No matter what you think of the quality of these movies, Fassbender's acting is always incredible.
It is the little things
These later films had so much potential, and couldn’t adapt the original stories better?
Most of the actors do a decent or even a great job, but directing and scripts are the main issues in my opinion. Good actors can only do so much to elevate bad material.
He's the best part of the x-men reboot tbh
@@LeonardoKlotz
One of the coolest things in a film chock full of cool stuff, Fassbender in "300" is phenomenal!!
If you haven't you must see him in Neil Marshall's "Centurion"
The scene with Erik losing his family in the clearing is both heartbreaking and an amazing example of Fassbender's acting AND Erik's pain and rage. It makes me feel so many things.
nah it's lame
@@TonyDracon cool
@@TonyDracon your comment is lame
Agreed, up until he screamed at the heavens like a direct to dvd action flick.
@@TonyDracon the writing is lame but the acting isn't
"NOT THE OPERA HOUSE... NO...ERIC... STOP WITH THE LANDMARKS MAN... NOT SYDNEY... GOD DANG IT."
Haha as an Aussie, I felt that! 😆
Right? It's always whatever major landmark in the city that gets targeted. It's the Opera House if it's in Sydney, the Eiffel Tower if it's Paris, the Statue of Liberty if it's New York, etc. Hell, the Statue of Liberty gets wrecked so often in movies that it's basically a trope all it's own at this point outside of being the "destroy the landmarks" thing
I'd like to see something in Melbourne or Canberra receive the same treatment as our dear Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
I’ve never seen the Opera House get destroyed, and I don’t ever want see it again.
@@VegetaLF7 Don't forget the Hollywood sign.
Natalie: these movies are just fun.
Also Natalie: Logan is next.
….. 😳
I love how Natalie could tell what would happen to Erik's family the literal moment they were introduced
Right?! Lol never fails
Tbf, that was pretty much everyones reaction. Its a bit too obvious they only get introduced to die.
I personally don’t even think about it, just passively observe movies. Her active interpretation is to me an interesting way to watch a movie. My reflections take place after the fact.
Well to be honest that doesn't really reflect well on the script. It's kind of the problem with this and so many other movies, they are so predictable with all the tropes and clichés.
Well it was pretty damn obvious 😂
i LOVE how Natalie is still trying to connect the movies in a way they make sense but the truth is they just don't. they have the messiest timeline ever and they just accept it.
Yeah, the original trilogy followed one story and was consistent but ever since then it’s been all over the place. I still enjoy the movies but you have to not ask a lot of questions.
One of the reasons why I loved Logan. It's so disconnected from the other movies (outside of Logan and Charles' relationship) that you don't have to try to make sense of the timeline.
The new trilogy doesn't have to match up with the original trilogy because it's a new/different timeline
@@sti454 Except that Days of Future Past connected the two timelines and there are major contradictions. Charles' paralysis for example.
@@doughbafett lol right, shoot first class directly links itself to the first X-Men movie
Eric is a classic example of
"Why are we here? Just to suffer?"
Edit: I love your one sided banter directed at the characters. Glad I'm not the only one that does that
The school explosion scene is incredible, I'm in awe of it everytime I see it. Beautiful!
Yeah, it actually took longer to film that scene than it did to film the rest of the movie!
Thankfully the school engaged a physics dampening field.
Is that scene generally popular? Because all I remember is thinking this isn't nearly as fun as the first time they did it
@@noremac7216 That scene is pretty much the only thing most people remember about this movie.
@@noremac7216 it's literally the most popular part of the entire movie.
Fassbender’s Magneto is just so good and carried the younger gen of X-Men. The acting, the pain, the power he has that doesn’t need to be amplified, just so unbelievably good that i can’t even explain it
"There's no way they are going to beat Apocalypse"
Actually it's gonna be super easy. Barely an inconvenience.
i understood that reference. Understanding references is tight.
If they didnt have the Phoenix, they would be f***ed
THAT'S FROM THAT OTHER CHANNEL!!!
Wow wow wow wow...wow.
@@danielletch Yes it is, sir!
I too felt so bad for Erik, with losing his wife and daughter. I swear with both Erik and Logan, it seems like they're both destined to miserable lives of pain, loss and tragedy
Fun fact about Micheal Fassbender. He is such a well trained actor and is so focused and controlled in his performance ability that it's said he can on command shed a tear and even control from which eye according to Bryan Singer, the director for this movie and several other in the X Men franchise. That is some next level acting ability
It's a lot of fun getting to re-enjoy and experience these movies along with you. Wolverine in this movie is made to look like the classic "Weapon X" version of him from the comics with that headset and everything.
Logan is gonna be a REALLY intense experience, and I'm super looking forward to seeing you get into it!
Likewise, I watched Logan on an IMAX screen when it was first released it was a brilliant experience
The sequence where Warren (Archangel) gets his armored wings courtesy of Apocalypse is a direct lift from the X-Men comics. Warren, in the comics, lost his wings during an event called Mutant Massacre and he was really depressed as a result and spiraled until he met up with Apocalypse who grafted him new metal wings onto Warren's body. As a result of the procedure, Warren got blue skin.
@MINI DIVA no
And here it's just a matter of handwave and boom metal wings.
@@Tuikkal Makes sense given Apocalypse's powers.
I liked the running joke among fans that Natalie sort of touched on here - that Apocalypse's real power was creating fantastic makeovers. He needs a reality show on Bravo.
Did the writers of x-men get blue pens extra cheap? Most characters that get a colour becomes blue.
I'm not that into comic books so I could be wrong.
As predictable as that scene was, seeing Eric lose his family just breaks my heart.
While he did co-create the X-Men with Jack Kirby, Stan Lee only wrote 19 issues of the book. Most of the really popular stuff was created by Chris Claremont. He wrote the book for 17 years
The comic was on the brink of failure at that point.
@@Thomas-kj1fk It was a failure at that point. It didn't have any new stories between 1969 and 1975, until Len Wein and Claremont wrote the Giant-Size X-Men and introduced the new team with Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Thunderbird - plus from the old issues they used Sunfire, Banshee and Cyclops. Chris Claremont turned the X-Men into the incredibly huge success that it's known for today.
I got to meet CC at a con, I got to speak to him for about 20 minutes. It was an amazing experience.
Kirby and so many others get no love at all from the movie producers.
Meanwhile they all but lick Stan Lee's arse on screen with every unnecessary cameo treating him like he's made everything.
@@mnomadvfx I'm sure the MCU would've bombarded us with Jack Kirby cameos too, if he didn't die way back in '94
In my opinion this movie has the best ending of the x-men films. The conversation betwen charles and eric, the suits, and the music with that final shot. Amazing
I thought the same thing when I first saw it, I didn’t like the movie but man the ending had me so amped for the potential of the future!
What a waste…
Still prefer Mystique as a villain, but yeah. A better ending than butchering the Dark Phoenix a 2nd time anyway.
its better as the official flow into xmen 1.. dark phoenix fits in one timeline OPPOSITE the main and new one.
If this makes her ugly cry… wait till she gets to Logan…
That’s what I said!
i never watched Logan...will watch on youtube with Nat!
True
@@staggeredpotato6941 - seriously; brace yourself
This timeline makes a lot more sense when you realize the end of Days of Future's Past was just the "good ending" of the original timeline.
The only real plot hole is Mystique picking up Wolverine as Stryker yet he still gets experimented on, something that's well-established Mystique is vehemently opposed to.
Ohhh, Logan is next? To quote a certain meme: Honey, you've got a _big_ storm coming. If Apocalypse made you cry... Well, you'd better bring two boxes of tissues for Logan.
The thing Wolverine was wearing was something they fitted him with when they first gave him his adamantine skeleton. It feeds him drugs designed to control his behavior - adrenaline when they want to get him to fight someone/something, sedatives when they want to “pack him up.” If you look up his time as “Weapon X” in the comics, you’ll probably see pictures of it.
Isn't the real reason why he's wearing that helmet simply because he wore it in the comics?
@@vetarlittorf1807 what's your point?
@@vetarlittorf1807 And in the comics, that was the reason he was wearing it. What's your point?
Not to make fun of you, but if this one made you ugly cry, I may have to buy you a pack of tissues plus a water bucket for Logan!
No doubt. That one's a tough watch. Still haven't watched it through a second time. Rewatching some scenes is awesome but that's a tough one to do more than once.
Nat will fill a whole pool with her tears 😂
Please Kleenex, send her a pack!
That movie got spoiled for me and I watched it 7 months later. And I still cried. I cried like the way I did when my grandpa died (the closest person I've lost). It was unbelievable how much I got invested in these characters.
At the movie theater (I went alone, Thank God) from about the time we meet Calliban until the end credits song, I didn't stop crying.
I always cry for Magneto. His family and when Charles reached out to him. Gets me everytime
"X-men: Apocalypse made me ugly cry"
Yeah me too when I first watched it because I thought it was bad. :( Many years later I enjoy it, it's not the best X-Men movie, but it's also not completely terrible. And I can't wait until we see X-Men in the MCU.
Seriously, the only thing it has going for it in my opinion is Michael Fassbender's acting and that epic Quicksilver scene (which I feel blows the Days of Future Past scene out of the water)
@@VegetaLF7 See part of what made the Days of Future past Time in a Bottle scene so great was the impromptu nature of it. It just felt like pandering in this one for me. I did really enjoy fassbender's acting as usual, but I'm with you guys. I really enjoyed first class and Days of Future past and was very much invested in this new X-Men universe. This movie honestly hurt my feelings with how bad a disappointment it was
When I read the title and I was like “what the hell made you ugly cry in this movie?” Then I remembered… Magneto’s family… damn 🥺
same here.
Made me ugly cry when I seen what a mess they made of one of my favourite villains . It’s ivan ooze !
I didn't cry when I saw the movie but it did make me tear up little bit watching it here now. Fassbender and McAvoy carried the X-men past saga just like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen carried the originals, absolutely amazing performances from all of them.
am i the only one who didn't care? like you introduced them a few minutes before they died. how was i supposed to get attached and like mourn that relationship when I knew nothing about it. Like, I don't care
@@eleven-hopper it’s not so much about the characters who died as much as it is about how it effected Erik. If you get invested in these movies, like Nat has, you just want Erik to be ok. He went through the Holocaust, he watched his mom die, he spent a lifetime hunting down the men who contributed to his suffering. You just want him to be happy for once and be fine. Then he gets that with this family and it’s taken away from him, sending him back down that dark path. It’s like Nat says when it happened, dude just can’t catch a break
Natalie: X-men: Apocaypse made me cry

This is so true 😅
I laughed way harder than I should've
It ain’t bad. Espically after dark Phoenix lmao
@@AvEnGeD7X238 It's bad. Specially after First Class and Days of Future Past.
@@AvEnGeD7X238 Just because Dark Phoenix was worse doesn't suddenly make this movie good
Here's some comic info that sheds some light on a few things for you:
Nightcrawler = Mystique's son with Azazel
Storm = Started life as pickpocket in Cairo and is descended from a goddess
Magneto's two kids = Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver, though they weren't allowed to have Wanda in this due to licensing
Apocalypse = Uses celestial technology to steal powers and always has four horseman
Jean & Scott's relationship was actually forced upon them by someone whom we haven't seen in the movies yet (edit; I forgot about the end Easter egg. The name of the guy that forced Jean & Scott is Nathanial Essex, aka Mr Sinister)
I really enjoy Nat's emotional reactions. She has a tender heart for others. I liked Olivia Munn as Psylocke. Some Michael Fassbender movies for a Patreon poll: Centurion, Macbeth, Assassins Creed, The Snowman, Haywire, Inglourious Basterds, Steve Jobs, 300, Eden Lake. I'm excited for you to watch Logan next.
Hunger, Shame and Jane Eyre are also amazing
I have seriously been looking forward to this reaction! “X-Men: Apocalypse” may be controversial among fans, but I have unabashedly loved this movie ever since 2016; it was one of the funnest theater experiences I’ve ever had as a lifelong X-Fan and while it’s imperfect, I think it has WAY more good than bad.
I think the movie is a bad disaster film. The disaster doesn’t happen until the last half hour and was only shown in a few short clips. The movie instead focuses on repeating moments and arcs from the previous film or setting up future movies. It literally fails its premise.
You just made me remember that this came out in 2016. Time flies...
It's mainly hampered by a very straightforward 'stop the evil mutant' plotline compared to how twisty and morally complex the previous two were. Apocalypse was everything we could have expected, but in the comics and cartoons he's really flat, comparable to comic book Thanos or Darkseid as an 'ultimate cosmic evil' type baddie. Maybe they could have changed him here, made him a bit more sympathetic and fatherly towards his 'children'.
@@WhiteFangofWar The movie doesn’t even focus on the X-Men fighting Apocalypse as I stated above. It focuses on rehashing moments from the previous films and setting up other movies. It is a very unfocused film.
@@agentofchaos7456 i dunno, i thought it was the 3rd best xmen movie. order of best being LOGAN, the wolverine, X-MEN apocalypse, X-men -days of future past, then maybe the first academy movie when Xavier had hair
Knowing what I know of the comics and the old school cartoon, the cheesy moment where Jean entered Xavier's mind made me tear up the first time I watched this movie. Love the dynamic between those characters and have since I was a kid. Apocalypse is a total guilty pleasure movie for me - not really that great but still one I love revisiting.
There are a lot of great, timeless scenes in a guilty pleasure....
What annoys me about it is how badly the villains other than Apocalypse are treated though.
Basically the only one that is truly dangerous to the X-Men is the one who turns on Apocalypse first - some Four Horsemen they turned out to be.
@@mnomadvfx The villains working for Shaw in First Class are no different
The quick sound we hear as Jean lets out the Phoenix at 29:16 is one of the most satisfying bits of audio to show power in any movie or TV show. That little soundbite alone makes you feel. I really enjoyed this movie as bad as it was.
Nat is really popping off on these reaction videos. I hope she turns out to be famous and an influencer cause she has her heart on the right place for sure
The headset that wolverine was wearing was to control him and brainwashed him to bring out his murderous instinct in order to become the perfect weapon/assasin.
I just want to say I've been watching your reactions for a few months now and you're so great! Your reaction literally made me cry, I love watching you react and hearing your thoughts. Thank you so much, you're a great reactor Natalie!
It’s great fun watching you as a casual viewer getting to know the X-Mem through these movies! Glad you enjoyed Apocalypse. Logan is tonally different and very intense, though. Brace yourself!
Erik losing his family is very sad.
Natalie's reaction is hilarious.
I really like this one, and the two previous X-Men movies, I find them more enjoyable than any of the other X-Men movies.
I didn't care much for the portrayal of the villain in this movie, but I like the idea of the character. But none of that ruined the movie for me.
Yeah the first 3 prequels were my favorites. The addition of Fassbender and McAvoy really elevated them for me. I pretend the 4th one (Dark Phoenix) doesn't exist though
The line with Eric was beautiful in this movie! When he sang for his daughter, I shed tears because I understood that we were being prepared for something bad ((( If there had not been an earthquake/awakening of Apocalpsis, Eric would not have had to use his abilities to save his colleague.
I honestly don’t understand the point of the family at all. Magneto was already a villain and in the previous movie he said that mutants shouldn’t hide pretend to be something they are not but does that very thing in this movie.
@@agentofchaos7456 The character of Erik, as written in the comics pretty early on, if given a blank slate is a pretty decent person. it's only when bad stuff happens to him (as a kid in the concentration camps - his family in this movie) where he goes into real villain mode. There's a story run in the early x-men comics where his memory is erased and his body is de-aged to a much younger man. He takes Charles' place as head instructor at the mansion for awhile. Slowly, as bad stuff happens, he slips back to being a villain.
@@darevsool9148 Magneto reforming in the comics made sense as he realized that he basically became what he hated. That didn’t happen with this version of Magneto. It neither shows or tells you why he reformed or married a human woman.
Thank you so much for showing emotion on erics part almost every reaction i have seen no one acknowledge this scene. Like I've seen every reaction on RUclips. Btw i never comment but I've been a fan since 2020
Great reaction! I've always liked this movie. I've never understood the hate for this movie. No, it's not better than Days of Future Past. But, it's still a solid follow up to it. Bryan Singer was at his best when directing these X-MEN films. (Yes, he did good with The Usual Suspects as well.)
for me the best thing about the movie was Quicksilver, he is one of the best in this saga (along with Wolverine)
definitely
And they did him absolutely dirty in Dark Phoenix ;(
IKR
I've watched that mansion scene like a hundred times. It's such a cool and fun sequence.
Would have been great if she'd seen this before WandaVision...
omfg that "apocalypse" when you pasted over Moira's face HAHAHAH!!
Thank you for reminding me how much I liked this movie. It's a bit mature to share with my kids, but now I want to watch it again. Apocalypse is such a great villain, he really drew out the desperation to force them to come together. I was never a comic reader, but loved Apocalypse and Phoenix storylines from the 90's cartoon. This reboot is doing much better justice to the characters that show taught me to love.
24:20 Exactly what i've been saying since the first movie. Thank god Charles is a good guy cause you don't want someone with the power to control every mind in the world to be evil and unhinged. Remember in X2 the villain was using Charles to kill all the mutants in the world? Yeah he can do that good thing he's not evil
Chris Claremont is the writer who came up with Days of Futures past btw. And he also did the Phoenix Saga and several other iconic X-men storylines
"This is just an utter shitshow!" probably one of the more positive reviews of Apocalypse.
Stay mad
If you like James McAvoy, you will love Split. He KIlLS it in that movie. Such a great performance
Totally agree!!!!!!
She might want to watch Unbreakable first so that the follow up movie to Split makes sense
Great reactions as always! I'm a big X-Men fan so I'm just waiting for the day that they finally get introduced into the MCU. I'll be so happy that day!

In the comics, Apocalypse's powers include immortality and complete control over his every atom. So, he can change his form into anything imaginable, and he can manifest any mutant power.
yeah the changes made to Apocalypse was one of the things that disappointed me with this movie and how he was more Shadow King than En Sabah Nur
correction he isn't really immortal, he can die. he can just be revived if there are still Externals alive, his powers are super strength, super speed, durability Teleportation, psionic manipulation, TK, flight, Telepathy self molecular manipulation, which allows for biomoprh, heal, size alteration, self power bestowal celestial energy manipulation
I am sorry, but when you looked at the Camera while crying, I laughed my ass off haha

The whole bit with Charles fist fighting Apocalypse in the astral plane reminds me of a couple of scenes in Legion with David (which is funny, both Charles and his son getting into “physical” fights telepathically)

Still pissed that they never used those amazing costumes shown at the very end by far the most comic looking X-Men outfits we've seen so far only to be thrown out with Dark Phoenix.
Never understood why they even create those outfits if they never used them those were the perfect modern designed and were also perfectly tailored to their personalities even Mystique had an amazing outfit wearing clothes finally like her comic counterpart. But for me Cyclops was favourite.
You do know the ones we see in Dark Phoenix are comic accurate too, right?
@@vetarlittorf1807 Fair, but they look tacky
Hopefully we’ll get good ones when marvel takes over
@@vetarlittorf1807 Based on the New X-Men 2000 costumes yeah but I'm speaking on the 1980s era of the X-Men when this movie takes place drawing more from the Giant-Size X-Men of 1975 to the 1990s Animated series these being comic accurate to what most people think of when they picture the X-Men. I do enjoy the New X-Men look pretty much the film black leather militant suits with a big yellow X over the chest but Dark Phoenix didn't pull it off at all like Ismael mentioned they just look tacky.
“IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FROM ME!? Is this what I am? Is this what I am?”
That scene fucking broke me. This alternate timeline version of Erik/Magneto deserves peace. Micheal Fassbender can act, even in a film like this. Imo Magneto is his best role and he was a brilliant successor to Ian McKellen.
At the end, the briefcase that had the insignia "Essex Corp" was a nod to the character Nathaniel Essex, aka Mr Sinister, who did some testing & research on Scott & Alex Summers' blood & their powers.
I was in Essex County watching this video and people gasped when they saw Essex on the screen.
If she's ugly crying now, just wait till she sees Logan. She won't be able to EVEN!
She's gonna need a shoulder to cry on and lots of tissues
Now onto Logan, easily the best film in the X-Men franchise, by far.
Really? I can't stand the little girl screaming her head off the whole movie. Drove me to the point of insanity, it took me 3 times to watch it.
Erik losing his family is both an example of stellar acting and contrived writing. Fassbender never ceases to amaze, but the foolishness of that scene took me out of it. It just felt too obvious and too neat and... I dunno, when Fassbender yells to the sky "Is this what you want from me?" I imagine he's not acting and it's really just him yelling at the writers.
Okay, Nat. Trivia time. The song playing during the Quicksilver running sequence is called “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” by Eurythmics. Logan with that headgear on is during his time as “Weapon X”, where he had just gotten his adamantium skeleton and was brainwashed by Stryker to be a feral killing machine. It’s also why he had amnesia for years.
I love that you come into these films with no nerdy baggage, and just enjoy them for what they are. It makes the whining nerds like myself reframe their experience with the series.
Logan is definitely the best of the X-Men movies. It's a very emotional movie. Can't wait to see your reaction to it.
I didn’t really like it, never saw the appeal. It was okay I suppose it just didn’t live up to the hype.
No. Logan is the best Wolverine movie we will ever see. Days of Future Past is the best X-Men movie we will ever see
Wrong
One of for certain but still tied with days of future past as #1

@30:33, in the current comics it's disclosed that Moira is and has always been a mutant. Her power is that at the moment of her death she mentally time travels back to before her birth and lives her life over again. But each time she actually remembers her previous lives. With this knowledge she helps Charles and Eric guide the future.
In each lifetimes she takes different careers. Sometimes she is a scientist, sometimes she is SHIELD agent others she is an assassin.
ok.. Your reactions are, as always, great...
But what I like even more is how you are analyzing the movies as well - commenting on actors, cinematography etc.. Really appreciate that. (More please!)
I know I'm in the minority, but I absolutely loved the Apocalypse speech as he launched all the nukes.
me: **listens to Apocalypse speech**
also me: **bows before Lord Apocalypse**
hate to break to you but that's the speech of every tyrant and dictator before they off everyone they can
Yeah during that scene it had Stan Lee's favourite cameo because he got to share it with his wife. :3
You are not, I do love this movie too.
It's one of the few moments where I actually recognize Apocalypse. He needs to be grandiose and a huge ham.
The way I see it, if you know absolutely nothing about the character from the comics, then this movie is not that that bad. But if you know even just a little of how powerful and dangerous Apocalypse really was, then the movie is a major disappointment.
Grew up with the original animated series, hence, this movie was a major disappointment for me with Apocalypse.
I just started an internship with American High and noticed you're in a ton of their movies. So cool to see you screen!
I love the part when Mystic saves Nightcrawler, cuz I remember when I was young I used to watch the Xmen evolution cartoon, and that’s how I found out Mystic is actually Nightcrawler’s mom! They don’t say it in the movies tho, so idk if we can take that into consideration😅
The only thing that I said "that's enough" was how each film they included J-Law as Mystique, they made her more like Katniss Everdeen. This one, the cheesiest ending with her speech at the end still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The original one was the best.
I also say enough when they make a point to cast a Jubilee for each movie, and then she’s basically just a background extra.
Yea. J Law is a great actress. She's a better actress than Rebecca Romijn. She's not a better Mystique than Rebecca Romijn. They really tried to force a side character into the main character spotlight.
Yeah but those suits tho.... I am still upset they didn't carry those over for Dark Phoenix
Dont ever change Nat, please dont ever change…. I love that you can just enjoy anything and get so invested
We actually haven’t seen much from Essex Corp yet other than that end credit scene. The leader of Essex Corp is Mr. Sinister who is one of Deadpool’s main villains which we might see in a future Deadpool movie. Also, Logan might have come out before Dark Phoenix, but Dark Phoenix takes place before Logan in the new timeline created by Days of Future Past. Don’t forget New Mutants either, it was the final X-Men movie before the merger with Disney was finalized and it takes place after Logan with Essex Corp as the bad guys starting that storyline for whenever Disney decides to pick it back up.
In the comics Apocalypse had the pleasure of handing Kang the Conqueror his ass in his first attempt at time domination and it was his alliance with a younger version of Kang that gave the 616 Iron Lad which would be amazing to see that storyline in the MCU.
I'll tell you what's refreshing. Watching someone watch these movies and enjoying them for what they are. I remember watching this when it came out and thought it was a lot of fun but the internet and critics weren't having it. It's always a bummer when you want to talk about a movie you enjoyed and it seems like everyone around you is actively hating on it.
Christ, wait until you get to Logan if this made you cry!
Exactly. I seriously worry for her when she watches Logan.
It’s also cause she’s Jewish/Israeli & has expressed how magneto’s story resonates with her the most
Fassbender scene losing his family is incredible but my fav scene is definitely Angel's transformation.
One of Apocalypse's really iconic powers from the comics and original X-Men animated series was him being able to grow really big like that, so when he did it in the movie, my friends and I were squeaking.
“She hasn’t aged a day” Look who’s talking 😂
There’s a deleted scene of the X teens at the mall and I wish they kept it, it was fun. Check it out
“Even though I thought he wasn’t captured by Stryker because it was Mystique in the last movie” RIGHT?! It was pointless! He ended up captured for Weapon X anyway!
The equipment on Logan was for analysis and combat, and some amount of control. Straight from the Weapon X comic story, though he had a full helmet
Maybe growing big in the real world like he usually does was a bit too ridiculous, but I would’ve been curious to see it
Essex is in reference to Nathaniel Essex, aka Mister Sisnister. Classic X Men villain. Wants to turn all humans and mutants into the ultimate beings through science. He’s obsessed with Jean and Scott, believeing their DNA can create the ultimate mutant. Don’t expect to see him, never came about. A version of him was supposed to be in Logan but he’s a more theatrical operatic character and Logan is supposed to be more grounded. He was also supposed to appear in New Mutants, and the Gambit movie that got cancelled.
They just should've used him instead of the next villains in Dark Phoenix. So bland and boring...
@@OsSas3 or just not do dark phoenix at all. The whole movie was boring!
This deleted scene turned into a whole film New Mutants...
@@jonmercano1138 I mean, this movie kinda hinted the Phoenix so I kinda see why they went that direction... but yeah, there are SO many X-Men stories to adapt and they chose to do Phoenix again... and equally bad.
@@OsSas3 It's because Simon Kinberg was angry that his original X3 script was so botched and wanted to try again more true to the OG story...
Only for Fox to screw him over AGAIN by making him shorten it into one short film instead of two long films, and then at the very end Disney also came in and fucked over the third act.
I absolutely loved this movie I’m glad you got around to watching it when you did
I always love when you react the movies. All of the energy and sometimes I’m waiting for the tears lol
this movie is so nostalgic to me cause i was 9 in 2016 and it was one of the first x men movies i ever saw.
I'm excited for all the marvel stuff that comes out but I'm also excited to see what other series you watch, always entertaining! Thanks!
I don't care what anyone says. I love 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. It's a really fun movie.
I think the script and director really hurt the movies. All the actors are great and the only reason why they’re enjoyable.
The ending scene with Jean is so good! Showed how powerful she really is. Love your reaction and your glasses look. ❤️❤️
It just stinks that they never get the Phoenix storyline right. And especially in this movie, where tf would've she gotten it before her own movie, since they went with that continuity.
Every time nat cries I just want to reach through the screen and give her a hug
Glad that you don't get socially influenced into an opinion and take each individual movie for what they are despite flaws in continuity and logic. I enjoyed this one though many did not... Anyway Logan is next on release schedule.
It would seem these movies only work well for people who were never fans of the X-Men before the movies.
Also, it wasn't Stan Lee who conceived of Days of Future Past, it was the team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne.
People that have never read comics think Stan Lee wrote everything, instead of just creating most of the characters and then turning them over to other people.
"I just remembered that this Wolverine wouldn't know who Jean and Scott are, cuz this was before he came back. When he woke up in he school after the end of Days of Future Past. Man, everything is so confusing. It really hard to, like, remember sometimes."
Welcome to the X-Men, where storyline continuity comes to be punished.
Apocalypse was the first Marvel character to be played by Oscar Isaac, later he would be Spider-Man 2099 in "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse", and very soon as Moon Knight in his own series on DisneyPlus.
Though it`s a great movie, I couldn't bring myself to re-watch Logan more than 2 times... It touch me in the feels too hard.
Cant wait to experience it again via your next reaction.
I think we all agree. Michael Fassbender and James McCavoy were perfect casting and they should play the same characters in the MCU
I haven't watched your X-MEN movie reactions because I don't know if I already watch all of X-MEN movies but I'm watching this one because I'm sure I already watched this one.
Take a bow Natalie for enjoying these films despite their faults, (especially continuity), there is good in them. Makes me excited for a polished reboot in the MCU that may flesh out the characters better, (hopefully less Eternals style.)
Also your editor is in top form as always.
If you can enjoy the little things from the X-MEN movies
Then you're gonna enjoy DARK PHOENIX
Thank you for saying that man, it's good to be positive whenever you can.
Really, I love that movie mostly because its about my fav character
I enjoyed it except for the way it ruins the ending of Days of Future Past
@@tuckercline5477 Pretend they’re different universes and it’s watchable.
Just don't focus much on the continuity, cause First Class was brilliant despite the continuity errors. And Dark Phoenix contradicts Jean using Phoenix powers here and whatnot.
It got mixed reviews, but turned a profit at the box office, $573 million dollars against a $178 million dollar.
I’ve watched this film so many times and never even thought to question why there was a dog at the X-Mansion.
so ready for logan! and after this, im also looking forward to your reaction to a specific scene in dark pheonix!
I love Evan Peters as Quicksilver
Ralph Bohner
Please watch "A Silent Voice" about a bullied deaf girl, can anybody vouch for this movie?
High recommend that film as well.
It broke me in less than 2 minutes at the start. There's no way anyone can walk out after watching that film and say they're fine, because that film rips you up... But a BEAUTIFUL anime film. Highly recommend
Do you want her to "ugly cry" permanently?
Stan Lee created a lot of Marvel characters, and was editor in chief for a long time, but he didn't personally write all that many of the iconic plot lines. "Days of Future Past" (which wasn't too much like the movie) was written in 1981 by Chris Claremont (who also created more mutant characters than Lee).
Originally the credits scene was supposed to lead to Mr. Sinister, but it does hint at the next film in the cycle.
