REMINDER: Never "feel bad" or "unaccomplished" that you didn't finish a series! It happens to everybody and even if it's a super popular series that doesn't mean that everyone has read the full thing. Plus SO MANY BOOKS SO LITTLE TIME! ❤️
abookutopia I won't finish the Immortals series by Alyson Noel ! And i feel so bad about it. It's been almost 2-3 years since I finished the 5th book, and I don't know, I don't feel like finishing it. One of the reason is because a friend told me it wasn't what she had expected, and that I was going to be disappointed. And I was like "ok, I'll just stop. I'm done". She wanted me to read it but then time passed and I forgot. And now I really don't have the courage because... well because ! Another book I would like to finish but I probably just will in a thousand years is the Eragon series. I really liked the first book ! I was in the secondary (i think you're calling it like that - i am french, so we're calling that period "collège", but for you "college" stands for "university"- this is so confusing) and it was the first book I borrowed and it was wonderful ! I'm trying to finish it but it's hard (plus, one of my books is falling apart, I don't get it !) Like you, I really loved Vampire Academy although I just read the first one, but I don't know if I'll read the next ones.. I spoiled myself the end... Well, I have a lot of books that I won't read (not as many as you have though), and I don't have any places to put them (my mangas are everywhere!) I just hope I'll be able to finish the Heroes of Olympus series. I want to know what happens to Percyyyy ! (although I've been spoiled, it doesn't matter) I really loooooooooooooove your channel, keep the good work :D
abookutopia There are plenty of books you won't be finishing that I also won't. I actually remember hearing about the fallen movie, i think it's coming out this year. I read the whole series and torment, in my opinion, was the worst one because of its pacing. Unearthly is one of the series I also won't be finishing but in part that's because i don't think the last book is coming out in my country. Hallowed came out in my country in 2012 and since then a lot of time has passed for me to read the last one in english. Other than that I won't be finishing Halo because I wasn't all that invested in that series.I really like watching your videos.
My friend had given me another book by Cynthia Hand that is WORTH THE READ. It's called The Last Time We Say Goodbye. I actually finished this book today and it touched my booky soul in ways I didn't know books could, you definitely check it out :)
@@grenoxiamaginus7114 It means literally like "I literally can't jump that high" or "I literally didn't see that coming" as opposed to saying something figuratively such is "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" or when you hear a song you really enjoy you could say "Yo, that song was fire"
do you know what really sucks…going on vacation with a book almost done and you forget to bring the next book. literally I am reading the fifth Harry Potter(for the first time) and I am ALMOST DONE and I'm not going home until next week and it's just like ugggghhh! why didn't you bring the sixth book,Emily? WHY??
i actually read both... and trust me did good not to read both.. mockingjay atleast kept u to continue reading... but allegiant was sooo slow.. and nothing major happend.. and it just ended flat.. dint enjoy it..
Agree. Alliegiant kind of ruined the series for me. Not because of the death that turned most people off but Four's whining and dumb decisions, the double perspective narration, the death serum which was a bunch of bs to me and the fact that Four nor anyone else could predict what Tris was going to do at the end of the book though all of the audience saw it coming. They really thought she was just going to let her brother die? That and nothing really got resolved to me. Mockingjay was better but the ending was kind of weird to me and I was sick of the love triangle by then.
+deartsygirl flem yepp.. the biggest turnoff was the double perspective.. after two books i cant even get myself to belive that four even had an pov.. i was confused most of the time whose perspective is that.. and when iam reading thinking it was tris and suddenly am like wait the gender does not match the line..
The book series I shall not finish is Divergent. I LOVED the first book, second book was ok and I didn't even finish the third. I feel like it should have ended with the first book or maybe even the second but it just wasn't that good to me.
The divergent movie was ok but insurgent the movie did not live up to the book honestly I don't think any movie of a book could ever live up to the depth of a book
Emma Ellingwood I agree completely. I also feel like the books went downhill, while divergent already wasn't great. I much prefer the hunger games series.
+HUNGERGAMES FANGIRL I remember reading that and being underwhelmed. I kinda want to read it again though for some reason. I guess dystopias make me really happy so even if they're not great, I love them.
I personally really didn't like it but I do have to say that the third book is better than the second and if you get bored you might as well continue it
I got through the first one (That one at least had some intriguing themes to help it). I only got through a fraction of the second one, though... nothing happened!
I began the second book Crossed like 3 months ago and i just can through it! It is sooooo slow. And i am pissed because i bought the whole triology and books in belgium are super expensive. I paid 50 euro for them. I think its almost 60 dollar (not sure). I currently reading other books, and i will try to continue that series as quick as possible and i HOPE that it will get better. Seriously.
Gone was AMAZING but I literally couldn't finish Hunger and my friend who was reading the series before me said she was disappointed by either Villian or Monster (I can't remember precisely) so I never tried to get back into it. It's a shame as the author was really good and I liked his style
If by Percy Jackson you mean Heroes of Olympus, then good call. I ADORED House of Hades, but Blood of Olympus was a HUGE disappointment 😓. However, if you're referring to the Last Olympian, please read it! It's arguably the best one in the original series!
I can't finish the Maze Runner series..I can't even get past like page 30 of Maze Runner. i have no idea why, what i read was ok but my mind just could not get into it haha anyone else feel that way about it?
Okay. I HATED the first part of the Maze Runner books. But, I was bored and I found it sitting on my shelf so I started reading it. In he second half, it got so so good. It had action, a giant plot twist, and a cliffhanger. The other books get even better :) so just wanted you to know it gets better
I probably won't be finishing the Shiver Triology by Maggie Steivater. I started reading the last one almost 3 years ago and haven't picked it up since oops
emilyspeaks I kept thinking about the same trilogy while watching this video! I loved Shiver, even though romance is not exactly my cup of tea. I've attempted so many times to finish the trilogy and I just CAN"T.
I'm not sure if you mixed this up on accident or not. The Unearthly trilogy by Cynthia Hand in order is: Unearthly, Hallowed then Boundless. My sister read them and loved them.
Never been as disappointed as I was when you showed bloodlines. My admiration of you lost 1% when you did that LOL I STILL LOVE YOU THOUGH ITS JUST THAT ITS MY FAVE SERIES AND UGGHH
I read the whole Fallen series a few years ago and it still is my all time favourite series..I get that you might not like it since the language she uses is kind of difficult and there's an excess amound of landscape description happening but I'd suggest you gave it a second chance because to be fair "torment" wasn't the best book of the series.. "Passion" was great and there's a lot of time traveling which is so accurate you actually feel like you're there and the last book of the series "ecstasy" is so intense I read it all in 1 day (after waiting for 2 years for its release) plus the Valentine's day special was incredible!!!
oh right!! "Ecstasy" is what the title was in my country and I thought it was the same in the english version too :P omg really???no I only new about the movie!! I'm excited now!!! I was so sad when I finished it!!!
ooooh, hahaha. yes! when you said 'Ecstasy' i immediately go to goodreads cause I thought 'Ecstasy' was the next book after 'rapture' and then I saw another book of Fallen series that is coming this year! me too!! fallen series is the only series I like about fallen angels
i really get that feeling of not finishing a series because its been so long in waiting for the next book to come out that you lose interest, thats why i try reading series that are already finished first or that are mostly finished (if they are long series) i HATE having to wait. The Bloodlines series is amazing btw i loved it! but i get that you are just not into the genre/subject at the moment as well, if you ever do get interested in reading about it again id definitely recommend it.
i didn't like the third book of mara dyer, but some people really did ! i'll probably never pick up delirium lol i really hated panic, so i can't imagined liking her other books i seriously need to pick up VA! but bloodlines sounds really cool too this was a great video!
With the third Mara Dyer book for me it was really weird, because I really loved the first half and then a bit over the middle it just kept going downwards.
I would seriously recommend VA and Bloodlines! I'm scared to read the last Mara Dyer book because of all the bad reviews but I think I'm going to try it anyway...
I LITERALLY JUST FINISHED PAPER TOWNS NOT EVEN 30 SECONDS AGO IM HAVING LIKE A HEART ATTACK AND SAYING WHY JOHN GREEN, WHY COULDN'T YOU MAKE IT A BIT LONGER!! 😭😭
YOU MUST PREVAIL! Ik, tsc isn't that great, but the death cure is really good! But I wouldn't recommend the kill order, only if you want to find out Teresa's backstory :)
Once I've started a book I have to push through and finish it even though I'm not enjoying it. It's some kind of weird OCD thing going on or something haha. Luckily it doesn't happen often. I'm quite good at deciding which books I think I will enjoy. The same goes for series. If I've started a series I need to finish it just so I can have some kind of closure. I don't like things unfinished.
I will not be finishing the Beautiful Creatures Series. I bought that book years ago and when I finally read the darn thing it took me 6 months to finish it because it was SO BORING. I also was not a fan of Delirium I read the first book and I honestly don't remember anything about that book.
HollyHeartagram Haha, I got a recommendation off a friend and so I bought half of the series thinking that they would be good, like Morganville that she also recommended and I loved, but I was very disappointed to say the least!
I honestly recommend that you do finish The Mara Dyer trilogy!! I loved the last book.. it was honestly a good book and I think you should give it a try I mean who knows maybe you will like it :-)
Waiting 2 years for a book? Girl, here in Venezuela will come in like 4 years and if they come, they will disappear. I didn't finish reading Delirium, i started because people were saying it was good and i read the first book but is not in my plans reading the second.
Totally feeling you on every series you mentioned! And one series I definitely won't be finishing is the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick. Didn't really care for the first book and I barely got half way through the second one before I had to give up. And the Halo series was a total disappointment. The first book was decent (and that's pushing it) but by the second book I was just too annoyed to finish. Also, the Blue Bloods series and the Immortal series are books I'm never going to finish as well. Great video! :)
Awww.. I'm sad to hear that you aren't finishing the Hush Hush series :( I swear the last book is amazing! It gets really intense and there is a huge plot twist! It isn't just the "main character girl" and a "mysterious boy"! I swear it gets better! Give it another chance if you can ;)
just finished the last bloodlines book and I am just so in love with it, which is kinda weird since I'm not really into the whole vampire thing. But I am however in love with characters that are perfectionists and over analyse everything. I also love how the author kind of broke the stereotypical vampire and all the complications, like human magic, alchemists, warriors of light and etc. I also loved how we got closure and mostly know how their lives will be from now on, and really, that's all I can ask for while reading a book. so I really recommend it.
You should read it! The books are amazing, and in my opinion, the third book ws good, not fantastic as the first two books, and perhaps a bit confusing, but I think everyone should give it a chance and not just put an X on the series just because other people hate it. Everyone has its own opinion, but honestly I would never not read a book just because other people didn't like it. P.S. sorry for my bad english, I'm foreign :):)
abook worm I only read the first novel, and then got to the second one and got to that whole part where she talks about the things she saw in the library, and it just really ticked me off, and I did not like the book, her, or the series. Not that it sucked, I just really hate how America is so whiny and sometimes (really) stupid.
Completely feel the same way about the Delirium series, I loved the first two books but from everything I've heard about the last one I don't wait to ruin it, also I couldn't get through 60 pages of it and have happily forgotten all of it.
Thank you for getting your info on the last books of some series from "reliable series." I once saw a booktuber say she wasn't finishing the Legend trilogy (GASP) because "people" said it was bad. I never understood where that came from - Champion is wildly popular and loved! Take your book info from a reliable source!
I'm sorry!! Lol. I just, I wasn't interested in the Mortal Instruments, they were kind of boring. As for Harry potter, I read the first three, I absolutely loved them!! I just didn't have the time to continue reading and all. I had read the first three in summer and then school started...
honestly I did the same thing with the Harry Potter series but I'm giving them a second chance, do the same with TMI, read the Infernal Devices first if you have to but don't give up on them lol they are so good!
Actually 'Hallowed' isn't the last book in the Unearthly trilogy...'Boundless' is. I've read the series and NONE of the books are sucky! It's okay if you decide not to finish the series, but I think you should definitely continue reading it as it only gets better. Also, I think that you might be a bit misinformed about the series as you thought the second book was the last (although I don't see how you could mix them up - if you've read the first two books like you said that you have, you'll definitely know that Boundless is not the second book) and I haven't heard any negative criticism from the series at all. Just my opinion, it's okay if you decide not to finish it, but I think it's to your benefit if you do (and I've read a LOT of books pertaining to angelic mythology, so I'm not just saying this for the sake of it).
I'm not finishing the Percy Jackson H.O.O Series, just because the plot line of Mark Of Athena didn't really please me. I read the first series and the first two books of the second series, though! ~Abby
Totally agree with the fallen series! My friend made me read them because she loved them but i struggled through them all and eventually gave up on the last book. It just went on forever..
I read the first two of the daughter of smoke and bone, and I really didn't enjoy them. I read legend and it was okay but I have no urge to continue. We just have different tastes I guess :)
I don't feel like I am going to finish the Mortal Instruments anytime soon. I started reading another book halfway through the City of Glass, and I kind of lost interest in it. I also don't really remember what happened so far and I don't want to go back and reread it.
Anna Lahr not going to tell you that you have to finish it but it really is good and City of Glass was amazing and so are the books after that. You're really missing out on a great series but hey its your life and you can do whatever you want😊
Anna Lahr I said the same thing I never wanted to read the sixth one Which is the last one because I barely read the fourth one, and I completely skipped the fifth because I wasn't interested in the plot line for it but I decided to read the last (6th) book when it was on sale just to give it a try and because I love long books and it was FANTASTIC! I definitely recommend you read it even if you don't read some of its predecessors, it doesn't make a huge difference bc they always explain what previously happened
The aesthetic one city of glass was horrible to me 😂😂😂 it's long and draggy. City of ashes was an amazing book and I'm finally on city of fallen angels! I like it but seriously COG was terrible until the last few chapters where It picks up
I’m in the exact same situation i just can’t continue city of glass it’s so boring nothing really happens and i got spoiled because i dumbly watched season one of the tv show thinking it was only the first book. Am i making any sense right now? I feel like I’m not...
YES to the delirium series! I read the first two books, and the last one I was just so incredibly bored, I gave up around the same point you did. It just dragged!!
Daniela Golfrè Andreasi Same. I read the first book years ago and soon after tried reading the second book. The main character was really bland if I remember correctly. There was some insta-love involved as well I think. I also really hate love triangles and that was a large portion of the first book.
Thank god, you didnt finish the Delirium series, I absolutely dreaded the ending. Then felt like I wasted my time even starting the series...*sigh*. So many people gave good rating on that book hence why I picked it up, but youre one of the few who feels the same way about that series !
I feel the same way towards fallen. And as for the movie, the trailer is coming out in June/ July during comic con and it'll be released in theaters this fall.
I've been wondering the same thing. I enjoyed the selection and the first half of the elite but not the second half. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read the one when it first came out, but now I'm second guessing myself. Mostly because I want to read the heir.
Those books are so fast paced! Honestly, I really enjoyed The One. It was fun, fluffy, and quick. Seriously, I read it in one sitting at night. Plus, you get to finish a series FAST! ;)
unearthly was read in the wrong order it is umearthly hallowed and then boundless im sorry but you need to read hallowed it has very important things happen
For the Fallen series, just read a detailed summary of Torment then proceed to Passion or Rapture. Rapture was actually a fun read for me. Also, I agree on what you said about the pacing of these books. Ugh it was really frustrating on how slow it was.
I ALMOST GAVE UP ON TORMENT AND ON THE SERIES BUT I SWEAR I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE GRATEFUL TO FINISH A SERIES. Not everyone likes it, but I did so much! And every time I recommend this series to someone the first thing I say is not to stop because of Torment...Torment was the one I liked the least but I swear everything makes sense at the end, it's all so poof so magically crafted! I loved the series so much.
I will not finish The Mortal Instruments series, it just doesn't pull me in as much as The Infernal Devices did so I just flat out stopped. I might or I might not continue reading The Iron Fey series, I read the first two books but I stopped because I was getting back into the Throne of Glass series. Its good and maybe one of these days I might go back to it, just not now. And I read Hush Hush but I didn't finish it, I also read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone but I didn't finish it either so I'm going to assume that I must not like angels.
Madison Herondale I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not going to. I read past halfway and there's nothing happening at all, nothing's happening and I couldn't stand it.
Oh Thehoon I'm the opposite with you on Cassandra Cass's books. I loved the TMI series but could not get through the Infernal Devices. I read the first one and got 10 chapters into Clockwork prince before I gave up.
people will hate me but I am never going to finish Vampire Academy. Rose Hathaway is the most annoying female lead I have ever had the misfortune to read.
Personally I thought Rose really had great character development throughout the series, and I thought that was really cool that she recognized her flaws, and always tried to work on them. But everyone'a different, if you don't like it, that's okay! Sometimes we don't jive with characters.
Divergent. I read the first book, it had incredible highs and incredible lows. I felt no connection to any character and after the series was spoiled for me I decided to call it quits.
I'm not gonna finish The Mortal Instruments series. It's just not working for me I think it's a bit boring, I knew that guy was Clary's father from the first pages , and the thing with her bro/boyfriend, eh, as a fan of GoT I'm anything but impressed or shocked (and I heard that Lena Heady played Jocelyn in the movie, so it was obvious that there is gonna be some incest, the Lannisters are everywhere). I'm not sure if I should read Infernal Devices, I like those kind of stuff but I don't what to say..
Becca hugytdyt I just finished the whole MI series and read the ID a while ago: I would definetly suggest to read both. The fact that valentine is clary's father is just the beginning... there will be a LOT of plot twist and suspence, and I really suggest you to at least give it a chance! I understand your point cause i get veeery easily bored with books. But these books are the exact opposite of boring so... please give it another try! and I think the best thing to do is to read the first MI trilogy, then the ID trilogy, then the second MI trilogy. My english is not gret cause i m italian btw! :)
+Khushbu Aumeer for me they complement each other and are one awesome story THE SHADOWHUNTER CHRONICLES which is not over yet really exited for TDA TLH and TWP
Me too. For me, its not the plot thats the problem its more the characters. I KNOW almost everyone looves the characters in TMI but in City of Bones, I just didn't meet any character that I could connect with. Clary was annoying, Jace was just.. idk. Please don't hate me, TMI fandom but I just felt like city of bones was not for me (and I reeally love fantasy). Do you think it is really worth it to continue on with the series if I did not have an emotional connection to any character at all?
Rose J. It happen just the same too me. I get so frusted with this serie, and its because i dont like when the serie have so many books on it, cause i think we lose the emotion that we feel on the first one.
You won't finish the Mara Dyer trilogy? That sucks for you lol. And 1 1/2 years isn't a long time in the book world, take A Song of Ice and Fire for example lol
I totally agree with you. I read the first book and decided that it's not my taste. I hate the way Bella rambles on about people's expressions and her "undying love" for Edward. I need my dose of scenery description and a break from a an angsty, awkward teenage girl.
I read the entire Unearthly series and I actually thought that the last one was fantastic. Cynthia Hand's portrayal of what hell is like was incredible and honestly one of the best ones I've come across.
The three series that stick out to me on my bookshelf are 'The Tide Lords' series, 'The Rangers Apprentice' series, and the 'Vampire Hunter D' light novels. With 'Tide Lords', I received the first couple as a birthday present and I loved them and immediately bought the third, it just took so long for me to get the last book in the series that I had lost interest in it. With 'Rangers Apprentice', there are 12 books in the series, I get to about the eighth book and I'm kind of done with that genre for a while. With 'Vampire Hunter D', I just find that translated novels often have a dry edge to them that I sometimes find difficult to read. As for the 'Fallen' series, I agree that 'Torment' is agony to read.
I couldn't take the fallen series at all. I finished the first and it was not interesting to compel me to read the next 7,000 books in the series lol And as for requiem, I couldn't NOT read it, like was the case with Mockingjay, but I was slightly disappointed with the former while I literally skimmed through the latter. There's SO many series I haven't finished and the one that stands out HAS TO BE PRETTY FUCKING LITTLE FUCKING LIARS. SARA SHEPARD NEVER SEEMS TO WANT TO END THE FREAKING SERIES THERE'S LIKE A ZILLION BOOKS IN THERE MAN AND A HAS CHANGED SO MANY TIMES I'VE HONESTLY LOST COUNT, others being mortal instruments, Vampire academy, Vampire diaries, and-wait for it- HARRY POTTER.
HOW CAN YOU NOT FINISH THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS AND VA? The Vampire Academy was meh, so slow paced and Elena is very annoying and Stefan is so bland but wat is life without TMI
+Snigdha Kucharlapati Welcome to the fandom gurl! Lovely fandom with amazing fan art and oh-so-amazing fan fiction :) Ps, just for clarification , the Herondale boys are mine
Silver Shadows was my favorite out of the Bloodlines books, and The Ruby Circle was really good too. If you think you might finish them you should definitely try.
the Private Series by Kate Brian. I read them in middle school and then once i got into high school i wasnt reading as much so thats that. And the story just doesnt interest me anymore, i dont have the motivation to pick them up and start all over again or continue where i left off. But very fond memories of the series.
You don't really need to read the first three in order to read the last three, like, you should, but they're basically two different trilogies. I totally get it though, the Shadowhunter Chronicles can be very overwhelming at times.
wow the Fallen book is such a horrible terrible book! and they make it into a movie :$ and I know i'm not the only one thunking like than...the cover of the books are beautiful though
+Khalel Butler Personally I love the Fallen series too.. At least from what I remember and the ending was pretty good! I felt like this was waaaay better than Hush Hush because of how the Romance part was written into both books But don't worry. UR not alone!!! I love the them toooooo
Exactly. If I'm wary about a book or have heard nothing good about it (or just plain nothing at all ), I'll usually buy the ebook, or get it from the library, Then if it's a favourite, Ill purchase a copy of my own.
Castiel Winchester I didn't hate it, but it was honestly just ok for me. The next two are definitely better, but if you hated the first one, don't bother with the others.
Castiel Winchester to be honest, Cinder was ok i gave it a second chance with Scarlet, which mas meh and Cress was plain bad. needless to say i will not be reading Winter.
No, I just read the retribution and I thought it was amazing. Admittedly, it's alot slower than the first two but I found it equally suspenseful and exciting and it definitely picks up near the end.
Omg I'm so in love with Lux 😭😭😭 it's so sad that you will not finish it. This book gives me sooooooo much emotions I never got before and I'm scared to miss any part of this series
The same thing happened to me with Mara Dyer! It took SO LONG to come out! I didn't even make it past the first book of the fallen series, so it good to know I wasn't missing much.
Thank You About the Fallen series, I'm glad it's not just me!!! Because the first book was ok... but Torment was just like a continuous pattern of her daily life!!!
I completely agree about the Fallen and the Halo series. I have the last book in the Halo series and I'm maybe gonna read it one day. I forced myself to read the last book in the Fallen series but have pretty much blocked out what it was about.
I believe that they are done with filming The Fallen movie and it will be released sometime later this year :) So far, I think I will be finishing every book series that I have started :)
I agree with you on Requiem. I couldn't read the last 100 pages. I felt like it dragged. But I loved the first two books. I also did spoil the end to myself as well :3
ooohh could you do a finished series at the end of the year? so like all the series you've read in the year or maybe you could do a top must read series! ahhh i'd love if you did any (or both) of that! :))))
I totally recommend "Once" by Morris Gleitzman - it's a short read at 150 pages but it's such a sweet historical fiction book, I got really connected to the characters!! There's 4 more books are that follow this book which I'm yet to read these are: "Then" "Now" "After" "Soon" - these are amazing though!!!!!
the ps. i still love you by jenny han because when you read it at the back its already spoiled for me. When I tried to read it, its just you know whats going to happen in the end and whats the point of reading it if you already know what will happen. But I respect jenny han she's a great author.
LOL. Cheerfully honest and crushing. I couldn't stop watching! I hope I'm never on the receiving side of "Series I Ain't Gonna Finish"! My sympathies to the authors but books are money and time for both writers and readers and you should always be happy with how you are spending your time and money.
I had bought a book in London last October (more than this by Patrick Ness) and just recently I did an atempt to read it and I looooved the book. I loved the style of the writing, it was exactly how I imagined my own books if I'd be more of an experienced writer. The sad, sad part was: it was too scary for me. And it wasn't even a scary book, but it had so much to do with death and contained so much isolation that it freaked me out and I stopped reading at page 230(/450). Still, I am proud that I stopped because I'm pretty sensitive and this was just about death and isolation and afterlife so yeah it's okay to not finish a book or book series :)
REMINDER:
Never "feel bad" or "unaccomplished" that you didn't finish a series! It happens to everybody and even if it's a super popular series that doesn't mean that everyone has read the full thing. Plus SO MANY BOOKS SO LITTLE TIME! ❤️
abookutopia ]I always feel so guilty when i dont finish a series, even though i know i shouldnt
abookutopia I won't finish the Immortals series by Alyson Noel !
I'm trying to finish it but it's hard (plus, one of my books is falling apart, I don't get it !)
Like you, I really loved Vampire Academy although I just read the first one, but I don't know if I'll read the next ones.. I spoiled myself the end...
Well, I have a lot of books that I won't read (not as many as you have though), and I don't have any places to put them (my mangas are everywhere!) I just hope I'll be able to finish the Heroes of Olympus series. I want to know what happens to Percyyyy ! (although I've been spoiled, it doesn't matter)
I really loooooooooooooove your channel, keep the good work :D
abookutopia There are plenty of books you won't be finishing that I also won't. Other than that I won't be finishing Halo because I wasn't all that invested in that series.I really like watching your videos.
abookutopia The last book of Fallen Series is good tho.
My friend had given me another book by Cynthia Hand that is WORTH THE READ. It's called The Last Time We Say Goodbye. I actually finished this book today and it touched my booky soul in ways I didn't know books could, you definitely check it out :)
I'm the kinda person that has to finish a series unless it's absolutely awful. I need the full series on my shelf. Book OCD.
Understandable
***** yeah and youve gone through so much with the characters you have to know how it ends! im with you girl!
I would say that for most series except House of Night...
***** same
daniellereads 94 no, even if i dont care about the characters, even i dont care how it ends, I ALMOST ALWAYS STILL HAVE TO FINISH THE SERIES
You're bookshelf is literally heaven.
You read books... and you don't know what the word "literally" means?
@@NoNameJustWords so what does it mean? Can you explain it to me?
WHY??
Same
I can't finish Mockingjay... or Allegiant.... My friends spoilt everything for me....
i actually read both... and trust me did good not to read both.. mockingjay atleast kept u to continue reading... but allegiant was sooo slow.. and nothing major happend.. and it just ended flat.. dint enjoy it..
+deartsygirl flem I preferred the allegiant movie compared to the book
+deartsygirl flem yepp.. the biggest turnoff was the double perspective.. after two books i cant even get myself to belive that four even had an pov.. i was confused most of the time whose perspective is that.. and when iam reading thinking it was tris and suddenly am like wait the gender does not match the line..
+artgal65 xx oh no.. the movie was worse.. but diff ppl diff opinions..
I think I won't finish the Divergent trilogy/series.
Sorry not sorry, wasn't so amazed by it :/
Tormenta Literaria ME either! I just didn't feel like reading it. I don't even think I finished the first book :l
Yeah, the first book was amazing but the last two were a blur to me. I wasnt a fan.
Tormenta Literaria same. divergent was great but i got bored when i read insurgent so i just stop.
Good you are saving yourself from Allegiant.
areadersworld Was it bad?
lol noooo I loved to last book of Mara Dyer, it's one of my favorite trilogy!
Maybe I'll have to give it a shot!
abookutopia It's worth it!! The plot twist at the very very end is mind blowing.
Yeah! ! It so goood! :)
It was the best for me also.
I liked it too :)
The book series I shall not finish is Divergent. I LOVED the first book, second book was ok and I didn't even finish the third. I feel like it should have ended with the first book or maybe even the second but it just wasn't that good to me.
RHavetine the last book was terrible I regret reading it 😂😂
@@GhoulBunny the fourth was worse
I will NOT be finishing the Divergent series! Lol I'll wait for the movies.
The divergent movie was ok but insurgent the movie did not live up to the book honestly I don't think any movie of a book could ever live up to the depth of a book
Oh you're not ,? Tris died
+DWriteLambily the first movie was pretty good but insurgent was disappointing and allegiant just looks terrible
Emma Ellingwood I agree completely. I also feel like the books went downhill, while divergent already wasn't great. I much prefer the hunger games series.
read the books,they are better
I'm not going to finish the Matched series
+HUNGERGAMES FANGIRL I remember reading that and being underwhelmed. I kinda want to read it again though for some reason. I guess dystopias make me really happy so even if they're not great, I love them.
same
+HUNGERGAMES FANGIRL I loved the first book, but I began Crossed and wasn't a fan.
ikr
I personally really didn't like it but I do have to say that the third book is better than the second and if you get bored you might as well continue it
I'm surprised the "Matched" trilogy isn't in this video...
But great video, Sasha!
I totally forgot that one!!
I never finished the first book 😂
I got through the first one (That one at least had some intriguing themes to help it). I only got through a fraction of the second one, though... nothing happened!
Oh damn it I just bought matched 😂😭 I hope it isn't that bad!
Seriously.
Oh c'mon am I the only one who loves the GONE Series? It's so good!
I love it too hahaha
I love it!
Leaked Trailers Inc. i love it too lmao. its probably my favourite ya series
Gone was AMAZING but I literally couldn't finish Hunger and my friend who was reading the series before me said she was disappointed by either Villian or Monster (I can't remember precisely) so I never tried to get back into it. It's a shame as the author was really good and I liked his style
I'm never going to finish Percy Jackson series :/
Oh my god
Megandthebooks why not? not judging jst curious
How far did you get??? The last book is one of the best!!!
Adele Poling Really? I thought it was so bad
If by Percy Jackson you mean Heroes of Olympus, then good call. I ADORED House of Hades, but Blood of Olympus was a HUGE disappointment 😓. However, if you're referring to the Last Olympian, please read it! It's arguably the best one in the original series!
The delirium trilogy is my favourite!!! I love it a lot! I know it's too much to say but it kinda changed my life!!!
I personally LOVE all the Delirium books, they're a-mazing.
Tbh the 3rd book of the Mara dyer trilogy was GREAT. So if you change your mind, you'll be doing the right thing:)
I can't finish the Maze Runner series..I can't even get past like page 30 of Maze Runner. i have no idea why, what i read was ok but my mind just could not get into it haha anyone else feel that way about it?
i really dislike the series -.-
Carolina Herrera really? i like the series quite a bit
Me too
Omg the slang words killed me. Clink, shank...bla bla bla
I feel you
emilyspeaks I kept thinking about the same trilogy while watching this video! I loved Shiver, even though romance is not exactly my cup of tea. I've attempted so many times to finish the trilogy and I just CAN"T.
sheka369 - I liked Shiver too, but was disappointed by the last book in the series. So no worries, keep your good memories of Shiver.
same..sadly same story about 2 years ago
emilyspeaks same here! I didn't like the first book :(
The Unearthly series was one of my favorites! but then the Mortal Instruments came along.... LOVE
I'm not sure if you mixed this up on accident or not. The Unearthly trilogy by Cynthia Hand in order is: Unearthly, Hallowed then Boundless. My sister read them and loved them.
I don't think I'll finish the Lux series because I lost interest midway. I wish to finish it, but I can't.
Me to, I finished the first three but I wont finish the series. They really should release the next books sooner so we wont lose interest.
Hessa T. I finished the first 2 and started the 3rd one....The struggle got real so I just dnf-ed it....
The last book in Lux was rough, didn't like it. Really bummed me out, won't be finishing it either.
Its so weird seeing people not like the lux series because it's my favourite 😂
The same thing happened to me! I bought all of them but completely gave up after the second book.
Never been as disappointed as I was when you showed bloodlines. My admiration of you lost 1% when you did that
LOL I STILL LOVE YOU THOUGH ITS JUST THAT ITS MY FAVE SERIES AND UGGHH
I read the whole Fallen series a few years ago and it still is my all time favourite series..I get that you might not like it since the language she uses is kind of difficult and there's an excess amound of landscape description happening but I'd suggest you gave it a second chance because to be fair "torment" wasn't the best book of the series.. "Passion" was great and there's a lot of time traveling which is so accurate you actually feel like you're there and the last book of the series "ecstasy" is so intense I read it all in 1 day (after waiting for 2 years for its release) plus the Valentine's day special was incredible!!!
Totally agree! 👏👏👏👏
Yes I agree 100% too! For some reason nobody likes the Fallen series but I loved it! And since it's becoming a movie I'm super excited!!!
jennytsak Agree! I love Fallen series so much
I totally agree with everything you said about the Fallen series!
i really get that feeling of not finishing a series because its been so long in waiting for the next book to come out that you lose interest, thats why i try reading series that are already finished first or that are mostly finished (if they are long series) i HATE having to wait. The Bloodlines series is amazing btw i loved it! but i get that you are just not into the genre/subject at the moment as well, if you ever do get interested in reading about it again id definitely recommend it.
i didn't like the third book of mara dyer, but some people really did !
i'll probably never pick up delirium lol i really hated panic, so i can't imagined liking her other books
i seriously need to pick up VA! but bloodlines sounds really cool too
this was a great video!
Oww I loved Panic actually, way more than Delirium!
Before I Fall is her best book!! Delirium is iffy.....
I didnt like the last mara dyer book and also the last delirium book was ..ugh
With the third Mara Dyer book for me it was really weird, because I really loved the first half and then a bit over the middle it just kept going downwards.
I would seriously recommend VA and Bloodlines! I'm scared to read the last Mara Dyer book because of all the bad reviews but I think I'm going to try it anyway...
"Tainted by a sucky book" *cough* *cough* Allegiant
I LITERALLY JUST FINISHED PAPER TOWNS NOT EVEN 30 SECONDS AGO IM HAVING LIKE A HEART ATTACK AND SAYING WHY JOHN GREEN, WHY COULDN'T YOU MAKE IT A BIT LONGER!! 😭😭
I tried reading the Maze Runner series. Stopped after the Scorch Trials. The first one was good, but it's all just downward from there
YOU MUST PREVAIL! Ik, tsc isn't that great, but the death cure is really good! But I wouldn't recommend the kill order, only if you want to find out Teresa's backstory :)
I'm reading the Death Cure right now and it's okay
lolani marie the kill order was so fucking dreadful, i love teresa ur that book was so fucking boring it took me like four months to finish
I feel you on such a spiritual level with quite a few of them. Seriously well done.
Same!! Haha
yaas me too
CastleFlameGal this is hapening with matched... i am still reading 2 years later
Missis Tomlinson that suckssss... wait you've read other books in those 2 years, right?
of course ... I'm just in the middle and I read like 2 pages a month beause I feel sad .. the struggle is real
I will not be finishing the Beautiful Creatures Series.
I bought that book years ago and when I finally read the darn thing it took me 6 months to finish it because it was SO BORING.
I also was not a fan of Delirium I read the first book and I honestly don't remember anything about that book.
I finished that series, I just didn't like it very much tbh...
You are braver than I am because there's no way I would even pick up the second book lol
Sameee, I couldn't even finish Beautiful Creatures ://
Daniella Rojas I finished it, I'll just never be rereading them like I often do with the rest of my books.
HollyHeartagram Haha, I got a recommendation off a friend and so I bought half of the series thinking that they would be good, like Morganville that she also recommended and I loved, but I was very disappointed to say the least!
I loved Fallen, specially the last book hahaha And no we haven't heard anything about the movie 💔🔫
I did too! I love Lauren Kate's books. All of them.
ESPECIALLY, you dumb-ass.
Geesh, could be an unseen typo.
BlazingNightcore I'm a dumbass for having one unseen mistake😂 👌🏻 Lord forgive me.
There is gonna be a movie i think!! the trailer is out now!! :d
I once reread a 30 book serie. just because I missed the charachters. I dont regret it.
Something Something Maybe Warriors by Erin Hunter?
I honestly recommend that you do finish The Mara Dyer trilogy!! I loved the last book.. it was honestly a good book and I think you should give it a try I mean who knows maybe you will like it :-)
Waiting 2 years for a book? Girl, here in Venezuela will come in like 4 years and if they come, they will disappear. I didn't finish reading Delirium, i started because people were saying it was good and i read the first book but is not in my plans reading the second.
I just have a problem where i stop books when i get even the slightest bit disinterested or have another book i really want to read
Yeah I read the first 3 books in the blue bloods series and I just couldn't go on
Aliseya7 im sad now
Awww.. I'm sad to hear that you aren't finishing the Hush Hush series :( I swear the last book is amazing! It gets really intense and there is a huge plot twist! It isn't just the "main character girl" and a "mysterious boy"! I swear it gets better! Give it another chance if you can ;)
Jenny Park Really?? Guess I should have gotten further into the series before judging..lol I suppose I'll give it another try! Thanks :)
Booktubers are my motivation for reading and getting out of my reading slump because of all the good recommendations
just finished the last bloodlines book and I am just so in love with it, which is kinda weird since I'm not really into the whole vampire thing.
Distracted by the beauty of Heir of Fire in the background😍 would anyone recommend reading the first two Mara Dyer books? X
You should definitely read it! These books are fantastic. Full of "oh shit" and "wtf" moments, in a good way. Creepy, romantic, funny. Amazing.
Yes! Mara dyer is my second favourite trilogy!
Beth Campbell I definitely would! I've only read the first two but I plan to read the third very soon!
and I read the first two in one day each!
I WAS SCARED YOU'LL SAY THE SELECTION SERIES OH MY GOD THE SELECTION SERIES EVERYBODY YALL READ IT YOULL BE BLESSED OH MY GOD
but selection is goooood
+le sigh I got the first book from Barnes & Nobles and I hated it I couldn't get into it... I had to force myself to read the full book
I've only read the first 3 and found them to be quick but enjoyable reads
abook worm I only read the first novel, and then got to the second one and got to that whole part where she talks about the things she saw in the library, and it just really ticked me off, and I did not like the book, her, or the series. Not that it sucked, I just really hate how America is so whiny and sometimes (really) stupid.
What's the selection series?
For me it's the Uglies series and the Mortal Instrument series. I read up to city of glass and was just kind of done with it.
I can't finish The Mortal Instruments series and the Harry Potter series
JoshLemus they are my two favourites :(
I'm sorry!! Lol. I just, I wasn't interested in the Mortal Instruments, they were kind of boring. As for Harry potter, I read the first three, I absolutely loved them!! I just didn't have the time to continue reading and all. I had read the first three in summer and then school started...
JoshLemus The mortal instrumets is my favorite!! :(
honestly I did the same thing with the Harry Potter series but I'm giving them a second chance, do the same with TMI, read the Infernal Devices first if you have to but don't give up on them lol they are so good!
JoshLemus hooow lol hp i could care les but mortal instruments
~Abby
I read the first book, hated it!!! I craved a spin off of Percy Jackson but instantly regretted it once I read The lost hero
Exactly the same situation with me it was Mark of Athena that caused me to stop with H.O.O
JoshLemus the first book is really hard and so is the second book kinda but I found the rest amazing, I suggest trying to maybe read them again
books kay I'll take your word for it and reread the first book. I have the first three btw. So I'm good to go. Lol.
Aha good luck and just stick through it, they get amazing (:
My jaw dropped at the Fallen series comment. I LOVE all of Lauren Kate's books. Try her Teardrop series, maybe?
Totally agree with the fallen series!
My friend made me read them because she loved them but i struggled through them all and eventually gave up on the last book. It just went on forever..
I will never finish the legend series or the daughter of smoke and bone series
Same
Why? They are both great
I read the first two of the daughter of smoke and bone, and I really didn't enjoy them. I read legend and it was okay but I have no urge to continue. We just have different tastes I guess :)
😥😥😥😰😓
I agree with this.
when she mentioned the halo series I thought of the game and was confused for a second
I definitely recommend you read it even if you don't read some of its predecessors, it doesn't make a huge difference bc they always explain what previously happened
i only read the first three book
I love your taste with These Broken Stars on your shelf there!
For me it has been a torment reading Fallen! I didn't finish that book and my best friend is still mad at me because this is her favorite book.
Daniela Golfrè Andreasi You are not alone. I really tried, but it was literally a torment. I even tried to skip some pages, but it didn't help.
Daniela Golfrè Andreasi Same. I read the first book years ago and soon after tried reading the second book. The main character was really bland if I remember correctly. There was some insta-love involved as well I think. I also really hate love triangles and that was a large portion of the first book.
I did read the first book (I skipped a lot) but I couldn't get myself to read the second book. I didn't really like it
Kasey Chen I don't blame you.
Thank god, you didnt finish the Delirium series, I absolutely dreaded the ending. Then felt like I wasted my time even starting the series...*sigh*. So many people gave good rating on that book hence why I picked it up, but youre one of the few who feels the same way about that series !
I love the fallen series😳💞 iTS the best serie ever 😂
I feel the same way towards fallen. And as for the movie, the trailer is coming out in June/ July during comic con and it'll be released in theaters this fall.
OMG I HAD A FEALING UNEARTHLY WAS COMING!
idk I probably won't finish the selection...would you recommend finishing it? I'm about halfway through The Elite
DEFINITELY FINISH IT! such a plot twist in The One!
Read it! The One is better than the Elite, but it's honestly worth it!
Plus, you get to finish a series FAST! ;)
Finish it! Finish it! It is one of my absolute favorite series and theres a fourth book coming out called "the heir" im so excited
unearthly was read in the wrong order it is umearthly hallowed and then boundless im sorry but you need to read hallowed it has very important things happen
hello i sing YES I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT
Where in London and when are you having a meetup?
Ben and I aren't sure yet! But once we do, we'll let you know!
abookutopia Oh OK! I cant wait!
FINISH HUSH HUSH
Madison Herondale I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not going to. I read past halfway and there's nothing happening at all, nothing's happening and I couldn't stand it.
FINISH TMI ITS SO WORTH IT ESPECIALLY ITS HARD TO PUSH THROUGH COG BUT ITS SO WORTH IT PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE
Eyeliner Baek eww no Baek is totally an idiot xP
Oh Thehoon I'm the opposite with you on Cassandra Cass's books. I loved the TMI series but could not get through the Infernal Devices. I read the first one and got 10 chapters into Clockwork prince before I gave up.
Hallowed is the second book of the Unearthly trilogy not the third.
people will hate me but I am never going to finish Vampire Academy. Rose Hathaway is the most annoying female lead I have ever had the misfortune to read.
I loved those books!! But I can see what you mean...
Bella Swan is worse.
+Mockingjay Forever haha true
Cassia from Matched amd Bella Swan are the worst.
Fallen the movie is called The Fallen and will be coming out this year and people have been saying it will be on July 30th.
I finished the mortal instruments but i absolutely loved the infernal devices
Series I won't finish? Hmmm,Let me think....
TWILIGHT
Watson more like series I'll never start
I kinda liked it😂. Even though i only have read the first book.
You guys should really read all of them, not a hard series to read 😘
So true 😂😂
As for the 'Fallen' series, I agree that 'Torment' is agony to read.
omg if you don't like those series I'll have them 😂😂
I couldn't take the fallen series at all. I finished the first and it was not interesting to compel me to read the next 7,000 books in the series lol
And as for requiem, I couldn't NOT read it, like was the case with Mockingjay, but I was slightly disappointed with the former while I literally skimmed through the latter.
GUESS WHAT I AM COMPLETING MORTAL INSTRUMENTS NOW YAYYYY :D
I am going to finish HP sometime in my life too, I take an oath by the name of the angels
+Snigdha Kucharlapati Welcome to the fandom gurl! Lovely fandom with amazing fan art and oh-so-amazing fan fiction :)
Ps, just for clarification , the Herondale boys are mine
I personally loved vampire academy and I love the vampire diaries tv series
Noah Shaw
Silver Shadows was my favorite out of the Bloodlines books, and The Ruby Circle was really good too. If you think you might finish them you should definitely try.
the Private Series by Kate Brian. I read them in middle school and then once i got into high school i wasnt reading as much so thats that. And the story just doesnt interest me anymore, i dont have the motivation to pick them up and start all over again or continue where i left off. But very fond memories of the series.
Well i couldn't even finish the first book of the selection series cause it sucks so bad. ugh.
The only reason I kept reading was Maxon. He's BÆ
I couldn't finish the third. I really liked it up until them.
lol I read the whole series ,waiting the 5th
Really ? I loved those books !
Christax I really hope that there's a book is about Maxon and America's wedding life and of course the most important is their honeymoon scene!!!!!
what does TBR stand for?
To be read
thanks!
Sadly I won't ever finish Shadowhunters even though I loved the first three books...but too much time has passed :'D
You should really finishing them they are so good! Specially the infernal devices
You don't really need to read the first three in order to read the last three, like, you should, but they're basically two different trilogies. I totally get it though, the Shadowhunter Chronicles can be very overwhelming at times.
Same with me, everytime i tried to keep reading there was always something holding me back :(
You mean The Mortal Instruments?
maybe you sld try reading the prequel? 😂 its quite different
Who else is watching this in 2016 and feeling very nostalgic?
I am
I love the Fallen series 💜
wow the Fallen book is such a horrible terrible book! and they make it into a movie :$ and I know i'm not the only one thunking like than...the cover of the books are beautiful though
so true!!!
I feel like the only one who loves Fallen. However I am not excited for the movie. I feel like it's going to be another Beautiful Creatures situation
My sister is ABSEST with the fallen books I haven't read them yet I might wait a while though cause I'm having a fallen angel stage
+Khalel Butler Personally I love the Fallen series too.. At least from what I remember and the ending was pretty good! I felt like this was waaaay better than Hush Hush because of how the Romance part was written into both books
But don't worry. UR not alone!!! I love the them toooooo
I liked Fallen, but the hype had died down when I picked up Torment plus I was having exams SOOOO...
wait are you buying books just not read them? well if you love throwing your money out of the window, tell me so i can catch it Lol
People don't know that they weren't going to like the book when they bought it.
Exactly. If I'm wary about a book or have heard nothing good about it (or just plain nothing at all ), I'll usually buy the ebook, or get it from the library, Then if it's a favourite, Ill purchase a copy of my own.
It's because they make the shelf beautiful
DUDE!!! And some of us are here busy rereading books cause we broke as hell and cant buy books
*Two Words: Lunar Chronicles.
I hated, HATED Cinder. Everyone blew it up to be this amazing book and it did not work for me.*
Castiel Winchester I didn't hate it, but it was honestly just ok for me. The next two are definitely better, but if you hated the first one, don't bother with the others.
Cress was really good. You could skip Scarlet but then you won't understand a few things there and there. It's a good series, IMO.
Castiel Winchester to be honest, Cinder was ok i gave it a second chance with Scarlet, which mas meh and Cress was plain bad. needless to say i will not be reading Winter.
***** Scarlet reminds me of bella swan, all like omg he is so mean but i love him!... ugh
jake artres whaaatt!? cress is insufferable! i hated the character and i just couldnt picture thorne as a man, i really tried
I believe that they are done with filming The Fallen movie and it will be released sometime later this year :)
So far, I think I will be finishing every book series that I have started :)
I agree with you on Requiem. I couldn't read the last 100 pages. I felt like it dragged. But I loved the first two books. I also did spoil the end to myself as well :3
ooohh could you do a finished series at the end of the year? so like all the series you've read in the year
or maybe you could do a top must read series! ahhh i'd love if you did any (or both) of that! :))))
I totally recommend "Once" by Morris Gleitzman - it's a short read at 150 pages but it's such a sweet historical fiction book, I got really connected to the characters!! There's 4 more books are that follow this book which I'm yet to read these are: "Then" "Now" "After" "Soon" - these are amazing though!!!!!
the ps. i still love you
by jenny han
because when you read it at the back its already spoiled for me.
I've also not finished the hunger games or divergent, just because it doesn't appeal to me as much as fantasy and other books do
Noooo ;-; the book is freakin amazing
what is the title
Ms.RazzleDazzle Pants more than this
