CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Bilbo (Martin Freeman) gets captured by a group of dim-witted trolls.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) joins Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and a band of dwarves led by the brave Thorin (Richard Armitage) on a treacherous quest to reclaim their mountain home from the fierce dragon Smaug in this epic fantasy adventure adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved novel by the creative forces behind the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Long before Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) made his arduous journey to Mordor, his brave uncle Bilbo embarked on an adventure for the ages. Bilbo's story gets under way when the great wizard Gandalf appears at his front gate with a most unusual offer. Displaced from their massive fortress in the Lonely Mountain by Smaug - a greedy dragon who coveted their gold - a community of noble dwarves were decimated by a surprise attack by monstrous orcs, whose dreaded leader the Pale Orc slew their king in a gruesome battle. Now, Thorin, the descendent of the king, is determined to reclaim his mountain kingdom for his people. Together with a fearless team of dwarves, Thorin and Gandalf recruit Bilbo to aid them in their quest since Hobbits have the unique ability to go undetected when they wish to. Before Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves can reach The Lonely Mountain and defeat Smaug, however, they'll have to contend with trolls, goblins, stone giants, Gollum (Andy Serkis), and even the dreaded Pale Orc himself. Peter Jackson directs a screenplay he co-penned with Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Guillermo del Toro.

So there I was at the presence of three monstrous trolls! And they were all arguing amongst themselves about how they were going to cook us.
Anthony Lopez where is it fron
@Jonathan Crayford Author and they spent so much time arguing with the weathertefs and whyfors and sounds bursts light crept from the top of the trees .......
POOF AND TURN THEM ALL INTO STONE

@@thehunter7422 AND TURNED THEM ALL TO BAGGINSES!
Anyone?
@@Matihood1 lol the RUclips poops of Lord of the rings are hilarious 😂😂
The musical score that all the dwarves have when they charge into battle is absolutely epic
Yeah it's the same theme as misty mountain but fast and with trumpets. I wonder what the name of the track is though.
@@OnePerfectJustice Roast Mutton
@@OnePerfectJustice or dwarves charge
I know
I just wish it was longer.
The misty mountain action score whenever the dwarves charged into battle was always so badass in this trilogy
🙏💯
How stupid do you have to be to like a single second of this nauseating trilogy?
I know I actually think the score for the hobbit trilogy was really good comparable to lotr. I just really wish they didn't use so much cgi, but I did like a lot of the cast overall.
@@LisaAnn777 I don't understand the argument with "too much CGI"- it looked f*king awesome
@@elizabethcatlion7015 A large amount of CGI just messes with authenticity and comes off as lazy. Sure they spent a ton of funding but a lot of LOTR fans are old-school. The orcs and enemies from LOTR movies were all makeup and masks yet it looked as real as CGI, and cost them 200 MILLION less
I like how in these movies they showed the teamwork of the dwarves, always jumping on each other to get to a higher position and so on
Tofu it’s just a little too smooth and choreographed, the only seemless moves like this should be done by Elves.
Julian David Hoffer to be fair they probably have those moves in standard training just because of the size of some of their enemies
@@juliandavidhoffer2022 You don't need to be pretty to do some of these moves. They're not completely smooth it's quite rough and chaotic so it's still Dwarvish
@@Sea-qv4sd yeah but when you think of a short stalky dwarf you don’t think of them jumping and being airborne lol you think of them being like an immovable object.
@@juliandavidhoffer2022 gotta adapt when you’re fighting enemies who are more immovable I suppose. But yeah I don’t imagine gimli doing any of this stuff
Pretty cool to see 1:30 Glóin (Gimli's father) with the walking axe that Gimli carries later on the Lord of the Rings movies.
Yeah, I like the continuity in the little details like this. Although I didn't notice.
^ nerd
Good catch
Badass
He also wears Gimli's helmet in the BoTFA.
Thats disgusting. Have to praise bilbo for staying calm after being a tissue.
I think stunned would be a better word for it. lol
calm? He clearly was shocked and feared asf
Dj Cuevas especially in this day and age.
Yep.
Anybody else disgusted by the fact they wanted to eat him while covered in snot?
Just another day in Liverpool.
Inaluogh 😂😂😂

You mean London?
After this scene when they are hit with light and turned to stone. The hobbits come across the stones in the fellowship of the ring
WavyJokes only in the extended edition of the film
Kriz Yamz no i recently rewatched the normal edition, they are in the background
Ikr and Sam chants a song he made up about them! Fellowship of the ring was so light-hearted compared to the rest of the triology, i love it:))
Regardless, they're there.
It’s in the Pornedition too.
did the troll just say "you wot?" at 1:20?
it did
Juicetine
And what of it?
Damn you beat me to it.
@misa smith as a southern texan.... I love you for that statement... you have really buttered my bumcheeks
@misa smith Southern accents are very ugly and low IQ sounding. Regardless of your political views.
This is the story that Bilbo told the young hobbits the Fellowship of the Ring! Am I right?
Trolls are also shown in the movie where Aragorn tries to heal Frodo´s wound.
Extended edition made it clearer.
They also encountered stone trolls in the LOTR novel
Fellowship of The Ring novel had many references to Hobbit.
In Rivendell, Frodo has a long conversation with Gloin about where are other dwarves (for example Bombur so fat that he needs four young dwarves to carry him around)
Yes.
no. You're not
@@jerichamesclammay3107 it is! In the Fellowship, We even see the troll Statues exactly where they got turned to stone
I thought he was lying back then.
I love Kili!! when he says "drop him" is so awesome!
IK!!
Yaaassss
You look like the main character from Pan's Labyrinth.
I always loved kili as much as the last two movies were alright this one is pretty good but Kili was my favorite character and I love how he was always the first to rush in to help a friend and when bilbo is captured he would’ve run in no hesitation if it weren’t for thorin
Mia Andreatta IKR 😘😘
He's reckless
Kiki and fili I love them both 😍 especially kili he's so cute
Balin is my fav
This is not how it happens in the book... But honestly I can't complain 😂👌 I love it
First, it's burrahobbit, Bilbo isn't sneezed on but caught pick picketing. The dwarves are all kidnapped without fight. Bilbo is merely forgotten by the trolls. But I love how the personalities are there still haha
Yeah, I'm actually reading the book right now and I watch the scene after every chapter, and this isn't how it goes. There wasn't really much of a fight, all of the Dwarves except Thorin get captured almost instantly by the trolls, but then the same thing happens to Thorin. Then Gandalf impersonates the voices of the trolls until they don't realize it's the morning.
Neither was Smaug crashing into the Master of Laketown. But I loved that.
Pizza Delivery Man i way preferred the book version, it felt more fantasy esque
I like the movie version, and great opportunity for a battle, but I wish they wouldn't remove Bilbo's riddley lines here. They also do that with the dragon, and with the spiders, ugh. The riddle talk is his thing, and Bilbo talking gives a hobbitish contrast to the rest of the world. I wish they wouldn't always remove Bilbo's lines. The should have just named these movies, "The Dwarves and the Elves Fighting" instead of "The Hobbit".
You can see how tough those dwarves really are. Even after getting kick by a troll, one of them still get back up as though as nothing happened
1:30 Perfect theme for your squads
I also love that they made these dwarves comedic and had a similar personality like gimli, but they were all badass warriors.
Man when he says "Drop Him!" and then they charge...The chills
1:37 LMAO when the troll kicks Nori across the campfire
LOL
Should’ve been ori...
Howard Shore should have won the Oscar for best score...easily.
BOFA was nominated, forgot it if won thought.
@@garretthochmuth4522 Sadly, it wasn't nominated. None of the Hobbit films were. Proves how the oscars are rubbish.
@@evanus you are right. All 3 film scores from the Hobbit were oscar worthy.
1:20 made me laugh alot
Y O O W O T ?
This has inspired me to everytime someone passes me off.
I love how kili says "drop him" and then he catched him a bit!💯
Unexpected Journey was the best Hobbit movie because it actually tried to replicate the whimsical tone of the book.
In the book the one drunk troll is like, "Aww, let 'im go, poor li'l blighter!" about Bilbo 😂😂😂 I wish they kept that
Hahaha I've just got past this 😂❤️
In the book the encounter was way different than the movie :/
1:30 Me and the boys when we fight an army of 2nd graders
Basically me and the bois in elementary school fighting 4th graders
And the sun is the principal.
How it feels when a gang of 1st graders gang up on 3 second graders
Props to the cameraman who had to stay calm and couldn't fight just to record this marvelous scene
That comment gave me cancer
The music playing was a more heroic version of Misty Mountains Cold.
1:25
"Burglahobbit, let's do 'Get Help'!"
"I don't know what you- AHHH!"
Love the marvel reference
this is the day Bilbo meets the Trolls he would tell this story to the young Hobbits 60 years later.
Kili is such a badass 🤪😂
One of my most favorite scenes and the misty mountain song scene in this movie
the soundtrack is the same theme too :) just on steroids here
When he said "drop him" he should've just dropped him into the pot.
Lol lmao
a good Slytherin 2005 U wot?
These trolls are trillion times better than ramsay
I love the way kili wanted to protect bilbo
I always find myself rewinding it back to 1:45, that hammer swing to the toes is brutal!
Yes my boy Bofur is a badass lmao
I like the fact out of all the dwarves bombers the only one that doesn’t have a proper weapon he has a ladle

.... Aaaah
The background music when the dwarves charge through the clearing is legendary.
Unexpected Journey is definitely the best of the trilogy. Desolation definitely has its moments especially the last third but the 1st is definitely the best.
It's the most like the book, the other 2 were fanfiction.
i liked all of them. the first is my favorite too. but they all were amazing.
@@virgogaming6488Lotr and the hobbit are fiction😬
Love their fighting spirit and the most important thing is their unity...
“An owalsize swiggo”😂😂 lol, the way the troll said that!!
1:20 British people when you say that tea. And biscuits don't make a good combination
The troll quotes are similar to the ones in the book but I actually like the fact the Dwarves come rushing in with their weapons at the ready
Kili says "DROP HIM!"
Kili falls over.
I first heard this story in grade school fifty years ago. It was read by the teacher who did the voices perfectly.
Nice man
Most teachers today are bullshit I think.
Every time the dwarves would fight in this movie, unless a different song was playing, they really only played that awesome misty mountains cover.
2:35 When the teacher spots you cheating
2:18-2:29 chills every time
nerd
That theme is definitely the best thing about the trilogy
i just wished they used it in the later movies more
Way to go Bilbo..... this is me every time I play a team game of any kind.
"U WOT?"
I laughed a lot at the scene that came after this where Bilbo tries to stop one of the dwarves from getting eaten by saying that he got worms in his tubes
The soundtrack just makes me smile
"...or will wip his off."
1:20
you wot?
I said, drop him!
Just got past this part in the book. Tolkien is hilarious 😂 I'm so surprised as I'm a fantasy genre beginner and thought I'd start with the classics (obviously) and not disappointed insofar
2:29
dentistry dwarf style...
Right after a vasectomy, free of charge!
Now he won't have anymore toothaches
1:01 i would have said "yes...um.. ill take you to them just put me down."
Bilbo used this troll reference when he was telling the children in the fellowship of the ring.
Oin and Balin... oh god... you suffered the worst of fates in Moria...
And after this day, "U wot?" would become a popular catchphrase for many gamers alike.
Kili is the most badass yet cute character ever
The moment that I heard the troll think that I came out of its nose I would have said" oh thank God I've been up there for two weeks finally I'm free"
When you and your party try to fight an invincible boss that is only supposed to die during a scripted event.
"Drop him!"
"U WOT?!"
Lmao i’ll drop anything for u, kili
Crazy eye troll 'I don't like how it moves around ,that part made me laugh because his voice
i was looking in the comments for anyone talking about this part of the scene but didnt see anything. Can we take a moment to appreciate the music kicking in again and the badass instinctual teamwork between dwalin and thorin at 2:16. Jump the fire and dodge the troll, roll onto the ground, act as a step so thorin can reach the face and arm of troll, stand back up in time to full swing after the troll recovers and then thorin attacking whilst the troll recoils for the recent swing.
Poor Bilbo
Really puts it into perspective why in fantasy Dwarves are considered badass Warriors. I always imagined that while smaller height wise then men, they would actually be denser, heavier and stronger.
Trolling the trolls.
Just realised @1:10 the troll that says "make him squeal" squeals 2 seconds later when Kili attacks him... thought it was clever and hadn't noticed it before
1:15
I like the Scottish dwarf with the axe
So valient how he saved that hobbit from the british
1:20 "YOU WOT?"
Aaaah! Blimey! Bert. Bert! Look what's come out of me hooter. It's got arms and legs and everything. Lol.
What is it?
"Lay down your arms - or we'll rip his off!" Brilliant wordplay.
1:19 U wot m8?! 🤣🤣
1:20 U WOT?!?!
Love this group of Dwarves so much.
I love how Kili protects Bilbo like a little brother 🥺
Weird how they seem to get hit so much but don’t seem to really take damage.
That's modern fight scenes for you
Imagine just hanging out with the boys in your forest, talking about random stuff only to get assaulted by more then a dozen little men out of the bushes
decades later that's the same spot Frodo will be trying to stay alive after the witch king stabbed him
Everyone: proper weapons
Ori: 'angry birds music intensifies'
1:19 YOU WOT?!
Fun Fact: This was one of the only places that Thorin had Bilbo and come off the night! If you watch the series, you have seen the moment just go right into the camp. The other dwarves. No other troll could they!
@Azuri e Right lmao
2:25
Now just imagine what these dwarves could have done if they had the dwarf weapons from Warhammer Fantasy!
I like that the more naked the trolls are the more difficult to kill. It seems armors drops their resistance.
"U W0T M8?!"
2:26 did that troll just receive a ballbuster from Dori?!
YES LMAO
In the book Bilbo and the Dwarves all got captured by the trolls and it was Gandalf who confused them with the best way to cook them all and then the sun came up and turned them all to stone
I wonder when trolls stopped roaming the countryside looking for people to eat and started just staying at home and saying mean things on the internet 🤔
RIP Bilbo, he sacrificed himself so the quest could go on. He will not be forgotten.
Adam Rycroft lol no he didn’t
How 7 year old me told my dad that me and my friends fought the 4th graders
1:29 when you and the boys save your friend from going home with three ugly girls from the club 😂
The book recalls this scene a little differently...
1:20 YOU WHAT?! 🤣🤣🤣
