      @@dr.robinlewis Same for me. I'm 73 I am on medicaid and in Hawaii. There seem to be no doctors with your kind of training here that I can get access to under my insurance plan. I am like Lucy so happy to find your channel, you are truly a great communicator. I had my gall bladder removed because I had kidney stones. That's to a dishonest surgeon. I was diagnosed with Hep C and that was 2009 and at that time they said I had stage 4 liver cirrhosis already. I was refused the interferon treatment and was made to wait until 2014 for the new oral treatment. The Oral treatment cured the Hep C but I had serious cirrhosis by that time. Skip ahead I have been for the last two years trying to become metabolically flexible ie: fighting with my sugar addiction. I prepare all my meals and eat very little processed food. Of late I had a recurrence of an inguinal hernia where the surgeon insisted that I take spironolactone and reduce salt to get the distention down. He presumed the distention was ascites fluid, and some was caused by that I'm sure but how can I get my liver to regenerate as much as possible. help!!! I make my own yogurt with the L. Reuteri bacteria and eat that with Black, Blue, and Raspberries. I eat lots of eggs and protein from pork chicken and fish, and vegetables like onion, mushroom, asparagus, cabbage, sautéed in salted butter. I supplement using the shotgun approach essentially B's, D3-K2, magnesium L-Threonate, Benfotiamine, Lysine, and N-Acetylcysteine, zinc, and L-Tyrosine. Any thoughts Dr. Robin? I am 5'7" and weigh 145-140. My blood sugar now stays around 100. Oh ya and I have started making bullet proof coffee or tea with MCT oil. Wow that was a mouth full ya. And as a result of watching your vid. I ordered Ubiquinol and will take 100mg daily. .

    What are your thoughts on bovine colostrum for gut health?

    • @dr.robinlewis
      @dr.robinlewis  10 месяцев назад +1

      I’m a big fan. I don’t use a ton of it in practice due to struggles finding reliable products but I do think it’s helpful for the right patient. It’s most helpful for people with reduced immune function in the gut which is assessed by testing secretory IgA😊

    Dr, have you heard about AG1? Lex Fridman, Joe Rogan and many channels that I watch talk about it. I found it quite expensive but maybe will keep using it if I can't reasonably find other ways. Would love to hear your point of view as a third party. Many thanks!

      Hi Peter, I actually like the product. Many of my patients have taken and found benefits. It’s a great health maintenance option, but like anything it has its limitations. It kinda depends on your health goals.
