@@vj_great551 Image quality for the price is really good, though not perfect. The famous EF 50 mm f/1.8 is still better, but much heavier and larger. The 22 mm EF-M will fit inside your jacket easily.
Only if you need a wider angle, or a more discreet lens. The 32mm lens has a nice f/1.4 aperture - it is much better for portraits and in low light situations.
thanks so much for the video! I am traveling to Rome in October and I struggle to see which lens to bring there since I need something discrete but that can bring a lot to the table, indeed the 22MM is the choice!
Thank you! Yes, difficulties generate growth (almost always). Difficulties should be embraced. A wide prime lens is like a detox form an all-around zoom lens.
@@apertureatlas I find when youre doing street photography, no single prime focul length can cover all kinds of random copmositions. Sigma 16-50 or 16-70 f2.8 is the best lens for street photography imo.
You are rapidly becoming my favorite photography RUclips channel! I'm going out on a limb and I'm going to buy this as its exactly what I need! Thank you! I love the positive energy in your videos! God bless! 😀🙏❤
I had the same question years ago when I first started photography. Yes, the ef-m 22mm is 22mm for a cropped sensor, but regarding the Full Frame equivalent, let me break it down for you: If you're using a Canon crop sensor camera with this 22mm lens and you look through the viewfinder, and right beside it you have a Full Frame camera with a 35mm lens attached, they will show you the same field of view. In other words, the Full Frame equivalent of a 22mm lens is actually 35mm. 22mm X 1.6x (crop factor) = 35mm. Hope it helps!
@@apertureatlas ah i see that also translate to ‘if’ the efm 22mm can attach to FF mount it will have this vignette cut out borders that will automatically makes it has the closer focal length, thats for the insights
There are several videos about this lens on this channel: "15 Things About The Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens" (main video) ; "Canon 22mm f2 vs Canon 24mm f2.8 vs Canon 40mm f2.8 - Distortion and Vignetting test no.1" and "Canon 22mm f2 vs Canon 24mm f2.8 - Sharpness Test no.2".
I was thinking about getting a fujifilm because I believe their sensors and lenses are the best for aps-c. But for the price, I can't find in fuji something of similar value to a new Canon m50 plus the 22mm f2.0 combo. Let me know if you know of an alternative please.
I have this same lens for my canon m200 and it’s the perfect lens to go for walks and makes everything more compact 100% agree with everything
Glad to hear that you are enjoyng your 22mm lens! Thank you for your thoughts!
How's the image quality and can I fit lens and camera in pocket

Great Videos!!
Thank you!
i snagged one for 65 bux off ebay that had a dent and no caps. what a score! great for my small shop.
That's a good price! If it still works, no problem, and yes, it's great for indoor shots!
@@apertureatlas it works without issue! It was a great score. Great suggestion!
Excellent review
Thank you very much, Emmanuel!

Wait if the efm is 22mm it is actually 22mm for cropped sensor no? Since it is made specifically for cropped sensor, not for FF sensor

Thanks for sharing. bro.
I see you brought out the 22mm again. I still use my 35mm with my EOS-M.
35mm + EOS-M is also a good match. I had a Sigma 30mm + Canon 7D some time ago. This was all that I used for 3 years (and it didn't bother me).
Can you film and make movies with this one ?

One reason why I don't need that lens: I love Fuji and never will buy a Canon!
I respect that decision. Fuji is also very nice!

What's a fuji fanboy doing in this channel? 😂. go somewhere else and dont bother us canon users.
