My husband and I were born and raised in CO. Our families have been here for generations. We grew up playing in 'them there hills' and now raise our kids in them too. I hate to say this, but sometimes we take it for granted. After watching your video and listening to the awe and wonder in the dialogue, I am definitely embracing those moments of gratitude on trail again. Remembering to have an attitude of gratitude vs. grumpiness about crowded trails and the wee-morning wake up calls just to get a parking spot at the trailhead. Happy trails.
I watch you both. I’ve seen you and others connect with other You Tubers. It’s nice to see people who don’t know each other connect through this forum and get together over a shared interest.
Did anyone else get up and dance with the dope song at the beginning of the video?!💖Great video Jeremiah!! Love those amazingly beautiful mountain views🌲🌲🌲Colorado is pure awesomeness!!!
Great video, Colorado Springs resident here. Only someone that has experienced high altitude hiking know the feeling of that altitude exhaustion and sickness. It is worth it but you never forget that feeling (for a day or two anyway).
Hi JS. I just stumbled upon this video. You brought me back to my favorite place. You my remember I now live here in KY, but I was once a resident of Vail, CO. I have been to the peak of Holy Cross twice where I signed my name in the log. Thanks for reminding me of Colorado's beauty.
Hi Jeremiah at least you had a great experience I wouldn’t consider it a fail. You got to see the mountains of Colorado,(Those views) epic, most people only dream of an excursion like that. I’m glad that you got out there, that the main thing, you looked as though you were having the the time of your life. I love ❤️ your videos.
LOL, I would not call this a fail; more like accepting reality and finding the enjoyment in your remaining options. Still looked like an awesome trip. Thanks for uploading!
Hello Jeremiah, it's great to see you again. You were hiking with a great group of guys. Thank you for sharing this really fine video. You really captured the beauty of the Colorado back country. All the best to you and your family. Stay healthy. 🤗
Epic trip my friend!!! Some of the best scenery I’ve ever seen. Great group of guys to do this trip with too. I hope we all have many more adventures together
What a great group to have with you!! Great video ... sorry you couldn't make it all the way, but you definitely can't call that a "fail"! Beautiful country, beautiful people ... it doesn't get much better. Thanks for sharing!😎😎
Great video Jeremiah! You guys definitely made the best decision not going over the pass. It looks like there are great views on all sides of those mountains. A great hike with a great group of guys! Thanks for sharing this!
Awesome trip and a great crew to do it with. I think Tim said it best too, in regards to Fancy Pass, you-all did all the work and just did not get the reward of the views at the top. Better safe than sorry. As exciting as it would have been to see Backpacking with Jason sliding down the snow and becoming Sledding with Jason, I like his videos too much to risk that, lol. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Man this video was top notch! Beautiful shots, great voice over, music, and scene changes...really made me feel like I was there. Great group and great video brother! Awesome too see you all out.
There's a bunch on Facebook for different geographical locations :D In KY they meet up to do the Sheltowee every month and have a section hiking challenge together
Seabass. Thats what we called newbs on post cause its whats you look like trying to run the first week. Love thr whooe crews videos. You guys are as pleasant as they come 👍
Great video! We're looking into doing this loop, or a variant of it, and were wondering if you recall seeing any campsites away from the lakes, we're not fond of mosquitoes and tend to try and lessen our exposure by camping away from water when possible. Love the lakes, just not the flying vampires! FYI, sending the same question to the rest of the group too...you guys should come back and give it another go.
Really well done trip video! Nice tease at the beginning. Good voice over. Compelling story. I look forward to returning to the Colorado Trail in September. I was questioning the trip after a rough trip this past weekend, but now I am ready to go again! Thank you! BTW When are you and Jason coming to Superior Hiking Trail? Maybe this winter?? :-)
I’ve published all we’ve hiked so far. Was hiking in June. Then in July it was in the 90s every day so we took a ride trip to Florida, then hiked in Colorado, then camping in Michigan then hanging with family lol
@@JeremiahStringer I once flew into Denver hopped in my buddy's car and we drove straight to the top of a 14er LOL. We only had to climb the last 200 feet and I almost didn't make it haha.
The county bordering where we hiked had a fire ban. We weren’t allowed to have a fire above tree line. It rained every day we were there, but was still fairly dry in some places
You were in my state and didn't even let me know?!? I would've brought you up a hot fresh burger of your choice. Just let me know next time you're back.

Enjoy every day of that :D
Epic trip!!! Glad we could do it
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t wait to get back out together

Quote of the week: "there's only one way to go, up or back" 😂😂😂
Lol I’m an idiot sometimes 🤦♂️ My told me I don’t make sense
@@JeremiahStringer, haha great quote, just pretend you said it as a joke.

Lol had a ton of fun. The purest of awesomeness :D
Thank you for allowing us all to be with you.
My pleasure :D
Love the Rockies! Everywhere you look is beautiful!!! Great hiking, high altitude!! 😜
So much fun but that altitude is a killer 😂
Great video, Colorado Springs resident here. Only someone that has experienced high altitude hiking know the feeling of that altitude exhaustion and sickness. It is worth it but you never forget that feeling (for a day or two anyway).
You know the pain lol

That area is absolutely awesome!
If anyone watches one of your videos and isn’t a little bit happier afterwards, then they’re dead. Keep spreading the joy Jeremiah!
Aww thank you so much, Tweety! :D
Awesome hike to tough for me. You young guys are welcome to climb those mountains. To much elevation gain wow.

I think you boys made good decisions. Mighty fine scenery with mighty fine companions.
Love it :D

I wouldn't change a thing about it, except maybe being in better shape XD
That was beautiful scenery. No need to be disappointed.
You speak the truth 🙌

Looks like you had an epic trip buddy. Those views are amazing!
Loved it so much :D
Here in the Rockies, we get a shower most afternoons in the summer. 🙂
I guess they make their own weather in those mountains
Thank you for sharing your adventure! And you were smart about what was safe to do, probably the best lesson you could teach any of us.
My pleasure :D Thank you for watching!
Nice. What a cool trip! Thanks for sharing. We are subscribed and will be following along.

Great video man! Glad you got to experience the Rockies!!
They are amazing 😍
Great video as usual. Surprised you haven't been out West before. We love it out here.
Beautiful out there! I'll definitely be back :D
You need to make another trip out here. You only got a small sample of all of the great wilderness Colorado has to offer.
I can’t wait to get back out there. Maybe next year 😍
I need to find a group to hike with 😩 this was so beautiful !
There's a bunch on Facebook for different geographical locations :D In KY they meet up to do the Sheltowee every month and have a section hiking challenge together
@@JeremiahStringer thank you for the quick reply! We’re brand spanking new to backpacking and have been watching you all day today! Great channel!

What a great trip! I’ve get to get back out West next year
So jealous. Makes me wanna move out there
Awesome video and sights. Im headed to Estes Park over labor day to summit Longs Peak at 14,200 ft
That will be incredible. I bet you’ll have amazing views
Seabass. Thats what we called newbs on post cause its whats you look like trying to run the first week. Love thr whooe crews videos. You guys are as pleasant as they come 👍
Love those guys 😃 Appreciate you watching and giving me a laugh
I love those bold marmots!! A volunteer at RMNP said they are actually the #1 animal attacker in the park (no joke). Great video! I love Colorado!
I believe it lol thank you!
Beautiful views brother. And dude, no way was that a backpacking fail. That was just a smart decision. Great vid. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure! Had a ton of fun XD
What a crew! Awesome video. I'm in WV and have never backpacked west of Ohio. Maybe one day
It was my first time out there. You’ll love it when you go
OMG bro....that beard is taking on a life of its own. Good to see you back.
Lol can’t believe I’m still sporting this thing 😂 Thank you! 😊
Storms at high altitudes in exposed places are dangerous. One of the few conditions that can force me to turn back :)
Yes! Exactly right :)

Can’t skip out on Colorado 😁 Hopefully we can make it up there 😉 Never been up north during the winter before. Sounds like a new challenge
What happened to the rest of the Sheltowee?
I’ve published all we’ve hiked so far. Was hiking in June. Then in July it was in the 90s every day so we took a ride trip to Florida, then hiked in Colorado, then camping in Michigan then hanging with family lol
So jealous , But ill be at Dolly Sods before long with good views as well 👍🏻 Video was entertaining as always , keep it up
Thank you! Can’t wait until I make it to Dolly Sods. Have a blast 😃🙌
That elevation will get you! I live at 4,506' and this weekend we hit a pass at 12,880' and it hit me hard! But, you have to climb to see those views!
The bestest of views :D
How long was it between the time you landed in the time you started hiking? It takes awhile to get acclimatized!
Landed at 8 pm. Hiked the next morning
@@JeremiahStringer I once flew into Denver hopped in my buddy's car and we drove straight to the top of a 14er LOL. We only had to climb the last 200 feet and I almost didn't make it haha.
Backcountry Pilgrim lol that would be insane. No way I could do it
Killer video! Jason really needs to be more encouraging of you channel, though! 😂😂😂
Lol I’m going to fire him from my channel 😂
Jeremiah Stringer Hikes Just cut his pay. 🤑
No fire restrictions?
The county bordering where we hiked had a fire ban. We weren’t allowed to have a fire above tree line. It rained every day we were there, but was still fairly dry in some places
At those elevations, the long beard would be an asset lol
Lol keeping my neck warm
Plan extra days. Get acclimated by camping overnight halfway up. The. Continue.
Good advice there
Oh..yeah..I live at 6k elevation, but the highest I’ve been is over 14k. High altitude can do crazy things to you.
That is insane
Welcome to my neck of the woods. You should've stayed camped by Constantine. Plenty of cover, wood and O2. Warmth is everything.
I'm unfamiliar. I'll definitely check it out though!! :D
Good one bro! Colorado is a beautiful state. And why's Jason gotta be so mean to that marmot? He just wanted some of his awesome cooking!
Lol he’s always looking for a fight
I know you guys were a little disappointed, but that was one awesome, successful trip!
Everything in me believed we would go over that pass lol. Still a great time 🙌
That lack of O2 will get ya.
Heck yeah it will XD
That certainly ain't no Kentucky my friend...cool edit
Lol I think I fell in love out there 😂
Niceeeeee....hopefully you have many more trips out there..those views are killer
brett hikez i hope so too
You were in my state and didn't even let me know?!? I would've brought you up a hot fresh burger of your choice. Just let me know next time you're back.
Lol sorry about that!! I'll definitely hit you up next time :D
I’ve got a 12 day, 68 mile trip this summer. All between 7,200 and 10,200. If this put a hurt on you, this Georgia boy might mot make it...
Lol slow and steady wins the race :D
Hardly a fail. Making smart choices in the face of dangerous conditions and altering plans is wisdom.
Couldn't agree more :D
