I'm 33, married for 9 years, 3 kiddos and I've been a SAHM for the past 3 years. I'm still struggling to manage my household, but I felt blessed by this your video. You have a very soothing voice and calm demeanor, so i just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work. I love getting advice from experienced Christian women❤ "God is our employer. " ... This is your job, just like any other, so do it well. This resonated with me so much. 🥰
Hi there. I'm a new subscriber. It's so refreshing to see someone my age talk about God and being a good wife and keeping my areas of the apartment clean. Also not neglected to forget to spend the first part of my day with God in the morning. I never learned from my stepmother how to cook or clean. Yes when I was a child we would have to clean our room, but later on I had to do laundry, but that's about it.
Ive been looking for a good homemaker channel that will help me to be a better stay at home wife and soon mother one day. Ive came across many but i feel so empowered after finding your channel in particular. Your video was very useful for me and i look forward to watching more. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with us. 🙏🏽
What’s helped me: picking a room or task to focus on each day. Monday’s I focus on the kitchen because it’s neglected over the weekend, Tuesday is the bathroom , Wednesday the bedrooms, Thursday living room, Friday basement play area. I just do a general pick up of the other rooms each day of needed. I do laundry three days a week, trying to fold and put away each load after it’s finished. I have a laundry cart with 5 bags that helps me sort laundry.
Yep. Daily maintenance (dishes, vacuum/sweep, tidy), weekly focus (Monday is x, Tuesdays is y, etc), monthly chores (more in-depth things, changing filters, etc), then sprinkle in things that get done quarterly, every 6 months, annually, as needed, etc. Made my own schedule years ago. As long as I stick to it, it works!
Husband is diabetic, 1 of my kids is gluten free, I’m low salt , 3 other kids no dietary requirements. Monthly meal planning has taken the overwhelm off of me for what I’m going to cook. I took like 3 hrs on one weekend to pick out our menus and the needed adjustment menus. But now, we have a plan. Totally worth it!
I can definitely relate! What really makes it hard is when, over the years, things change and you have to adapt. Some changes are easier to deal with than others...
Hi Merci, I found your video today and I’m very delighted with it. You are the kind of person that any woman wish to have as a friend, God bless your spirit and keep you working for the glory of God Venezuelan Christian from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for the home blessing quote! My mother had that on a plaque, but sadly it got broke after she passed away. I’m going to rewrite it and post it somewhere in my home!
This was good video, thank you! Lord bless you for sharing this content. I am doing all most of this, so was a good remind that I am good path. I will try do better with the tips for laundry and also seat and talk about budget One thing that I do, and is helping me, it’s take about 2 hours (week) to prepare a few meals/snack and freeze so I have always something easy in case. 😊 I will be watching all the links that you mentioned 🌷
Marci, thanks for mentoring this young generation to be Keepers of the Garden (husbands) and Keepers of the Home(wives). Awesome. Let me know if you want a copy of my book: The Pursuit of Marriage Oneness: The Key to Marital Success. Be blessed.
I’m a new wife and find it difficult to adapt to this new way of life, there’s a feeling that if I don’t succeed I am failing my husband recently the more mistakes I make the less Grace I have on myself I’m praying that God helps me and encourages me, sometimes I’m so filled with the guilt of not completed simple tasks and meeting my husbands needs it makes me feel very depressed, I don’t know how to break this shameful feeling.
You need to remind yourself of the gospel. So important for us to be reminded of who we are in Christ. I need to work on a video for this one but take a listen when you get a moment xoxo - thankfulhomemaker.com/podcast-ep-69-preaching-the-gospel-to-yourself/
Foodplannerapp is a brilliant tool. You collect recipes through a URL. When you use them in a meal plan it automatically generates a shopping list and adjusts your inventory. It notifies you when you are down to the last of an item. You always know what's in the back of the freezer. There are probably other apps that do this by now but this one is my favourite.
