Oh Norwich, how pretty it still looks. I spent a day photographing around there what, 13 years ago already, and loved the details of the city. We rented a thatched cottage by the seaside. What fond memories, maybe my best holiday ever. Need to come back one day. I'm actually here because I'm researching for lenses but the city is just so interesting. Gonna continue my watching now...
14:00 great shot of the reflection in the barber shop window. I would put it in a photo book. Love the fact that it doesn't show more than the shoes . Well done
Congrats on your gear upgrade, Deryn! Do you prefer the AF joystick of the R6 to the touch and drag af of the R? IBIS aside, the joystick is an aspect that has me considering upgrading from the R. Great POV session!
Thank you! I really love the joystick, I’m still training myself to use it as I’ve gotten so used to it not being there. But it’s a game changer for sure!
I just got the R6, upgrading from a T7i (800d). I absolutely love it, so far. I really want to get into street photography, but I get really nervous about taking random people's photos. I feel like they're going to get mad or worse, lol. I live near Chicago, and you never know how someone will react.
That’s a great upgrade! I would say to just always stay respectful, don’t get right into people’s spaces and they usually don’t mind, start off in quite populated and busy areas - you’re less likely to get noticed that way because people are too busy doing their own thing. I would honestly suggest just giving it a try and seeing how you go and how you feel. Thank you for watching 😊
It's easier in my own opinion with a film camera (Pentax Spotmatic) or an old look camera (X100F) than with a "modern look" camera. People do not react the same. In Paris, people can have bad reaction... All the more so as you are not allowed in France to use the image on internet and so on.
Love your enthusiasm, I have the R5 with the same lens, I haven't used it much as I primarily do wildlife with a longer lens. Thanks for your time and effort
@@samanthatrigos6460 It is a bit slow when it comes to this, but the trick is to lock the focus on the range you work on, and then if you change it you can use your hand or another intermediate object to guide it towards another range. It takes a few minutes getting used to when you first use this lens, but you quickly get the hang of it and the optics and range are so good that it makes up for it. It's a necessary trade-off for the wide focus range.
You got superb photos! I love how you edit the pictures and the colors that you get. I need that 85mm lens too 🙂 I currently use my R6 with the EF 85mm f1.8 but using the adaptor bothers me quite a lot. I read that the RF 85mm is very slow focusing but it doesn't seem so in your video...
Thank you! For photos, the lens isn’t slow at all, especially if you change the focussing distance switch on the lens. However, for video I would say it does suffer a little, it takes a lot longer to find focus. So if you’re primarily stills, I think it’s a fantastic lens! 😊
Thank you! Possibly, if it’s something people really want. I’m not very clued up on the technical differences so could only compare from a functionality point of view having used them both professionally 😊 thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing. I am still deciding on this lens and if I should get RP or R6. Can I ask you how did you make this slideshow, showing picture with the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Thanks.
Hi! I’ve just bought the eos R with the standard lens. Going to New York next month and wanted to know what lens you’d suggest for street photography and taking photos of the buildings? Would prefer to only take one lens if possible!
Hey! If you’re taking only one lens I would recommend a nice versatile zoom, maybe a 24-70 or 24-105. So you’ve got a nice wide angle but also telephoto too. Hope this helps! 😊
Great pov deryn. loved it. I have a x100v and was about to buy a xt4 but am now considering the r6. Have you used the xt4 and how does it compare to the r6 considering I wanna shot some video
Hi Deryn, love to watch this video. Is that RF 85mm f2.0 macro istm? If yes, I might consider to buy it :) is there any issue about the lens so far? Tbh for some reasons it's difficult to get third party native lenses for RF mount at this point I am very disapointed with Canon. Made me consider to switch to A7IV :( thanks.
Hey! Thanks for watching. This is the RF 85mm f2 yes! I personally think it’s a great lens for photography, capturing video is sometimes where I notice it’s limitations with autofocus speed etc. but overall I’m super happy with this lens. I know, it’s very frustrating - I’m still hoping that Sigma can somehow bring out some RF glass. Part of me thinks Canon could be planning on releasing a massive line of their own slightly more cost effective f 1.4 range and that’s why they’re not working with third parties…but maybe that’s me being optimistic! Thank you for watching
Hello Deryn, Thanks for the video. Any thoughts on RF 50 mm 1.8 over this one ? I need one macro for my R6, i am going to use primarly for petsonal use in addition to my RF 24 to 70 f2.8. What would you recommend ? Thanks!
Thank you for watching! I haven’t used the RF 50mm 1.8, but I’m hopefully going to get my hands on one in the new year 😊 have you seen the RF 100mm 2.8 Macro? I’ve heard it’s amazing. I feel like you can’t really go wrong with any RF lenses, they’re all great
I can only afford the R6 upgrade but I don’t want to lose the extra MP (I enjoy cropping heavily) coming from the R. Hopefully the R5 price comes down.
Photoshop now has a feature where you can increase the megapixels in a photo! I know lots of people who have used it and are really impressed with the quality when cropped. Something maybe to consider as the R6 really is fantastic. Thank you for watching 😊
The older man with the tattoos, carrying the bags is my favorite ! Very well done !
Mine too! Thank you
literally about to go buy my r6 today, this made me more excited for it.
Woo! You’re going to love it

Thank you so much, that’s such a lovely comment
i came for street photography but i would have 100% stayed for doggo footage! LOL
14:00 great shot of the reflection in the barber shop window. I would put it in a photo book. Love the fact that it doesn't show more than the shoes . Well done
Thanks so much!! My aim is to one day make a photo book, I’m just so critical of my own photos
Got the r6 last month and I can't wait to take it on the streets!

Thank you so much! I would love to try wildlife photography
Those videos are so enjoyable to watch. Btw, I got the same 85mm lens as you after watching one of these videos, and I love it. Thank you!
Wow thank you so much! I’m so glad you love the lens too 😁
Is this the 85mm f2 macro?
@@samanthatrigos6460 Yes, great lens! One of my absolute favourites now :)
@@lsamoa thank you for replying!! Is it really very slow for it focus from macro back to a longer length?

The shots you get on this camera are so sharp 🥵🥵
Fire shots Deryn! Always fun shooting with you!
Hi Deryn! Do you shoot these in raw? Beautiful photos!
Beautiful shots 👌🏻 really enjoyed this POV!
Thank you! I really enjoyed making it 😁
Nice shots!
