Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

It feels good to hear that she didn't have much of a negative experience as a Kumari . My older cousin had a classmate who used to be a Kumari and she used to tell us how she was forbidden from doing anything. Apparently she was abused and abandoned by her family after she got her periods and started living a normal life. She suffered from a lot of physical as well as mental illnesses such as depression, social anxiety and all. It's kinda reassuring that not every Kumari goes through the same process.

    Dear My Sunny,
I wanted to take a moment to express my admiration for your work as a a food lover,. As a fellow food lover, I have been following your videos for some time now, and I always look forward to seeing what new culinary adventures you embark upon.
Your recent video on the Nawari food culture in Nepal was particularly fascinating. I appreciate how you took the time to learn about the local traditions, such as the Kumari living goddess, and how it ties into the food culture. The sacrificial feast of a whole buffalo for the community was eye-opening, and your exploration of the local dishes, such as the tatamari and bara bara, left me salivating and eager to try them myself.
I also appreciated your respect for the local culture and your willingness to learn about the people and traditions of the region. Your enthusiasm for the food and the people you met was infectious and made for an enjoyable viewing experience.
Overall, I believe that your videos provide an excellent balance of entertainment and education, and I look forward to watching more of your adventures in the future. Keep up the excellent work, and I wish you all the best on your travels.

I agree being open is good. But being respectful? Nah i believe in tolerating. Respect is approving and i dont approve of worshipping creatures of God. But if people want to worship children? I will tolerate it and i will also advice them. Accepting the truth is a humans main road in finding their Creator, and their true purpose in life. Blindly following others or following the desire will take a human off course.
A great man once said: "some people are too open minded that their brains fall out" and im not that open minded. Following the truth will sometimes require the individual to sometimes say NO. In todays society everyone is afraid to say no

It's true that the kumari can't walk around but she is allowed to walk inside houses. She can even walk on the ground outside during times when they lay carpets for her. :) The kumari practice has been fluid in that it has allowed for changes to make the Kumari's life better. The girls are given good education and mentorship to transition into a good career after their reign. Their families are also looked after financially by the community. Former kumaris say that while they did feel sad when their reign ended and transitioning into normal life was hard initially, they also say reigning as Kumari was a really fun part of their life. Please look up interviews/podcasts of Chanira Bajracharya to get the realest insight as she is a former Kumari herself. She mentors the new kumari as well. I hope reading this gives you a better idea on this practice and it's evolution.
