I just want to say - thank you so much for your content that explores a wide genre from in-depth review of the history of the stalls, to how to order certain cuts of roast meat and, the review of the dish itself. Amazing work 😬👍🏻
Thank you Gregory for your informative videos. I am 8 months away from coming to Singapore to go to some of your favorite places for good eats. I've watched about 1/2 of your videos with another 1/2 to go. BTW, also enjoyed hearing the "food" opinions from your family members also. Hope to see more of them in upcoming videos. 😃
I myself would get a bowl of wonton vegetable soup and order a plate of char siu & roast pork. Kind of hard to eat low carb in SG. Im a insulin dependent diabetic.
Stay healthy Greg You have a lovely family Love your daughter she is a good eater too she loves good food Watching you having all these good delicious simple food made me so hungry in Canada ❤️🙏❤️
To reduce blood sugar spike, you could consider this eating sequence: 1. Vegetables, 2. Protein, 3. Carbohydrates. Better still, adding vinegar, some fats, and green tea can further reduce the rise in blood sugar.
Thank you for the recommendations! I actually have been going many steps further - I cut out carbs and sugars completely and eat a small amount of carbs maybe once twice a week. My blood sugars have normalised now 👌

I plan on visiting Singapore in 2024 for the first time in 25 years since moving to the US, with my wife who has never been. One of the dishes I'm most excited to eat again is Wanton Mee!!! Tried to make it here and it was only an approximation.
I am very certain most wanton mee stall or shop getting the description wrong. Real wanton mee which originated in Guang Dong. But there is no way you will see any char siew in the noodle. it same applied to Hong Kong Wanton Mee. But Singapore and Malaysia add in Char siew and to become what we eat those Wanton Mee in our region. So the varient of the wanton mee in Singapore and Malaysia have to name it Char Siew Wanton Mee. Let take this review for example, make no mistake. It is a good review and I reckon the name 88 Roasted Meat specialist for their Char siew and sio bak. But it would be better to named it Char Siew wanton mee rather than Wanton mee. Original Wanton Mee no char siew. That my opinion.
i finally realize why you were on this keto kick and that was that i finally found out that you have diabetes. i always thought it was odd that you were so into keto since asian food is so carb heavy. i too have diabetes and have often cursed god for this because i too love food, especially noodles which i now am restricted to not eating. anyway, now i understand why you are so keto friendly. here is a tip for you personally when you cook at home regarding carbs: if you cook any type of fast carbs such as noodles or rice and then freeze it, it transforms into more resistant starch. that means it will be safer for you to enjoy a bit without spiking your blood sugar too high, of course in moderation. i try this trick once in awhile so that i can enjoy a little of my favourite carbs occasionally. anyway love your content and best of luck with reversing your diabetes. by the way intermittent fasting is also helpful.

Right, this is a wanton noodles. May I ask where are the wantons? Below the noodles, in the soup or not there at all? This ain’t wanton noodles, it may as well be char shiu noodles. Enough said.
I totally agree - it’s my favourite. I love the sauce and the noodles and the char siew and the soup.
❤

Discovered this place just before Covid. Fantastic char siew rice !
I totally agreed that this is one of the best wanton mee! Their roast pork is great too.
Your food review is unique . Enjoy watching
I love it specially the green chili 😊

That's a very useful tip, although I prefer to just eat grass instead

Can't hear what's after the oyster sauce? What kind of soy sauce ?
1st brew soya sauce..
Hi Greg, i'm also a M'sian ex Musician, living in Deutschland, you know exactly what you are talking about. Thanks for the good job.😋
Full address please tq
Zermatt's video on this made the meat look great too, anyway the nearby Tai Hwa is really that nice? Tried before?
Just by looking that the charsiew can know its good
Where's this place???
They make probably the best char siu so that already puts their wanton mee above the others
Agree their roast pork really great. Noodles wise is great but not the best i tried. Love the vegetables choice they use too.
Great channel thank you.
i have this place on teh list for thier roast mat but will have to give the wanton mee i try too now lah
Why haven’t they received their Michelin stars yet????
Rather NOT so it stay’s nice priced.
I dont think we want a Hawker Chan 2.0… 😅
Have you try Zion Rd food center
Tried the Zion rd FC. Nothing shout about. Heavy on salt. The 2 young men is snooty to boot.

Take care! My support from Sarawak
HK style wanton Mee much different from local traditional wanton Mee
Unless the char siew are make by this stall.
I always have a massive lao sai after eating here lol, but the food is good
The main star is the charsiu i think, wanton is the supporting actor. c",)
Where is this food stall?

👍
For me I prefer this type of charsiu than the those 0ld school dry and red outside charsiu.
This is what charsiu is about but for me.
Noodle looks good. But from the look of the whites in the charsiew...is a just a run of the mill mediocre charsiew.
Right, this is a wanton noodles. May I ask where are the wantons? Below the noodles, in the soup or not there at all? This ain’t wanton noodles, it may as well be char shiu noodles. Enough said.
In the small bowl of soup. That's where most wonton mee stalls put their wontons
There is charsiew noodle and wonton noodle. Wonton noodle come with charsiew and wonton. Charsiew noodle only come with charsiew.
First
char siew is my favourite
damn im so hungry after watching your video. SO GOOD SO NICE SO DELICIOUS...
