It’s good to see someone enjoying the 85 f2. A lot of people weren’t crazy about it when it first hit the market. Well done. Now I just need to begin using mine more lol
I will never stop being amazed by your photography! So many amazing shots, but that woman against the store front just takes the cake. Although that lighting on southbank was pretty sick too!
What is your focusing strategy when using this lens? Zone focusing? I noticed there aren't any scales outside of the focusing limiter so I;m curious how you get tack sharp images even when shooting at f2.0
Hey mate how are you enjoying it despite bad reviews of its focus I just ordered it for weddings can I get your insights as I don’t want 1.2 version because i am mostly at 2.2
Great video, thanks. I also watched your video with the Viltrok 85mm 1.8 lens. Between the Viltrox 1.8 and the Canon 2.0, which do you prefer and recommend? Im looking into getting an 85mm and not sure which of the two i should go with. Thanks!!!
Great video as always. I’m sure I spotted you near the lloyds building on Saturday, taking some look up shots and a shot of a well dressed gent. If it was you next time I might say hello I didn’t want to interrupt you.
Loving the video as always :). . You mentioned cropping your image at one point, are many of the images you post during the videos cropped? Im asking as I’m still new to photography and still getting used to focal length with different lenses. Could you show some uncropped/cropped comparisons in a video, just so I can see the difference in the scenes and photos taken. Im using a crop sensor camera, so this will help me judge the distance to shoot at and what lens would be equivalent. You’ve mentioned in previous videos that you travel to London to take the phots, how far (distance) do you travel? Thanks and once again Im loving what your doing., keep it up :)
Hey! Thanks for the comments on my recent videos mate. I've only just come around to see them. I appreciate you watching the videos. The course was only available for a limited time, I don't have any training available online anymore. Maybe in the future though! Thanks again.
I am debating between the Canon 85 mm f/2 and the Viltrox 85 mm f/1.8 for street photography with my Canon R6. I have read that the Canon 85 mm f/2 has slow autofocus that hunts. Did you experience this at all? Would you recommend the Canon 85 mm f/2 for street photography? What about the Viltrox? Thanks a lot! Great video.
The canon 85mm f2 was quicker and easier to focus in my opinion. The Viltrox is great, but my my experience it does hunt around a little bit. Not terribly though. So it's still a great bit of kit but it depends on your budget. I have just released a new video sharing my thoughts on the 85mm for street photography, I think you will find it interesting.
for street photography what option to buy u recommend? 35mm 1.8 stm vs 85mm f2 for one canon r6?? now have ef 50mm 1.8 usm with adapter and rf 24-105 l4 thank u bro
I live in Vegas and every time I go downtown for some street photography. Every soul on the planet looks at me when I take their photo. I’ll even hide and they still find the camera
@@MikeChudley :) more than welcome brother, i ve got a you tube channle as well feel free to check out my vids. If you are ever in the Chester area area drop us a DM would love to shoot some street bangers with you and grab a coffee.
this lens is a great lens.. i barrowed it... but chose not to buy it because i have the 28-70 f/2 and the 70=200 f/2.8 RF lenses. But it is indeed a great super lens. I'm considering selling my RF 24mm macro 1.8 lens and get this as i dont shoot with thr 24 at all.
You are really good at this focal length! Great shots.
Ahh too kind Tom! Thanks
@@MikeChudley I cannot find a link to your training course. Where is it ?
ahh the classic "nono you walk through ill just wait til u pass" bait n switch 😂
You know exactly what’s that’s like 😂
These shots are honestly insane!! You’re really good with the 85mm mate, some serious bangers in here!! 🔥
Ayyy thanks Tom! Thanks for watching my guy
The lens, quality-price is awesome but it’s even better you shooting it.
Wow 🙌🏽
It’s good to see someone enjoying the 85 f2. A lot of people weren’t crazy about it when it first hit the market. Well done. Now I just need to begin using mine more lol
Thanks 👍 Sure is a fun lens! It's so clean and sharp too, not sure why people hate on it haha
Its a beautiful lens if not for the crappy AF Canon put in it to ruin otherwise excellent product.
@@CZOV I sold mine lol

That's too kind mate - brilliant day with great light made it easy for us haha
Take a shot every time Mike praises the light conditions :D Great pictures man!
haha yeeeee
You know when it has "chilled" in tittle it's a banger.... and it was👍
Hahhaa yeaaah, it was a chilled day - I loved it
Great video! Wanted to ask you, would you choose this over the EF 85 mm F1.8?
Great photos, it looks so great that I would also like to go around the city taking photos..
i knew this was gonna be awesome after seeing the first photo! awesome stuff Mike!!!
yeee, thanks mate! appreciate it
The mirror shot is sick mate 💪

Masterclass!
Great videos! What focus settings do you use?

I get my 85mm F2 delivered tomorrow. Let’s go!!!!!!

I think the canon is quicker to focus. But honestly it makes no noticeable difference in terms of image quality.
@@MikeChudley What about the Samyang (Rokinon)? How would those two compare for street portraits? Which is better to focus?
Hey Mike I wanted to know if you had to have some photography skills for your ultimate street photography guide or can you be a beginner?
It’s perfect for beginners!
Hi Mike. You shootings with a Canon R6 or mk II ? Nice images,..😊
More videos like this!

Haha fair
Great watch as always
Much appreciated
Love The 85mm 🔥sweet🔥
Yeaah its veryyy good!
Great shots! Did you use any lens filter when you took these shots?
Hi Mike, you mentioned your Ultimate Street Photography Course and a link, but I don’t see a link to click on. How can I find this course? Thanks!

You may have just convinced me to pick up this lens.
Nice photos
Thank you!!
2:30 is so sweet
Yeaa I thought that haha
the "ur alright" then the shot.. lol
so stoked on that image haha
Watched video that you made with Viltrox. What lens would you recommend more? Canon or Viltrox? Viltrox is still almost half the price
Great vid. What’s the best Lens for street photography?
35mm, 50mm or 85mm I think 👌🏻
5:21 its a 🔥 shot bro !!
What camera are you using to film the video? A GoPro?
any thoughts on canon 85mm 2.0rf vs 3rd partys (yonguno, viltrox, samyang)
I've got some videos with both those lenses!
I have to ask -- were you just guessing at the apertures and shutter speeds, etc? If so, wow. If not, how? thanks....
Self taught over the years. I have a full online guide that covers this detail if you're interested.
Is 35 mm good for Street photography, because I have the 85mm from sigma , but it's the older one and it's really heavy to carry around all day.
what do you think about the samyang RF 85 1.4?
Nice video

Probably the 35mm it's more versatile I think - but it all depends what you like shooting - thanks for watching mate
I noticed you use your lcd screen to take photos. Is there a reason for that?
For the video so the viewers can see it live view style
What picture style you use in camera ?
una preguanta,, el 85mm f2 macro va muy lento en el enfoue de video ¿es normal? tarda bastante en enfocar..
3:21 by order of the peaky blinders
try the RF100mm Macro, that lens is Sharp sharp Sharp.
note taken!

The old man in China Town was waiting for his balloon sword off the clown there!

Lots of portrait orientated shots; do you think this is were are slowly growing accustomed to portrait due to phones and iPads?

What is "fo oh"?
0:34 that is not the same person. 😀
sigma 1.4 or this?
Turn off the auto focus beep.
If this isn't the best comment then i don't know what is
the constant subtitles are a little annoying to be on the screen, would love for you not to continue that lol
Note taken!
shooting in harsh sunlight aint for me unfortunately unflattering images ....
POV ? What is POV ???
Point of view
Is the autofocus ok?
F-me! Odd way of shooting with a camera! You kids are killing it, there is a future for humanity after all!
