- Now we move onto Wily's Fortress... stage 2! This level gets its difficulty from sheer LENGTH! There's a lot of ideal places to screw up and die, and there's a familiar, hated mini-boss to boot.
There's also some projector enemies designed to do nothing more than mess with your head and a lot of Sniper Joes to annoy you as well.
The boss of this stage is pretty darn unique, and leave it to me to mess it up HORRIBLY when recording... XD I actually had to restart my recording from stage 1 again once because my remote's batteries died the moment I stepped into the boss room door... =x.x= By the time I plugged the new ones in, I was dead... XD That'd of been really dumb to put in the video.

This game is hard as hell compared to all the other games.
It took me 1 year on and off to beat tornado man and it's impossible to get past wily 3s boss

Although I sometimes play like a noob.
Useful tips
1) L. Trident Goes Right through the Sniper Joe's (Red Guy) Defense (3 Hits)
2) I find the miniboss really easy to kill with the M. Bazooka
4) Despite the annotation the ink ball's effect only lasts till the game is paused
5) Tip List Numbering Is NOT Important (just look at number 3)
6) If necessary the area in 3:46 is a very useful place to restock on ammo or health if you have the energy distributor thing (Just use the J. Satellite and walk back and forth)
7) With J. Satellite, the red guy's attack goes back at him, and you only need to use it once to kill one or two in a row. The same with the green things. You can save a lot of time with this weapon
I apologize if someone's already said this.
For the middle segment of this stage's boss, I always come in with a full Tornado Blow, then use it up. Makes that segment an absolute joke.

@@matthewcarrasco2963 they literally said it already, but you can cheese the second phase of the stages boss with tornado blow.
In MM9 you can survive spikes with an item. Think in halves all damage in a single map, after that spikes only take half a bar.

As far as this stage, I have to admit...Hornet Chaser is the main reason I got through it so easily. Though, I did have to farm for some energy...
I agree. This is now one of my favorite tunes of the series. It reminds me of a tune from Double Dragon 3.

With regards to the ink...you change back to normal colour if you swap weapons =)
Also, the spot at 4:25 is a great place to refill your gauges if you have the Energy Balancer. Stick a Jewel Satelite on and run back and forth, constantly spawning the two fish. They'll die on your shield and hopefully drop items. Once your jewel shield is full, your other weapons will be filled.
I usually use the Hornet Chaser on the homing missile part. The hornets destroy the missiles, then keep right on going into the launchers.
I normally use the Mega Buster for the center. Never had much luck finding a weakness there.
For the front, I use the Laser Trident and pray I fire it fast enough. Didn't realize Magma Bazooka would work that well.
The Mega Mech Shark is similar to the U-555 in megaman x5 in DuffMcWhalen.
Laser Tridet is the weakness of all 3 forms, but Magma Bazooka, Hornet Chaser, and Tornado Blow work as well.

For 4:47, I usually use Concrete shot to make a small block near that bottom right edge. But that is THE single most hated spot for me in the entire level! I almost always fall a bit short of my concrete block or hit my head (rarely) and die. It's horrible/evil level design if you ask me. >:(

Again very nicely done! Did you know if you play this theme on a piano the section at 0:43 - 0:56 has an epically nice chinese theme to it.
megaman 9's level designs are very creative and the boss battles as well

Around the 4:30 part i use J.Satelite and walk back and fort so the robot squid/fish or whatever keep reappearing and i get a bunch of items,health etc.
he stays inked until you switch his power out. :)

This boss reminds me of the Big Whale robot in Duff McWhalen stage in Megaman X5.

the second stage of the boss is much, much easier with the magma bazooka.
You don't have to jump. A charged shot will kill both the fish projectile and hit the weak point. I usually have 1/3 to 1/4 left by the next part.
On the last part, I actually used the black hole bomb. Sucks up his laser shots and damages the laser itself.
the ist form's weakness i'm not too sure of i think it's tornado,the 2nd form is hornet and the 3rd is the magma
It's not so much me not knowing how to do it, I just have a bad habit of choking at that jump for some random, unexplainable reason. XD I merely knew to get the Spike guard item cause I know my bad habits and guard against them. Thanks for the advice anyways though~
I just be tripping on how fast you shoot flawlessness almost never taking damage also I have watched all of your MegaMan vids 1-10 your the best so far in my book im on it now MegaMan 9 wily stages might move the PS5 out the man cave and put the PS3 in there lol
i bet what she means when the game didnt pause because her batteries were dead was maybe because she(or he) was in the transition from the safe room to the boss room where you can't pause the game.
That jump with all those bloody spikes...I bought the Shock Protection from the shop. But lo and behold, I ended up landing on some spikes before that where you can get the extra life...Now I can't afford another one and I can't get past the jump any other way. Damn it all. T_T I'm still a newcomer to the series...I probably should have started elsewhere. XD

Yes that is true but in the first room with the projectors you may not want to waste a J. Satellite or a T. Blow

To easily get the achievement: marathon FIght, use the J.Satalite on the first portion of the boss and wait 10mins.

Ootfan788 you’re better off doing that in the Plug Man stage, it’s much easier to get that one, and you won’t have to start off at wily stage 1 every time you want it

I have the game as well and I can confirm that the music that plays on this level is correct, the OST sounds different. I like the "in game" version more
the intro of the music sounds like a nes and modified version of smoke on water

Actually, if you're hit by the ink, get out of the water, or chane weapons to turn him back to normal.
If you get Protoman you can slide and charge.

She had a Shock Guard. Which basically allows you to take a hit from a spike without dying or even being damaged.

+Jon MacLennan I Figured out why. MAYBE. Apparently the OST is all the songs taken from the 360/PS3 releases. I think it sounded different due to the Wii having limited sound capacity? (Speaking in relation to Sonic 4 Episode 1 here with song qualities FTR)
+Jon MacLennan Either that, or that was oversight from CAPCOM. Either way, I prefer how the track sounds here than the 360/PS3.
+Jon X MacLennan Oh wow. You're right. I just looked up a video of Mega Man 9 played on the 360 and the music sounds exactly how it sounds on the soundtrack. So it IS the limited sound quality on the Wii.
