Thanks for your look at this bike and for Honda fa-fa-fa-finally bringing it to us here in the US and it really is about time as we are the OG Honda trail bike riders, that little bike is truly, watch out for the overused word, iconic. And kudos to Honda for modernizing with a bigger engine and better brakes and tech while maintaining its classic look and I agree, the Dax is the best looking of all the little bikes. And it was called the Dax when I had a 50cc street-legal version at age 15 in West Germany when I was an American teen military dependent and it was the go-to motorcycle for all the Army brats because it was readily available and affordable and street legal for us at 15 and that was freedom on two-wheels, so much fun as we'd ride them on city streets and country roads and trails in the woods on weekdays when Germans were not doing their hikes and group walks. And getting back to the new Dax, HondaPro Kevin here on YT did some vids on modified Daxes, so, yes, so much will be out there on the after-market. Who knows, maybe I'll get one and then a DG box swingarm and FMF pipe for that true '70s 125 Elsinore experience, the days. 😀

I’m in Arizona and absolutely LOVE my new Dax!! Looking forward to modding it out. It’s technically not as good a bike as my Monkey but it’s super fun to ride with the heal/toe shifter. It’s not as fast out of the box but definitely torquier being that it was designed to ride two up. Once it gets a sprocket, exhaust and filter it should liven up a bit after break in. Only real complaint is the seat SUCKS!!! It’s hard as a rock and hurts me after just 10 miles. That will be my first major part swap out.

Honda shoulda made it a 175-200cc. It reminds me of a Yamaha Vino 125 I had previously, that was just barely adequate around town. Top speed was 54mph--it needed another 10mph. I now own a Burgman 200, with top speed of 80mph &70+mpg. I can travel any highway in FL, even Interstates for a few miles. It's a cool mini-moto, but scooters have underseat storage...

I still have my first motorcycle my father pulled out of a dumpster when i was 11yrs old. 1970 CT/ Trail 70 with the fold-up handlebars. He replaced some fuel lines, cleaned out the carb and put in a new plug. We put gas in it and i crossed my fingers and man it fired right up. Im 43 now. That thing must have a million miles on it im not exaggerating. Ive owned around 30 streetbikes and 5 dirtbikes over the years and they all come and go. But not that Honda. Too many memories. Its turd brown and ugly as sin but it goes.... tops out around 45mph and that was fast enough to smoke any souped up moped the kids had in my neighborhood. I guess this is my calling to do some restoration. I know they brought it back around 25yrs ago i saw a brand new one in the dealership and couldn't believe it. Awesome video 👌

You sir, were as excited as I was to get to ride a Dax for the 1st time, and your reaction to it was similar to mine, I never thought I would get a chance but, I was having my 4000m? Service done at the dealer on my monkey to keep warranty good, and sat on one of those dreaming about what it would be like out on the road, and the lad on the desk said, that's our demo!... I was like WHAT!?🙌, when I asked to demo a monkey 2years ago you guys said we don't demo 125s as too many learners roll up for a free ride to hoon em about!, he said you can take it out, I was like "YES YES YES!" he said shall I put you down for 1 or 2 hours! 😅 (silly question)... wow I loved it, I took to the gearing no trouble, it's thin frame between your legs is a constant reminder you are not on a normal motorbike, so you remember to not use a normal gear change!, well I did anyway, I once commented on a ladies vid who bought a dax as second bike to her monkey, i said I dont get why you buy two bikes virtually the same, but now I get it!, I downsize from zx9r to monkey 1.5yrs ago and am happy still, small bikes are where the fun is at, many wont understand that, I wouldn't have years ago, It's made me love biking again, I prefer monkey looks but the dax has its own personality and i wouldn't change the gearbox, thats its character, get used to it, and learn to love it, its like driving a stickshift car, fun and engaging! 💁‍♂️

This is nothing more than a glorified Chinese clone Honda has gone down in their quality in the past couple of years I own the total of 17 CT 70s at one time I had a beautiful collection I sold every single one of them with all the extra parts I had, 12-ft trailer full of extra parts. Someone also said on here about the fender being down on the tire I agree that in the Chrome Sade cover looks hideous. The same goes with the XR650L this year looks like a Chinese clone

"It's not super fast" -- no the truth is that it is insanely slow, the usable top speed will be ~50, and you will have cars ripping by you in town on any road marked 35 and up. Think twice before buying a toy this slow -- you should have a specific use case for something like this.

Mostly agree. Wish Honda would give us a slightly larger version. Maybe 175cc. They're just not realistic for US roads. At least not stock version.

In the Philippines the Honda XRM 125 with dual discs and 17" wheels is $1,300 USD otd. 95% of bikes are 125-160 cc, bikes outnumber passenger cars/trucks at least 10:1. My XRM easily goes 90 kph one up, 80 kph 2 up, which is more than enough. Often see 3-5 people on a 125 here. However, in Canada this would be a city bike.

The honda grom is the most sold by bike honda in America right now. It's not that big of a problem if your not on the highway. This bike is the same speed as the grom.
