    I love listening to audio books. I listen to them while I'm doing laundry or other cleaning. I love the feeling of being able to "read" and accomplish other things that need to be done at the same time. And of course I love listening while I'm driving. One of my favorite audio books is The Help. The narration is great!

    Audio books are a great tool for reading on the go. We're trying to set daily reading goals rather than saying we're going to read a certain number of books. Keeps us working everyday. Good luck with your goals!

    Reagan! You're going to love audiobooks (I hope)! They're so convenient! I listen while I drive to school, between classes, while I do chores, and even at work sometimes! Definitely an easy way to get around to some books you just can't get through the physical versions of!

    It's so great to hear that I'm not the only one that pushes myself way too hard. It's definitely a good resolution to get that under control. You're more than capable of it as am I! Let's make 2016 the year of self-love and understanding!

  • @GaiaSteinbuch

    Last year I set myself lots of reading goals and I felt too pressured by them in the end, so this year I've decided to just read what I feel like. I totally agree about putting pressure on yourself, I do that too.

    My personal resolution is to be less hard on myself and more relaxed in 2016. I've had to keep reminding myself of it this past week but I already think it's helping :). Best of luck with your resolutions too

    I get most of my audiobooks via my local library! Many libraries are part of Overdrive or some other type of e-audiobook lending app. It's great! I love listening to them while I drive, cook, do chores, work out, etc.

  • @StarstruckFerSure
    @StarstruckFerSure 8 лет назад

    I struggled with audiobooks at first, but I've been listening to them regularly the past couple years (have listened to ~100) and love them! I can get a lot more reading done since a lot of times my eyes are too exhausted and blurry to read but I'm still mentally awake if that makes sense, so I can listen in bed or while cooking, etc.
    My all-time favourite audiobooks are: The Book Thief, The Diviners series, The Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy,
    The Girl With All the Gifts, and any Neil Gaiman audiobook. :) The Harry Potter ones are wonderful of course too.

    One of my bookish goals this year is to not stress about reading and about how many books I'm reading per month, per year, etc. I want to keep reading a priority, but I don't want it to feel like work.

  • @sandyreadsalot

    Lovelovelove audiobooks! Perfect for traveling, walking, working out, and doing house keeping stuff! The Half Bad series is absolutely amazing as an audio book! The actor is great! I totally recommend that series as a firsty! Also the Song of Ice and Fire is a lot easier to get through via audiobook! Woohoo! Love your videos!

    Your last goal is just perfect and hope a lot of viewers join you on that goal. I know I am! Along the same lines I am setting a goal to love and enjoy and appreciate all the things I own. I LOVE to shop but honestly do not need for anything. I am like most woman who have loads of clothes, perfumes, jewelry, etc. I buy more and more when I have plenty of unused at home. This is the year that I use what I have, appreciate that I have it and really learn the difference between needs and wants.

    I love audiobooks! I have been using Audible for YEARS. I wasn't as actively listening to audiobooks recently, so one of my New Year resolutions is to listen to more audiobooks :)

  • @bookventures6156
    @bookventures6156 8 лет назад

    I'm a huge audiobook reader (I get to listen to my music all day at work, that quickly dissolved into audiobooks!) so here's my two cents:
    Some of the best audiobooks I've enjoyed are ones based on some type of personal daily entry (journal, diary, etc) they're basically written for audiobooks! Two of my favorites that follow that line are: The Martian and Flowers for Algernon.
    Good luck with your resolutions!

    I set a page goal for myself instead of a book goal. I actually wish goodreads would offer that because it doesn't put pressure on book length. And audiobooks read by the author are awesome. I also love full cast audiobooks.

    Huge audio book fan here. You can also listen to a lot of digital audio book through your local public library. My public library has an Overdrive subscription and also an Axis360 Subscription. They allow me to download audio onto my phone. It's fabulous. Hope you find some fabulous audio books.

    My New Year's Resolution was to be more brave!
    In the past I've let my anxiety keep me from doing things that I want to do, or trying things that I'm unsure about.. And I just, wanna leave all of the self-doubt and fear behind me. Use 2016 to discover all of my amazing qualities, all of my strengths and acknowledge that everything will be okay, but it'll be BETTER if I take chances and do things that I want to do. :D
    My bookish goals however, are to get back into reading. I fell out of it in 2015, I wanna start by reading 2 books a month and also one audio book a month. Something small but manageable. :3

  • @Tiikerijenny
    @Tiikerijenny 8 лет назад

    Yay for audio books!
    Once you get into it, it's really an amazing way to experience a story. Neil Patrick Harris book on audio was also great, if you like to add another celebrity to the listing list.
    Highly recommend Wil Wheaton as a narrator too, especially when he reads John Scalzi novels (funny sci-fi). So freaking good.
    My goals are as usual to read 120 books and read all the unread books on my shelves. I want to get to "the wise man's fear" soon.
    Good luck on your goals.

  • @ColorMeSinful
    @ColorMeSinful 8 лет назад

    My goodreads goal is to read at least 60 books! Which to me, I'm kind of breaking it down to at least 1 or 2 novels a month and then the rest being either graphic novels or manga! I also like your goal of reading what you want because lately I've been kind of bored of seeing so many booktubers talk about the same books in their videos. Which is one of the reasons why I like your channel because you don't just talk about the same new releases as every one else! :)

    Good luck with your goals/resolutions! I have a few as well.
    I want to eat healthier, exercise 3-5 days a week, drink more water, read more books (and all of my TBR books), write in a journal at least twice a week, learn and study harder and the one thing that is the biggest goal but is not really up to me anymore is becoming a FLEX exchange student.

    Audiobooks are awesome! Some are much better than others. In some ways, it's a totally different "reading" experience. If there's a great narrator, it can bring the characters to life. As a commuter, they are awesome. Enjoy! :)

    Amy Poehler's book is hilarious and she has guest speakers come in and read too so it's awesome to listen too. Two tips I have for when you start listening to audio books. First tip always listen to the sample before you buy cause you don't want to end up with someone sounding annoying reading a book to you. Second tip, try to get longer books because you'll be surprised by how quickly you can get through a book, its better to get a bigger bang for your buck.

    The last one is so relatable, like yes that's me all the time but I'm pretty sure I wont stop doing that, since school is just like urgh and I have to choose which language to study in my 2nd year and I don't know which one I should choose because I want to continue with Russian but there might not be a class and the same time I want to study French because it's safer with classes and I'll get more merits but I'm not sure I'm able to study that either, urgh.... And I'm trying to get into law school after this and then I need like more than all A's like noooo, I'm tired sorry for my rant. Awesome video and good luck with your reading and everything else this year, love ya

    I want to try audiobooks as well, for those books that i am kind of on the fence, not sure if i will like them or not.
    Aside, i have set me GR challenge at 50 - litle higher than last year, but i feel i will be able to do it.

    I highly suggest you listen to the Harry Potter books. Jim Dale is an amazing narrator!
