      +Thoughts on Tomes Not because of the rating but of all the things you didn't like. I completely understand that to each their own but it was still kinda painful to hear. I also saw some other negative reviews on Winter but, fortunately, nothing can change my wonderful experience reading the book :)

    I will never finish the House of Night series by PC Cast. I made it to the third one and gave up cause its 12 books long and it wasn't great. I didn't care for the characters and the story got a bit ridiculous. The main character had like 4 love interests.

    • @annah7796
      @annah7796 8 лет назад +9

      I read the series when I was on the naïve side of life and really enjoyed it, i think that it was a good concept but bad execution. I really liked the whole idea behind it and the basis but it just got to the point where it was ridiculous. And obviously now that I matured, I see that and many other flaws. And I realized how much I dislike Zoey, like 3 boyfriends and keeping secrets from your bestfriends is just absolutely ridiculous

    • @user-rj2iw2fg5m
      @user-rj2iw2fg5m 8 лет назад +7

      +Annah I relate to this sooo much it's painful. I've read the first ELEVEN BOOKS in the short period of TWO WEEKS. I was, to be frank, obsessed. When I had to wait for the last book I realised how bad they actually were and how dragged out the series was. Like more than half of the plot was random and there was no need for it. The series should've ended ALOT sooner than it did, in my opinion.

    On a little more serious note Regan I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I just wanted to thank you for how you handled this video. it's so nice how you explicitly stated that you didn't care much for the books anymore, but you did it in a gracious manner in which you didn't make us, those who do care about them, feel bad. Thanks for that!! bc idk but when it comes to me I get really sensitive and defensive and angry when someone goes off about one of my favorite series, but this video didn't make me upset because you have completely understandable reasons as to why you weren't interested, and you didn't just throw the books down onto the dirt and stomp on them along with my heart.
    but to sum it all up, this video is awesome and I loved it and thank you!!!

As for the first two, I personally really enjoyed them even though I'm not a big fan of Sci-Fi to begin with but they have some really good character arcs and and an interesting love story. They're also quite action packed and easy to get through so I would recommend them.

    I read the second book in the These Broken Stars series the end of last month, and it was quite good and I'm looking forward to reading the conclusion, it did take me a while to like and get to know these two new characters (Jubilee and Flynn)-however Lilac and Tarver do pop up in this book a bit-when things start to unravel and gets exciting. The third book I believe is about one character we meet in the This Shattered World and someone else, but the four previous characters are also in that I think!
    It's a good read, and I think you might enjoy it! There's no harm in trying the second book at least!
    I'm also glad someone else thought the Grisha trilogy was 'eehhh'.

    I finished the These Broken Stars trilogy and honestly I love all of the books. I like the new characters for every book because they all have such different personalities, and I love each of them. You'll get more into the overarching plot as you read and more will be revealed. Plus, the older characters do make appearances in the later books since they tie together (:
    Personally, I think I've given up on the Half Bad trilogy. I gave book 1 3 stars, and I've been telling myself to read Half Wild, but it just isn't happening.

    DEFINITELY CONTINUE AFTER THESE BROKEN STARS! I loved the first book and was really hesitant about carrying on with the series as I've never read companion novels before and I wanted more of the first characters but honestly, carry on! In the second book you meet a new male and female lead in a new situation on a new planet but it is in no way samey! I was amazed how they could create two sets of male/female leads and they be so distinct, their personalities never blend together and trying to work out the mystery of the conspiracy running through the whole universe was so interesting! I really want to read the third but I'm on a book buying ban so I hope my boyfriend got me the last for Christmas as he knows how much I loved the first two :)

    Even though some of the series that you mentioned I love, I understand why you wanted to end them, especially if it has been a couple years or you just didn't feel anything for the characters from the start. I love watching all of your book videos!
    I stopped reading the Lux series because I was spoiled on what happened to my two favorite characters in the last book Opposition.

      Also so sad you're not finishing Legend and the lux series. Anyhow, I read the first book of Daughter of Smoke and Bone and it was ok (kind of confusing also that I read in spanish which is my native language) but yeah I'm not planning on continuing with the trilogy. it didn't blow me away so...

    Everyone has their own series that they won't finish like I do too. For example, I will never finish the Fallen series by Lauren Kate, The Saddle Club series by Bonnie Bryant, Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney, so on and so forth. Sometimes we just can't get excitement from a particular series.

    I'm also saddened that you werent able to finish the Sweet trilogy, I thought it was great! but then again, paranormal romances are a guilty pleasure of mine and you're right, it does end in the way you'd expect (mild spoiler) but not without some casualties...I actually teared up a bit. anywho, I cant say much about the others cause I havent read any of them but I hope your year is going well.

    I picked up the Sweet trilogy because of your reviews of it. You made it sound so interesting and you seemed to really like it so I gave it a go. And those books were absolutely ridiculous like you said to the point where they were almost laughable...well, they were laughable. I powered my way through the last one and you didn't miss anything.

    The starbound trilogy is amazing😍😍 The characters in the first book will make an appearance and are a big part of book three.The new characters in book two and three are so interesting to read about and their adventures lead back to book one.If you did like the first one I highly recommend finishing the series😊

      +Laura Siqueira Cavalcanti I also really loved the ending. End of Days is one of my favorite books of 2015. I honestly don't get why some people don't like it. It didn't feel rushed, it was all epic and Penryn & Rafe!!

    I like the personal honesty, it's important particularly when you're running out of room on your bookshelves. Most series I don't really bother with, my general feeling is that a truly good book can get it done in one go. Don't get me wrong, once I start a series, I'm usually in it to win it and there are some that I love but the following are just some I have absolutely no interest in...Game of Thrones, Outlander, the Grisha Trilogy, and possibly Divergent although I did pick up the first book. I do have some that have been on the back burner for a long time but I'm hoping that I can make a serious push on some series in 2016. There are a lot of unfinished stories on my bookshelves and I feel I need to right that wrong.
