Ah, the Audi Q5. We like this compact luxury crossover so much it’s won multiple KBB Best Buy awards. Well, done, kid.
So, what’s new for this one. Well, I’m glad you asked.
First and foremost for this midcycle refresh…okay, sure, throw in the graphic.
The main change comes in the power department.
The Q5 gets more horsepower and a 12-volt mild-hybrid system in the base model with the standard 2.0L 4-cylinder 45 TFSI engine. Making it quicker and more efficient.
It gets 13 more horses to be exact (261 hp/273 lb-ft torque). That’s a nice little bump.
The higher-powered 55 TFSI comes as a PHEV, wow that’s a lot of four-letter acronyms, for a total of 362 horsepower. All Q5s get a 7-speed automatic transmission and Quattro four-wheel drive
While the driving dynamics haven’t changed, the extra horsepower feels great. It’s a great shot at tip-in and there’s extra juice when you need it to maneuver around.
The Q5 still rides really comfortably and provides the driver with excellent stability and balance.
I like the steering and the brakes on the Q5, they round out the driving package nicely.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a luxury SUV without a performance version and the SQ5 fills that space nicely with its 3.0L turbocharged V6 (349 hp/369 lb-ft torque).
For the other changes, the face gets a lift. The grille gets thinner and wider. The intakes (those are fake) are taller and trapezoidal. The taillights are now connected by a horizontal trim piece. Add in the diffuser and the effect is a wider more planted appearance. Who isn’t in for some stance?
The standard Q5 gets 18-inch wheels while the plug-in gets 19s. Want 20s? Either upgrade yourself or get the SQ5 for those.
I’ll always crow about the interior of the Q5. Audi’s less is more approach matches my personal style aesthetic perfectly. It’s neither flashy nor pretentious but still upscale and classic.
Even on the base model, which is the Premium trim level, you get lots of excellent standard features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate controls, a leather interior, and the 10.1-inch touchscreen. Not bad for the around 44-large you’ll pay for it.
Fork out more doubloons for the Premium Plus or Prestige and get more goods like Virtual cockpit plus and a panoramic sunroof as well as additional driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
The cabin is still super luxurious and comfortable. The Audi interior remains one of my perennial favorites. Plenty of room, and materials that remind you you’ve spent your money well.
Fuel economy numbers won’t decimate the rest of your bank account. (2.0L turbo I4- 23 city/28 hwy; 2.0L turbo I4/PHEV 65 MPGe; 3.0L turbo V6 18 city/24 hwy). That PHEV version gets 20 miles of pure electric range.
For our money, the sweet spot here is with the base engine model in the Premium Plus package. You get enough extras for right around $51,000.
The plug-in hybrid starts around $52,000 but is eligible for a federal tax credit. That performance SQ5 starts closer to $53,000.
Yes, we are still singing the Audi Q5’s praises. Will it win another Best Buy award? Guess you’ll have to check that out, subscribe to our RUclips channel while you’re at it.

I’m always blown away when adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist is optional when it’s standard on a corolla
And on a Versa!
Two different buyers with two different needs. German cars are never posed as bang for buck cars
@@Pabla98 doesn’t matter about needs
What matters is this is now such common tech is found in the cheapest of economy cars standard!
@tintuu what are you talking about? I test drove a 2020 corolla that had those tech that I mentioned....
@@dygardion9130 most of those systems on econo cars are not as advanced as the option systems in premium cars. I’ve owned both and while it may seem stupid that it’s standard on a Corolla and a 2k option on an Audi, once you compare both side by side you realize why it’s not standard.
That's the first time I've seen an Audi review come to USA before Europe 👍
Lynne is both very knowledgeable, detailed, and entertaining! She just may have talked me into buying one.
Audi did pretty damn good for the facelift. I'm not sure I'd pick this over something like the XC60 or GV70. Overall 8 prefer sedans but the Volvo and Genesis competitors are looking real sweet!
Great review!😸
Great review. Thank you
great video, nice colour too
Cool new design!
"Micah's little sensitive elbows ..." 🤣
Great functional SUV with understated elegance. Sure, it’s not the flashiest but it’s quite refined and nice with the facelift updates
Can't wait for the audi q4 e-tron
Audi is my love
what about reliability of Q5
Customers: we hate fake exhaust
Audi engineers: fake exhaust for all!!
Thanks
So the front grill doesn’t have fog lights
Audi continuing the trend of making its facelifted car looks worse than what came before it. Interior is still solid, but Genesis has caught up real quick. And comes with three rows and eye-turning looks
3:13 Aww Micah 😂
And his lil sensitive elbows lol
Almost missed that 😂
Also; Subscribed.. Can't believe I wasn't :(
PS: Love your channel!!!
Micah's little sensitive elbows.. LMAO!!!!!!
I literally died laughing at this line. Show them boys who’s boss, Lyn!
I wondered why the music selection was so cruddy.
Base sticker price it too expensive for me. Nice 👍 ride.
Could they somehow center the Audi ornament on that huge grill. It's a little thing that would drive my OCD nuts everytime I looked at it.
For some reason this updated version reminds me a lot of the last gen q3 from the side and not in a good way...
I have a suspicion a woman led this redesign. The car has lost any masculinity it had. The new grill looks like a Volvo and talking up a cup holder is cringe.
@@powerplay.556 masculinity is a social construct rooted in male fragility and insecurity.
@@robmonticchio7052 you look too old to be a millennial, but with your snowflake attitude it's apparent that you are and just had a tough life.
@@powerplay.556 tough lives make tough people like me. Never stop learning to be wiser and kinder. That’s maturity and a real measure of a person.
@@robmonticchio7052 you're getting a bit deep on me here big Bobby. Whatever makes you feel better, pal.
2.OL diesel engine with 200hp is best choice and it's volume seller in Europe.
I wonder what’s the 10 year cost of ownership?
“It’s an endless money pit” -Scotty Kilmer
Price paid x 1.5 is a good rule of thumb for anything german.
Another rule of thumb is to only lease the German cars if you have the disposable income.
more Lyn reviews
I’m here for the KBB giveaway 😁😂
What are they giving away?

Sells more than Acura RDX too!
Yawn :-0. So boring . The Genesis GV70 will blow this trash out of the water. Audi has looked the same for 10 years and played already .. Thanks Lyn ,great job as usual.
If wood trim is natrual color, it would be better look. Polish one seems so old school and bright.
They actually do come in natural, I have this car and mine is not polished like this, I also have a premium plus and mine does not have the drink warm/cooler and my gps does not look like that either, it’s more cartoon but not sure if I can change it, probably have to mess around with it tomorrow
Good vehicle for the misses.
They don't even look like air intakes, they are recessed road sensors , not fake air intakes 1:57
If I close my eyes it sounds as if Leslie knope is reviewing this Audi
that stuck on screen is horrendous. You can tell that it is obviously an afterthought that comes along with the refresh.
Why she didn’t metion Audi’s competitors in the video? Right now this is one of the most competitive segment in the market, but she likes Q5 so much that it sounded like this is the clear cut SUV to get, which isn’t true... #GLC #RDX #X3 #ICanGoOn....
did you just mention acura when talking about the 3 german brands 😂. sorry, acura is sub par faux lux
Still wonder why u Americans like it to get ripped off by acura it is a shit brand with outdated interior and trash awd system no wonder why it will never reach europe
Wow!!! My favourite brand Mazda is not that far from that interior designs.
Yes! And for 20k less.
Ehm..., Not the just prettiest of it's class or anything close, looking quite grumpy and sleepy on the exterior.
Soet me get this, new Q3 has more interior styling than new Q5? Come on Audi....
Everyone rags on Lexus for its big grill but no one says anything about Audi ?
All q5 are made in Mexico with a reliably of 3 out of 5
Volvo XC60 for me
We are bored of SUVs. Can we get a hatchback, coupes, even, a station wagon.
If wood trim is natural color, it would be more standard. Polish looks so outdated.
It should be noted that all Audi Q5’s are now made in Mexico.
And?
2021 Audi Q5 has a MAJOR design flaw and a SIGNFICANT SAFETY ISSUE that Audi is fully aware of, doesn’t have a fix yet, so haven’t issued a recall or informed exiting owners. What’s worse is that they are still selling the car without disclosing the problem to prospective owners.
Driving dynamically 🤣
There is no reason to get this over a cx-5
I like Lynn and I’m generally a fan of Audi, but c’mon, Chrysler has been making heated and cooled cup holders for years! It really annoys me when auto journalists praise and heap credit onto pretentious luxury brands for innovations that were brought to market by ‘less fancy’ American automakers. Like auto high beams . . . Lincoln had that back in the early 1980’s.
Eh, I'm taking the GV70 over this. It seems like a no brainer
@kyron2092 A Hyundai over a Audi? You do have no brain
Looks like someone just rolled out of bed on a Saturday morning and started filming.
Audi cars are like Apple products. You need to pay extra for what others give as standard.
Mark Laingold applicable to pretty much all German cars
Audi design language is looking a bit dated. I think the Genesis GV70 just might blow this out of the water.
Well said .. All the Audi cars looks same and Genesis has taken premium cars to a new level
@@shvkpr1 and yet they still look that old
So boring looking. It’s looked the same for like the past 15 years
except it looks worse now. it looked decent in like 2012 lol
Im from Russia. Happiness to everyone.💚🙏
Come on.. styling is boring and outdated.. its not 2014 lol, its for 2021, that car by now should have a radical look.
So, just when Lyn's getup couldn't get more weird, she out done herself. She's way past the homeless/toddler look. Not even sure what she's doing in front of a camera.
Jesus, woman...
Aside from that, her reviews and humor are as natural and engaging as a tax audit.
Micah, please, don't do this to us
Who shrunk the kids?
It's an absolute joke to try and assert that you can feel 13 more hp. That's insignificant when you are already dealing with a car that has around 250 hp.... this review is done by people reading a brochure.... just sad.
ughh more fake exhaust probably....your just really paying for the name at this point.
ah yes, because if a car doesn’t have real exhaust, you’re only paying for the name. nice logic mate
Not going to lie, I think audis SUVs are unbelievably overrated.
Hyundai Santa Fe is way better than this junk.
outdated interior
The front is uglier than before. Not sure what Audi and BMW are doing this year, ugly grilles everywhere
Anyone want to be my Boyfriend 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️
I feel like this reviewer tries too hard to act like Mike Muzio.
She really, but really needs to consult a stylist...
She's going to 50 and dresses like a toddler...
Her outfit is disgusting 🤢 gross.
