Mega Man 9 - Wily's Fortress : Stage 3

- Now we move onto the third stage of Wily's fortress! This stage brings a few new gimmicks and traps that have never been seen in any other Mega Man game! The stage is also fairly tricky because there is a lot of spiky areas, and plenty of absolutely sadistic traps to get players who try to fool around.
I won't spoil one trap in particular... but as for one of the gimmicks... This level features a couple of "gravity chambers" where Mega Man slowly floats upward towards the next room. What is really neat about this is that you can propel yourself around the room by firing your Mega Buster right or left! You can get yourself going pretty fast if you shoot rapidly.
The boss of this level... is interesting. Anyone remember the infamous yellow demon boss that has been featured in a few Mega Man games? Well this boss... is somewhat like fighting two of them at once, but there's a twist! The blobs being fired at you move in a set pattern, and once you memorize this pattern, you can go without taking a single hit pretty easily.
cough Though speaking of that... I only just figured that out halfway through the battle in this video, so pardon my poor performance through most of it... XD

One thing and one only: first Gate's Laboratory Stage's boss (MMX6). Just. That.

that boss was kinda hard.
There's a trick to trashing this boss quickly. Basically, time the pattern for releasing the BHB, and set it off right on the outside of the gel. The instant the core is hit, switch to the weapon screen and select something else. This deactivates the bomb. Now immediately switch back to the BHB and fire another one. Steer it up toward the other blob and detonate it right at the edge. If you timed it right, you'll hit the core again right before it enters the gel and becomes invulnerable.

I honestly wish they give the megaman legacy collection 2 the rewind feature, that would be useful to use for such annoying and hard

There is no rewind bro only a save checkpoint so if you die you have to reload the save without lose a life in other words you cant lose lifes

Thisnwhole game is evil makes me want to play megaman 3 or 8 and deal with that bullshit
haha, in the part megaman goes up I thought it was a bug then I shot to the other side😂😂😂
What's so crazy about 3:39 is how I EASILY got the M-tank on the first go, but got killed by the claw enemy - only to replay the section and have trouble getting the M-tank again.
When I did finally get it, I COULDN'T COLLECT IT because I already had one saved.
The full energy/weapon refill tank and E-tanks are a PERFECT way to balance this game, but I really feel your weapons should refill on your death instead. Then you wouldn't need the weapon tanks at all.
This stage is insane
A nice trick I figured out for the boss is to fire the gravity pulse once then the second you hear a hit. Pause the game and I havent played in forever so i cant recall if you have to switch to another weapon then instantly pause again and switch back to the gravity shot, then fire it again because its in close range and you can get 2 free boss hits in 1 pattern.
in the boss fight you did the exact same mistakes i do xD. but thanks in for your last videos I managed to beat Dr.Wily with only 1 E tank remaining(with the 1/2 damage item) and on my first try :D. and btw the way you cleared Dr.Wily's castle is simply fucking awesome!!!
At the 3:15 part, that was the first time I died horribly by those claw enemies I thought I was home free for not touching the spikes and all I had to do was keep going until I hit the wall on the right that's next to the ladder, but then that enemy appeared and pulled me straight into the spikes right next to it and killed me right then and there. When it happened to me, I was like this with my mouth open. =0.........................
That was pretty evil that they did that to me.
Is there any way to disable the effect where part of the music cuts off because of an overlapping sound effect? I get that it’s trying really hard to be an NES game, but I find it more annoying than anything.

To think that to this very day, I still haven't beaten this boss. I'm seriously pissed, because seriously, could they not leave the devil bosses alone for 5 minutes? Also is there some trick for activating the galaxy portal? Don't you have to double click it or something?
I just got the legacy collection and i now regret trying to beat it with no items first thanks to this fucker!

this stage is a pain i always stop playing up to this piont cause of the 2nd gravity room with a buttload of spikes and the helicopter enenmy at the top that pulls younright into the spikes and of course the 1up mettur gag on the bottlomless pit right before the twin devil ugh!! good job you make this look effortlessly
Right? I understand a good fair challenge but thode cheap tricks are what make me shut the game off.
this boss is a nightmare... i made it here last night with 6 lives, and no weapon energy in my b bomb...there was little i could do other then die over and over and over, and with no saves. i have to start back at the beginnig of wily's stage now...
