Good evening Greg. I just had two weeks in Singapore focused on eating, gardens and looking at art. I used notes in part taken from your videos as a guide for the eating aspect of this adventure. This was a rather good move as it took me out of the mainstream tourist icons and into the suburbs (Mind you, I did hit the Colony Buffet). Mate, there is some really good food out there! One of the things I learnt was just how much food there was in 'coffee shops' rather than hawker centres. As I cruised through the suburbs, I would come across little collections of eateries all under one roof with one or two stalls with long lines (are these what are called coffee shops? I mean the all under the one roof thing not the long lines ). Nine out of ten these long line eateries were wonderful. The one real problem I had was getting across the idea that the stall holder should just give me some good food. They always wanted me to pick and choose what I wanted when often I had no idea what was on offer. Is there a word or phrase for 'just give me some good food' in Singlish? If not, how about you invent such a word? You're a journalist and all that. Aren't journalists the ones who's job it is to invent words of the now? Oh, and I need you to invent and popularise the word by next year when I will be back. Cheers Dr Mark
Hi mark, yes they are called “coffee shops” and just ask them what their signature dishes are (你的招牌菜是什么) (Nǐ de zhāopái cài shì shénme). Thank you for your entertaining post. Am pinning this if you don’t mind 😆
Today i Subscribed to this channel. I had seen many food RUclips and mostly are not local. They did fantastic job of introducing the food. Greg food videos does not have fancy B rolls. What he has is a sincere review of the food and when Greg gives his opinion on that food..you will not have 2nd thoughts. Cheers..Keep up the Good Work of introducing good food to Singaporeans and to the world
Greg, As always did a great job in finding such a gem and your commentary is always very genuine, this is the site that I go to if I looking for specific hawker food,!
Never tried this wanton mee before. I would drop by to try it when I'm around the corner. My favorite wanton mee stalls are Hua Kee at Old Airport Road and Hong Ji at Telok Blangah.
OMG I missed out sharing some screen time with the famous Greg! Yeah this wanton noodle shop is one of those gems that is unfortuantely, often forgotten about. I, myself, often go and just eat the fishball noodles instead... That could also be because it's always sold out by the time I make my over for lunch. I'm glad that you've come to the West side, Greg! I'd be keen to hear your opinions on the fishball noodles at the same shop and the food over at Beauty World Hawker centre and Bukit Timah Market!
My family lived in Singapore from the end of 1970 to early 1973. We lived in three houses and spent the last two months in the old Garden Hotel that was in Balmoral Avenue. Our first house was on Sixth Avenue and the next one was around the corner in Namly Avenue, near where former Prime Minister Goh lives. This angmoh uncle certainly misses his trips to Singapore and Malaysia. One day when money got and COVID not got!
You are a excellent eater So honest with the taste of the food, I really don’t know exactly where it is I left Singapore 46 years ago but the only thing I miss is the weather and the convenience of hawkers food As in Canada it is a different Thing Stay safe and keep up your beautiful videos 🙏🥂
Hi Greg thanks for sharing! Tried the roast meats at lavender recently . Excellent! Can I ask where the restaurant is for the opening sequence with the red cones and broth ?
Greg, mate love your videos. Just subscribed a week ago, and enjoy watching them very much. By the way, have you tried the Wanton Mee, along Binjai Park, in Bukit Timah. I believe it’s in Hup Choon Eating House. Looking forward to your next video, from your fan in Perth, Australia.
Like your honest conclusion, good to eat if you happened to be around the area.....No point travelling across the Island when there are many equally good ones out there.
Excellent content as always. Making multiple trips for a stall review so the marginal utility is always fresh. Also if there is always consistency in the food. 👍🏼👍🏼 (I always make it a point to let the ads play out for youtube content creators i support! 4 ads here! 😆 )
Any other recommendation for good wanton mee around the West side? I live around the west area but feel like most of the wanton mee in the area are kind of average. Wanton mee is my favorite dish so kind of disappointed.
im from malaysia, and when i visit singapore, i go after the most memorable wonton noodles are the two from dunman (must eat for me), why not review those? would like to hear how they fare against this.
agree although sg is safe... but today just heard from my colleague during lunch that he put tissue ppl also sit hahha and I have seen case a person take a laptop backpack and leave the place so naturally like the item is his. had to stop the guy few years back
OMG.. Mr Greg.....u reveal my secret fav. stall....siao liao ..hope they won't INCREASE the price after yr vlog....if they do!!!...I will unfriend u for SURE 🤭😂🤣
I am really scared of chicken feet. I wish I weren't because I do enjoy the flavour. I have only eaten them once in HK. As you say, I need to "get over" that fear!
Went there today with friends. Meh the wanton mee is so so. Nothing to rave about. Standard is similar to kopitiam nothing special to make a trip to there. DYOR.
I agree with your sentiment. Don’t use my vlogs as a definitive source, it’s only one man’s opinion. Always do your own research and as the saying goes, one man’s meat is another man’s poison! Thanks for your feedback bro 👍

Yes! its the one I go to when 6th Avenue Wanton Mee is too crowded lol.
You’ve just blown a well kept secret, man.
hi greg, where is the location of your opening vid? that looks interesting as well.
Hi, google “volcano ramen singapore”. You should find it
I was about to ask too.
Wow greg , u got a big tank...
Where would you suggest for wanton noodles if at sengkang?
Why why why at 1.18am this comes into my feed
Omg .. As hiiiokkkkkk
Waa jia lat already next time confirm long q!!!!!
好吃古早味
Like your honest conclusion, good to eat if you happened to be around the area.....No point travelling across the Island when there are many equally good ones out there.
Looks great!
Is it Possible to know what noodle place is it at the the very start of the video

Chow's big eat's has a video
YUMMY!!!
Looks like they use full egg noodles
Just tried the dumpling noodle.. overall is AVERAGE. Soup, sauce and chili was AVERAGE.
Try the wanton noodle at binjal park instead
Any other recommendation for good wanton mee around the West side?
I live around the west area but feel like most of the wanton mee in the area are kind of average.
Wanton mee is my favorite dish so kind of disappointed.
Fei Fei Roasted Noodle at Yuhua Market. He covered the stall quite some time back.
Tanglin Halt Market, the wanton mee stall (广州面食) that opens in the evening till late
Edit: Greg should feature this too
Nowadays singapure food are cheaper than indonesia food. You will never get that price in indonesia, that noodle wonton at least $6-7 in indo
im from malaysia, and when i visit singapore, i go after the most memorable wonton noodles are the two from dunman (must eat for me), why not review those? would like to hear how they fare against this.
those are my fav too! I prefer the one on the upper floor of dunman food centre!
Well if they speed up, the standard might drop and people expect more.
The last bastion.no one to continue
8:07 Greg your phone! Whenever I see food reviewer leaves their phone like that I have thought that it'll get knocked down or get snatched by a thief
agree although sg is safe... but today just heard from my colleague during lunch that he put tissue ppl also sit hahha and I have seen case a person take a laptop backpack and leave the place so naturally like the item is his. had to stop the guy few years back

I still prefer the wanton noodle . The auntie is always friendly
4:07 Because we all know that 'bar yew poh' or pork lardons enhances the soul like nothing else. Nothing.
Thanks for sharing ……… looks good but too far for me…. 👍👍👍
Kinda think any stall that has an old uncle or auntie handling orders with a hunchback sells good hawker food at this point. hahahaha
Bro saw god at 7:23 🤣
I am really scared of chicken feet. I wish I weren't because I do enjoy the flavour. I have only eaten them once in HK. As you say, I need to "get over" that fear!
6 avenue must at least sell $6
1st 🙂
The way you eat, be careful you'll get choked!
Dont eat pork meat or a bacon or a ham
