Most of the times they just do not know the full deatails and extent of warranties, so they say no to get rid of you easily sometimes.

    Change Both and also the oil control valve because if you have this issue the other will go bad soon… second idk if it has anything to do with the issue but I use to do the oil change every 10k on my 2015 Malibu and I noticed the issue never came back when I switch to 5k oil change intervals and my car has roughly 265k right now and still running

  • @thirdeye530
    @thirdeye530 6 лет назад +49

    The code P16D0 is for the Intake rocker arm solenoid valve 2 stuck off. The solenoid you replaced is for theVariable Valve Timing system and NOT the rocker arm control system. The intake rocker arm solenoids are in the center/back side of the valve cover. You replaced the wrong part that had nothing to do with your code. Maybe know what you're doing before posting a video on RUclips because who knows how many people replaced the wrong part because of your video. You really should take this video down so more people don't waste their time and money.

      @fixit3879  6 лет назад

      About 2 months later the same code came up again and this time it was the Rocker arm Oil Control Valve on mine too at 72K miles. This sucks. I got the part for around $95 and a mechanic friend replaced it while I was busy with work. He did it for $50. It fixed the P16D0 code again.

    I have a 2015 Chev Malibu with 177000 km and it shows code 0089 and code
    0016. Code 0089 says it's the fuel pressure regulator and the 0016
    says it's the bank 1 camshaft position sensor. I called the dealership for the price of the FPR and they tell me they don't have one on the computer. A dummy like me believes him because I don't find any videos of anyone working on the 2015 which seems to be different than the others in the engine. Most likely. Sometimes can be exhaust one or the "OIL CONTROL VALVE" that is part of the engine oil cycle. Gives the same P16D0 DTC code. Using Synthetic oil helps prevent it. Also do oil changes ahead of schedule. These run pretty hot from what I hear. Good luck!!!

      How many miles do you have on the car? Have you recently changed the engine oil? What about the air filter? It could be one of many things, it is hard to tell without checking the car. Does yours have Start/Stop option for gas saving? I replaced the oil control valve once, which helped with vehicle idling rough and shaking at 30-40 mph speed. Here is that video:
