, tomboyish personality is most endearing, and she’s proven multiple times to be quite loyal to those who earn her trust. As I said a year ago, it is ironic that the Knight of Treachery would prove a dependable and loyal ally. It saddens me that her relationship with Artoria is so strained. As I have said before, one of the biggest draws of the Fanfiction Fragments of Chaldea is that the two of them do get an opportunity to reconcile and become a loving family unit along with the other Round Table members.

ecthelion alfa That's really cool, but I guess Fate wanted to emphasize that Mordred's more obsessed with being recognized that she doesn't even think of what to do AFTER being king.
If the only reason you hate Mordred is because she killed Artoria, then you need to get over yourself. I love both father and son and they ended up killing each other. Each have their respective faults for letting things end in such a tragedy yet at the same time both recognize their respective faults once they were summoned as familiars. I love them both and will keep doing so. I encourage you to do the same and the stop the needless hate, especially for Mordred.
Mordred only faded because her master died. He even said she could continue and make a pact with someone else to keep fighting, but she chose to die with him. She was fine after that battle.
I wonder what would happen if Arthuria had been after meeting Shirou Emiya? I wonder what would have happened if Arthuria had worded her words better? I wonder what would happen if saber alter was the king how would that change Mordred’s Fate? Each of these scenarios would cause a different outcome I believe now what do you think?
OtakuDaiKun I meant theee plot changes as discussion points but that’ll do also If Mordred is supposed to be a perfect clone of Arthuria how would Tittyuria’s Tittyordred look?
Some people want to have Artoria and Mord get their rematch. But I on the other hand would like for them to finally make up. Because Artoria knew all along, she wasn't as worthy of being the King just like her daughter was. She died full of regrets, from the downfall of the Knights of the Round, to the downfall of Camelot itself. And most importantly, she died never even treated Mordred the attention she deserved.
Especially if you'd think they would meet again in the Throne of Heroes, sadly they most likely won't. As caster Amadeus Mozart said in Grand Order: "There are many heroes in the Throne, as there were stars in the sky, for us to even see each other in such afterlife would be next to impossible." It is possible but in a one in a million chance. Akasha is a stickler when it comes to managing even their afterlives.
Some Yakuza Dad With a Beard Well they're a team in my Chaldea lol. Also there's a lot of awesome art with the two together. I think it's legit possible.
From what I read, the expedition that Artoria had that gave Mordred the opportunity to stage the rebellion was actually the manhunt for Lancelot and during the King's absence, Mordred took Clarent (Artoria's other sword) from the armory where despite her being able to use it skillfully, only the rightful king can use its full potential, if so, then Mordred is indeed one remarkable Saber class that was only held back by her family issues if she was still able to deliver a killing blow to Artoria in life and can still use Clarent Blood Arthur as a servant with such power output when she does not even have the full right to be using it. Truly Mordred has a lot of learning to do but imho, she is worthy to be Artoria's heir. Too bad Artoria decided not to trust the blood residing inside her child.
Indeed. I can't say I know for sure all the details of how the Rome expedition fits in with chasing after Lancelot. Garden of Avalon and such don't really give a timeline of events.
Yup the Lore is very vast, I get dizzy reading all of em that is why i much rather watch your narrative videos XD Mordred according to the source was in charge of Camelot and had an interesting chit chat with Mrs. Pendragon as part of Mordred's plan of destabilizing Artoria's rule from within. ^_^; Cunning little cat indeed.
Mordred and kairi sat. Death was coming. The necromancer laughed. "Ya know, that kid was a prick. But damm he did it." Mordred sighed. "Well im not dissipearing like a little bitch, lets find a way out of here yeah?" "You sure you can even support me?" Mordred laughed. "Oh please i put arthur on his ass despite dying,i can carry a guy like you!" Mordred remarked morbidly. "Yeah, true." By the skin of there teeth the 2 got out. After landing on a hill nearby the necromancer looked at the dragon. Smiling. "Well...ill be dammed." "Huh? Master what are-....damm it!" Mordred exclaimed in defeat. "Well. Seems like noone won huh." "Looks like." Mordred said sighing. "So? Whats next?" "Huh?" Kairi said confused. "Well were still alive and we aint dead yet,so? Whats next for kairi sisigou and mordred?" "I dunno...never really did well with partners." "Oh what? Look we might have lost but we were fucking badasses back there! I mean,i havent had this kind of a rush in battle since ages and hell,we did some good things in the end!" Mordred spoke proudly. Kairi sighed. "You really arent gonna leave even with the war over are you?" "Ha! Id like to see whod try and stop me." Kairi sighed again. Then got up carefully. "Well. This might be one screwed up world. But why don't we try changing that somewhat?" Kairi said. "A necromancer and a knight huh. Well. Were still alive yeah? Why not,im in!" Mordred exclaimed. "Yeah but...we should probably see a hospital..." "Yeah yeah, come on old man,i got you." Mordred grabbed kairi and off they went. Huh...so the grails headed to avalon then. Aint that ironic. Galahad you absolute tool you might have been on to something...
Hopefully, we will get a SaberfaceMorgan Le Fay as Caster (I don't think we have anyone in FGO yet) servant soon and we will see how her story plays out. So far her story is pretty interesting. 1/ Morgan is the firstborn child hence she should inherit the throne due to hirachy. 2/ Her younger sister Artoria, pulled Caliburn out of the stone and was crowded as new king due to the sword ruling. 3/ Morgan holds grudges against Arotria due to this development (then maybe some back story on how the 2 used to get along with Morgan destine to be the next empress only to lose the throne to Artoria due to a magical sword Caliburn selection ruling). 4/ This will make Mordred had a strong claim to the throne due to being a child of Morgan with the lost of Caliburn (no more king selection via Caliburn hence go back to order of hierarchy) after Artoria reign without heir due to being female, and Guinivere and Lancelot affair got exposed. So much materials, MAKE IT HAPPENS TYPE MOON.
I find Mordred to be cool in most respects as she does not really hide herself behind a mask like Artoria when she was alive. I'm not sure if anyone made a connection but I see Mordred in the same light as Starscream himself from the Armada series; I remember the scene Galvatron recalls the last words of Starscream (waking him up) and when he berated his minions as he pointed out that; Yes, Starscream did betray him but he never strayed from the Descepticon code; this brings a smile to my face as this fits Mordred too.
I'd actually say that both Mordred and Artoria hid themselves behind masks to some degree. Neither of them had a chance to live a "normal" life, and were swords for other people - Artoria for her people, and Mordred for Morgan le Fay. Both of them had to live as men and had to live around men, and didn't really get any chance to express themselves honestly. (both Artoria and Mordred wanted to be viewed and treated as men). The difference between their personality really comes from their personality themselves. Mordred's personality seems more centered around passion, while Artoria tends to be more about being formality, honor, and pure-heartedness(?). Although Artoria seems to be prone to getting upset or sulky quite easily - especially if she gets teased, at least towards people really close to her. (certain portions of Fate route and Hollow Ataraxia will show this well).
Well that's true. Also who knows when male version of Mordred comes out and has his/her/their own origin and motives for hating Arthur. Gotta love this series.
I know this is late but my speculation is that maybe Mordred was presented Clarent as a sort of badge of office after making it into the Knights of The Round but because after revealing her true identity to Artoria and Artoria rejected her maybe the sword was then weakened or taken back. I mean isn't Clarent supposed to be The Royal Sword of Succession, meant to be passed on to the heir? Because Artoria denied Mordred and didn't recognize her as her heir, the sword was then considered stolen (by way of not being in the hands of an acknowledged heir, not actually stolen) and it's strength weakened or maybe Artoria took Clarent back and Mordred stole it while she was away. Just a thought :3
Very interesting. Only recently I found your channel and I already love it. Great work on Fate's heroes and it really helps to understand those heroes a bit better. I'm looking forward to yours next video.
As someone relatively new when it comes to the nasuverse and its fandom, one thing I wonder is whether there's an in-universe explanation as to why the likes of Mordred and Nero, even when they're not in their home turf, seem quite a bit stronger than your average servant, including other saber class servants. Isn't the power of a heroic spirit determined mainly by its fame, age and the legends surrounding that person ? If so, shouldn't someone like Nero who isn't particularly renowned for his (her in this universe) martial prowess, or Mordred who isn't that famous, compared to the king and the other knights of the round table, be weaker than someone like Siegfried ? To clarify, I've watched all available fate anime but I've played none of the games/visual novels. Most of the info I have on the subject come from the wiki.
It also heavily depends on what they were capable in life. Artoria, and the Round Table members were all excellent warriors in life. One of them even had a "bow" that fired sonic energy projectiles, and Artoria also fought a gigantic dragon during her life alongside Gawaian. In fact Artoria during the 5th (and to a lesser extent 4th) Grail war was significantly nerfed compared to how she was in life, due to the low mana output of Shirou and the restrictive Servant class system. The closest to when Artoria was capable in life was probably during her having Rin as a master. (proper mana supply).
SchismeEternel A heroic spirit's age gives a boost to their parameters (especially if they're more famous in a certain place), while the legends just define some of their powers. The Knights of the Round Table, as a whole, are INCREDIBLY famous, with Mordred being one of the most famous members, due to his (or, in the Nasuverse, HER) role in the fall of Camelot. King Arthur him/herself, is such a famous story that EVERYONE knows about him/her, to the point that even paired with an incompetent magus like Shirou still lets them defeat multiple Servants.
Nero isn't actually very powerful in the lore outside of Imperial Privilege and her NP. Mordred is very famous due to being a Knight of the Round Table and the most infamous villain of Arthurian legend. Also, he fought and killed Artoria, which inherently means he has the abilities to fight against one of the strongest Sabers.
Great video!!! Both Mordred and Artoria are great characters. So The whole Artoria having the gentleman's rod by Merlin was a tempory thing or was it a permanent attachment? Because I've been trying to get more info. Also if this was a permanent thing even her time of the Holy Grail Wars. I will never forgive you, Merlin.
69memedaddy 69 No, Yandere. She openly wanted Gilgamesh, unlike a Tsundere's cat-ish ways of acting too shy to admit it, and when he refused, she tried to have him killed.
Iron Lord 2014 I'm pretty sure FGO is going to be the definitive source of new Fate works for a while. Though technically Mordred can be summoned just like any other servant and it would be cool to see her in Fate Extella Link but that's a shot in the dark.
Aye dai I know the joke of shirou being the step mom of mordred but I do see that if shirou and saber were to have a child then she would look like hippolyta from fate strange fake due to the hair color, hair style, and eye color.
CORRECTION! Mordred did not receive Clarent, she stole it when she assumed power during Artoria's absence.
Now that makes more sense to me
Mordred is such a badass servant
Also correction: mordred did not die from her injuries. She died due to smoking for the first time. It’s well known side effect to first time smoking.

As a Saber fan, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I think it's really immature to hate her just for that reason.
Kitai105 They both trash that must be eliminated by heroine x
Kitai105 Neither Artoria nor Mordred handled things well. They all have blood on their hands.
Dont you mean mother and daughter?
Mordred only faded because her master died. He even said she could continue and make a pact with someone else to keep fighting, but she chose to die with him. She was fine after that battle.
Yeah. I really wish I could replace just the audio to correct that and the fact that she stole Clarent.
That's why I love fanart of the two of them getting along. A vision of things that are only speculative.
OtakuDaiKun I meant theee plot changes as discussion points but that’ll do also If Mordred is supposed to be a perfect clone of Arthuria how would Tittyuria’s Tittyordred look?
Atelier God dammit the feels man and I fell in love with morgan and mordred
My answer will always be the same. Those boobs ARE the singularity.
OtakuDaiKun even though they are not a singularity by its definition since there is two of them?
Mordred was the daughter that shishigo ever wanted and Shishigo was the father that mordred ever needed!
Mordred may have been the face of the rebellion but Morgana was the one who planned the entire thing for years.
I love this series so much you do such an amazing job making these videos please keep them up
For so long I never cared for Mordred.
But after watching a lot of F/A and reading I think he a pretty cool character overall.
Good video as always.
OOOOOH you made one for Mordred. Good on you!
Mordred is one of my favorite knights of tragedy of the original legends lore and such love her role in Apocrypha…Tomboy Mordred is legit
Some Yakuza Dad With a Beard Yes. The grail wars were a humbling experience for her.
Especially if you'd think they would meet again in the Throne of Heroes, sadly they most likely won't. As caster Amadeus Mozart said in Grand Order:
"There are many heroes in the Throne, as there were stars in the sky, for us to even see each other in such afterlife would be next to impossible."
It is possible but in a one in a million chance. Akasha is a stickler when it comes to managing even their afterlives.
Some Yakuza Dad With a Beard Well they're a team in my Chaldea lol. Also there's a lot of awesome art with the two together. I think it's legit possible.
The thumbnail for this video is gorgeous.
Josh Evans I know^^. The artist is listed in the description.
I love when you spoke with much emotion when you were talking as the characters.
Arturia Pendragon Thank you^^
Remember guys incest is never wincest.
Isaiah Demby Don't forget kids born of magical dicks don't live long. It's like inbreeding squared.
Isaiah Demby except when its with morgan le bae
Except in GoT.
OtakuDaiKun. R.I.P. Ilyasveil and Irisveil.
Technically, it was rapecest...
I would love to see Mordred and Shirou interact while Artoria present
Arturia got a really muscular back, like damn 1:02 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Mordred the greatest of characters who claims the title of best son and best girl
OtakuDaiKun You make the Fate Lore Shine with Glory and Love. I love your Work and Mordred deserved recognition from her own Mother Artoria.
I love Mordred so much, she is a true Wonder I would give my life for.
@@strafe_breaker3440 no because of morgan's curse mordred is able to wound artoria eh this comment is two years ago I assume you know that by now.
Mordred and kairi sat. Death was coming. The necromancer laughed.
"Ya know, that kid was a prick. But damm he did it."
Mordred sighed.
"Well im not dissipearing like a little bitch, lets find a way out of here yeah?"
"You sure you can even support me?"
Mordred laughed.
"Oh please i put arthur on his ass despite dying,i can carry a guy like you!" Mordred remarked morbidly.
"Yeah,true."
By the skin of there teeth the 2 got out. After landing on a hill nearby the necromancer looked at the dragon. Smiling.
"Well...ill be dammed."
"Huh? Master what are-....damm it!" Mordred exclaimed in defeat.
"Well. Seems like noone won huh."
"Looks like." Mordred said sighing.
"So? Whats next?"
"Huh?" Kairi said confused.
"Well were still alive and we aint dead yet,so? Whats next for kairi sisigou and mordred?"
"I dunno...never really did well with partners."
"Oh what? Look we might have lost but we were fucking badasses back there! I mean,i havent had this kind of a rush in battle since ages and hell,we did some good things in the end!" Mordred spoke proudly. Kairi sighed.
"You really arent gonna leave even with the war over are you?"
"Ha! Id like to see whod try and stop me."
Kairi sighed again. Then got up carefully.
"Well. This might be one screwed up world. But why don't we try changing that somewhat?" Kairi said.
"A necromancer and a knight huh. Well. Were still alive yeah? Why not,im in!" Mordred exclaimed.
"Yeah but...we should probably see a hospital..."
"Yeah yeah, come on old man,i got you." Mordred grabbed kairi and off they went.
Huh...so the grails headed to avalon then. Aint that ironic. Galahad you absolute tool you might have been on to something...
unbelievably tragic the well produced music timings only makes the freshly cut onions all the more intense.
The Bae Cometh.

I'm sure Mordred can be acknowledge by her dad, if she can prove herself and that she is the important knight that cannot be replaced
wow sisigou kairi changed mordred in a pretty good way i would say. We need more talented and charismatic masters like him
He also brings a good name to necromancers who are usually seen as evil in most works. We need more good necromancers.
Mordred is my number 1 favorite saber of all time!!!
I find Mordred to be cool in most respects as she does not really hide herself behind a mask like Artoria when she was alive. I'm not sure if anyone made a connection but I see Mordred in the same light as Starscream himself from the Armada series; I remember the scene Galvatron recalls the last words of Starscream (waking him up) and when he berated his minions as he pointed out that; Yes, Starscream did betray him but he never strayed from the Descepticon code; this brings a smile to my face as this fits Mordred too.
holyforce000 Except for the part where she literally doesn't show her face. You're talking personality though.
OtakuDaiKun Yeah
Didn't Mordred steal Clarent when Artoria went on her expedition? It wasn't bestowed to her.
But the story line is all wack as she has the sword when being arthurs loyal knight..
Your video help me understand Mordred much better and how come King Arthur flaws too. Excellent facts!
Karna & mordred are the best servants with all fates combined
First video I've seen on your channel. I loved it. Very well read
Very interesting. Only recently I found your channel and I already love it. Great work on Fate's heroes and it really helps to understand those heroes a bit better.
I'm looking forward to yours next video.
Waiting for Joan of Arc...
"Saber! Stop chasing the cat!"
"Neeeevvvvveeerrrrrrr!"
Brw you really do have awesome pictures to show I like the animations do you explaining the. Stories props to you man
Mordred = best waifu
Indeed
I won’t be surprised if Morgan Lafay gets her own character if they fate go in the all the conversations about one another
MrJoshua93 That would be a great idea.
HOLY CRAP. WOW. Thanks for this, man!
Yeah!!!! Thanks man!!! It’s about time!!!
I'd be pretty f**king mad if my mom was also my aunt too.
Why? Mordred actually adored Artoria, but hated Morgan well before she knew the truth.
Mordred is best tomboy. I wonder how would Artoria would react if she end up walking in on Shirou and Mordred at the wrong time.
She would feel bad, like getting cheated on.
No bully mordered is the key from this lore
i've been really looking forward to this
Mordred is like the Shadow to Artoria’s Sonic.
love your narration men.
Merlin: Here! FUTANARI NO JUTSU!
Artoria: Wut?
Morgan: Ooh! Free realestate!
Mordred: :D
So in other words, the treason was committed due to misunderstandings.
Yes.
You know how this could have ended well? Artoria TEACHES Mordred how to be a king.
nonaes Agreed
Great lore video, like always
dammit! Mordred needs love! give her love!!!
Shishigou and mordred were the best master and servant team in the fate apocrypha anime.
If Artoria wasn’t such a heartless person, her country may have never fallen. This was her failing as king, as she’d realise in Fate Stay Night

*Closes RUclips and opens chrome in incognito*
I must research this thoroughly.
Hell yea I've been waiting of this one.
when i think of family issues i think of this
Nico Republic Quite disfunctional.
:)
Want to just give him a big o hug and say it's alright
I want an anime dedicated to the back stories of every hero
Great video!!! Both Mordred and Artoria are great characters. So The whole Artoria having the gentleman's rod by Merlin was a tempory thing or was it a permanent attachment? Because I've been trying to get more info. Also if this was a permanent thing even her time of the Holy Grail Wars. I will never forgive you, Merlin.
stridin Temporary ram rod.
this is really awesome. i wish i could watch this series, but i cant find the damn thing
Chase Meek As far as legal streaming it's exclusive to Netflix.
@@OtakuDaiKun makes sense. cant wait to switch over in a year or 2. thanks for telling me about it though!
Sooo, futa Saber is canon? Fuck yeah!
Wish in a grail war we'll get to see them fight and make up. Dem feels. Mordred vs Artoria Lancer would be great.
BTW can you do a lore for Ishtar plz ? ^_^
Burai Murian I've got a lot to learn bout her.
The first recorded yandere in History Gilgamesh can attest to that
Tony Infinite *Tsundere
69memedaddy 69 No, Yandere. She openly wanted Gilgamesh, unlike a Tsundere's cat-ish ways of acting too shy to admit it, and when he refused, she tried to have him killed.
But Marik isn’t in Fate
So what's gonna happen if Mordred and Aurthor meet again what kind of feelings they gonna express wow so eager to know it
We get a sample of that in the Camelot and summer events.
I love Mordred. Such a cool character.
i wish there could have been an ending with Arturia accepting Mordred and taking her as the king's son
Would Mordred ever come back in future Fate series because I don't want he to be a one off appearance.
It’s where your mom’s your dad and your dad’s your brother.
