There are only a few times when you find exactly what you're looking for and this is one of them! Absolutely needed this video for our 2013 ls and this guy had it all covered in the video. Thanks a lot for this! You can't imagine how happy I am of finding this🙂.

Thanks for posting this! The Malibu 2.5L 4 cyl you're working on is the same engine that's in the 2015-2022 Colorado/Canyon truck twins and uses many of the same gaskets (except the actual camshaft cover gasket can vary by vehicle model) and vacuum pump.
Videos like this on the Malibu help truck owners see the rear of our longitudinal mounted engines when transverse mounted in FWD GM cars & SUVs (Acadia & Blazer).
Appreciate you taking the time to make this video so other 2.5L owners have a good visual reference for this repair.

    Thanks for this video.
The vacuum pump on my 2015 Malibu decided to detonate so now I have to take the "valve cover" off to clean up the parts that got into that area. This is pretty much the only video I've seen for this specific year and engine model combo.
    Much appreciated!

    Artistry photography
    I have the 2015 Malibu w/241K miles
same engine displacement as this one on the video.
The dealership replaced the cover because they said something had broken inside causing the cover to break from the inside thus needing replacement.
Along with that repair they also change the intake solenoid and rocker arm solenoid (which are the ones you called actuators) and lastly the oil control valve (which is the last convection you disconnected before removing the cover)
It alleviated some of the vibration that the car was experiencing when I was at a stop light at idle, however, shortly after those repairs a check engine light with code P0506 came on. So before changing anything I decided to clean the throttle body and the code never came back.
The only thing now is that I suspect the timing of my car might be off.
    Lastly, does the vacuum pump
(that’s the part on the side of the cover with a green connection holder)
When in operation is it supposed to make a clinking noise?
Thank you for the video very few videos on the Malibu simply because it is a new model and not so many ppl are able to work on the vehicle due to lack of knowledge or reading material about the engine.
If you come across another Malibu of this model highly suggest to make a video on how to do the timing chain job.

    • @crazysexycool180
      @crazysexycool180  3 года назад +1

yes it will make a noise when in operation.

@@crazysexycool180 since then I had the vacuum pump replaced and soon after I also replaced the fuel injectors as they were causing my vehicle to stall …after all that the car continues to work as if nothing has happened.
I definitely feel like Ive got my money’s worth for this car as I have done most of the maintenance myself and had very small mechanical issues to address.

I see this has been awhile. I do have a light oil leak on my spark plug threads. Left to right it’s #2. Is there a seal at the base that can be removed that is around the spark plug? Or could it be the PCV valve that you could’ve seen?
Like I said I know it’s been awhile. But I hope you do recall based on the video. Thank you in advance.
