I liked the previous name of the video more. Now I don't even know where to find the info of what lens you're using
With a kit lens? Oh, the horror! Seriously, many great photographers have taken great photos with not great lenses. Really, in decades past that's all they had. One guy recently did a video with a bunch of great photographs that had people oohing and aahing. At the end, he disclosed that he did it with a freaking cell phone.
You don't need gear costing tens of thousands (or even thousands) to take great photos. A $500 Canon set with two lenses does great in the right hands whereas a Leica or Hasselblatt in the wrong hands does horribly.
This expensive gear obsession is like those golfers that think if they buy an ultra expensive set of golf clubs that they'll somehow be better golfers while the guys on the PGA Tour could still beat most people in the world at golf with a set of yard sale clubs from the 1960s.
You are the living proof that the gear doesn't make the photographer Pierre !

He still did use a 2000 euro+ camera though. Would be cooler to see him use a beginner camera for around 100 - 200 euro.

As a beginner/amateur photographer, the only lenses I use are my kit lens and a 35mm f/1.8 and I honestly love the kit lens and I feel like I don't need to upgrade any time soon 🤝🏼

Hey Pierre, as a 13 year old in middle school, NJ, you have inspired me to get super creative and to get motivation with street photography. I travelled to Toronto (Canada) a few months ago and I took a full day of shooting amazing photos (at least what I think is amazing) with my Canon 600D, but I was getting many looks. Do you have any tips to be more confident while photographing in the streets? Thank you again for being my inspiration, see you in the next video!
I always find my confidence is affected by how I appear. If I’m wearing all black trying to be inconspicuous and look serious I think people think I’m spying or antifa or something like that. If I wear some light casual clothes, maybe something colorful, and I smile/wave and behave like a tourist or a student, looking around for shots - people tend to think you’re harmless. It also helps to address the elephant in the room and say something nice.

@@thedevotedkrap People are always gonna look at you no matter what. especially in a busy cities we are all really curious so you'll always get looked at. just be yourself say hi. most people don't mind u taking photos of them. just do your thing.

These presets are crisp and have such character! I will look into these… thank you for sharing. It’s hard to find presets that are unique and subtle.

I’ve made a few POV videos with my kit lens as well!! It’s super refreshing to NOT have shallow depth of field. Makes you think about composition more 🤓 📷
I also love taking long exposure photos with the kit lens. Can’t shoot f/1.4 so might as well shoot f/11 and above 🙂.
It does have shallow DOF. You just need the subject closer and the background farther. You can’t just snipe like with an F2 lens.

I have the Sony a7iii and I still use the kit lens. I don't mind it. I bought a second lens, a Tamron 70-300mm. I'll eventually accumulate more lenses over time, I've been doing this for little over a year now. Love your videos Pierre. 👍✌
I like my 18-150 kit lens on my R10. I use it as my everyday out and about lens
I'm still what I feel new to my photography journey and I feel correct me if I'm wrong. I think if you have enough light and have a decent mindset for the arts you still can get nice results for a kit lens.

Wow, amazing photos and bokeh for a Kit lens @pierretlambert I currently shoot on the 24-105 F4 on the R6ii defs either wanting a telephoto or a prime next :D

Hi Pierre, Are you using a chest mounted gimbal with the GoPro? I have a Hero 8 with the regular gopro chest mount but the video does not stabilize well when walking. Basically I get the constant up and down while walking.
Any tips please?

no such thing as a "Wrong" lens. I use the Fujifilm kit lens ALOT aswell as 55-200mm or even a 12mm prime. It all depends on what you want! (I admit the Fuji Kit lens is damn good though, f2.8-4)

Depends what lenses you have already! Honestly the Canon and Sony colors are pretty close to me nowadays! The Canon back screen does look better though...
@@Pierretlambert j'utilise un a7rv et j'ai acheter un r6 mark II pour tester et j'avoue que les photos sur l'écran du canon sont super belle.. plus belle que quand je l'es transfert sur un pc ou autre chose alors que pour le sony c'est l'inverse je trouve les photos très moche sur l'écran et plus jolie quand je l'es transfert sur un autre écran

are the kit lens that bad? I'd just be starting out basically besides a cannon m50 mk1. I'm new to all the lenses. Like how is a 35mm only lens better than one that does 25-105mm? Why cant you just set it 35mm and have it be the same?

Hi Pierre, The people are friendly in Iceland , from the American man to the famous Actress. I especially liked the Church, It reminded me of the International Space Station. Where the Rocket Ship will launch. Also I liked the photo of the man with the Cigarette, That photo looked good In Black and White. I was Impressed with the Zoom Lens, it took great photos. It was nice to see Iceland again. Thank you very much for this enjoyable video, It was Gnarly.

I like you Pierre, but why show of the R6 II with the worst lens possible? Only lens that would be worse is the 24-55 f5.6 kit lens.
As an admirer of your work/youtube channel/photos...I have to tell you what I think. Lately, you have shown to be dissatisfied with the number of views of your videos. You try to blame it on the algorithm or something else. But maybe it would be good for you to start rethinking your work on youtube. You haven't evolved. The quality has gone down. It's been more of the same. I'm sorry. I could give you many youtubers/artists as examples...but I'll pick just one. Faizal Westcott. He has 4 times less subscribers than you and in the last 6 videos he's had twice as many views as you. I'm writing to try to help. Go for it!
I would do anything to get a r6 mk2 with kit right now but im stuck with 18-55😂
