Dr Barnstd is terrific! Everyone should listen to his advice that is so enthusiastic and joyful as life should be if we took his and vice and out it to practice … thank you SO much
I have a WORLD OF RESPECT for Dr. Barnard. He is always so diplomatic, modest and respectful, and does not get engaged in the "my diet is better than your diet" nonsense. His evidenced-based and "whole picture" approach is like a magnet, not a hammer. He is one of the great doctors of modern times.
I started with meatless Mondays and my husband loved it! Then we went to a couple days a week and then we decided to do it for 30 days that was three years ago.
What a Godsend to have a Dr. Neal Barnard speak out in a very intelligent and well-researched way about our nutrition and health. Thank you for the thoughtful interview with this humble man. Imagine that...someone in the medical world not driven by profit but by a desire to improve the condition of humanity.
S0 proud to be a Vegan Superhero watching our fearless leader interviewing such a GIANT in the Vegan world. Thank you Leif for dreaming big and making it happen!
I always love listening to Dr. Barnard. He is so full of kindness, compassion, wisdom, and passion for a better world and better health. His message always pushes me to do better 🌱🌿🫘☀️
I’ve been plant based for 5 months now and finally my weight is headed in the right direction and I feel amazing. I’m sleeping much better and my skin is glowing. Thank you PCRM!
As a woman in menopause 53 years old I can complete agree with the great Dr, I have been wfpb for 4 years, I was having so many symptoms of menopause , I too read that the Japanese especially didn't have a word for hot flashes, so I made sure that I included soy in my diet, tofu, enamame beans and soya milk. Just like that all my menopause symptoms disappeared 👏 not just the hot flashes. Thank you for this interview, was amazing, the hour flew by. Off to tell everyone 😂
Japanese women also get 13 mg of Iodine daily by eating dirty polluted seaweed. Take Iodoral 12.5 tabs & replenish your lost Iodine with out eating dirty seaweed or kelp. Women need Iodine 10 times more than men for breasts, uterus & ovaries. Only avail online, It helps reverse menopause symptoms!

I have subbed to your channel; if this is the kind of intelligence, inclusivity and information you bring, I want more!! Thank you.
This is the first time I've seen your channel! So cool! Thanks for doing this. I've been vegan since early 2014 at 15 years old and I always appreciated Dr. Barnard's approach. Thanks for this interview!! I learned some new things. Particularly about edamame / mature soy beans! I didnt know edamame was the baby soy beans!
Wow. I have a new found respect for this man's clarity of thought and drive. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts, Neal. You're very uplifting and inspiring.
I am grateful that we can all listen to Dr. Barnard's keen insights into diet and health thanks to the internet. His work was very helpful in my going plant based and feeling better within weeks. It's also great to see a doctor who has a wider view and shows concern to the large negative environmental impacts of huge cattle feedlots and factory pig/chicken farms. Hats off to Dr. Barnard, and thank you for posting this!
Isn’t it wonderfull ? - “you can revolutionize it” - this is such a fine, informative conversation, filled with the possibility of changing personal, cultural, business and medical practices - 🙏🎶🍀🎵💚🐸
He's one of those doctors that comes to where you are at and gently guides you to better decissions. Some are a bit more nazi like and hard for me to listen too. I like how he does his own small studies of things that are going on for people.
I did it I cured my hot flashes in a month, and I was a healthy vegan already, but still eating too much fat, and still being a little bit overweight, although quite thin for many people who look at my silhouette!
I know, I am also born without thyroid developed. Then at 50, 2019 cancer in uterus, full hysterectomy, surgical menopause is rough, even harder when soy isn't best for thyroid, and can't have hormone replacement.
Yes, I agree with you. I was surprised by that 5% figure that Dr. Barnard mentioned. I think the takeaway here is that you should avoid oils and you don't need to go out of your way to get "healthy fats" in your diet. My average dietary fat intake is around 20% and I feel great! 😄🌱
My daughter was having a health issue related to digestion, so I took her to our family doctor. When he found out that she was a vegetarian ( almost vegan) he rimmed me out on how did I allow my 14 years old daughter not to eat meat and told her to “stop with this phase of not eating meat so typical in teenagers d/t social media”. What?!?! In Canada, if you have a family doctor you are very lucky even if it is a lousy one.
I need help with my brain. I had a benign meningioma on my right and had it removed but now have Headache and pressures and left. MRI so far are clear of reoccurrence but the neurological symptoms through out my body are intense and no answer from neurologistssss. I’m eating turmeric spice and black pepper with nuts, seeds and avocado. I haven’t used deodorant in 30yrs. I do have metal pots and aluminum pans. Thanks mentioning that. Any contact info for this doctor or any other doctor of nutrition and natural foods that can help me heal because traditional medicine it's taking the slash and burn method. But since this is my brain I have to be careful, no too many trys. I Just wanted to have the right tools to solve this mysterious Health affliction.
Well said. I agree with you that Dr. Barnard transcends the term doctor. He comes across as very grounded and concerned about the health and well-being of everyone, as well as the natural world.
Hearing about Dr Barnard's musical talents brought an entirely new dimension as to why I have been such a huge fan of his and always admired him so much. What an amazing human he is! If only all those men who think it's "being a man" to murder and kill other creatures just for the joy of killing them, could be a true Divine Masculine male like Dr Barnard.
Curious about what Dr. Barnard thinks about this newer study finding no link between Omega 3 and prostate cancer. Also, why does he so often make fun of folk music? As a musician himself, surely he must understand that this is a broad category of music with some very accomplished musicians in it. Some even with degrees from the Berklee School of Music. As a musician in that tradition I find it a bit offensive to perpetrate a stereotype that is so dismissive of a beautiful tradition of music that by the way has a wonderful and intelligent fan base. Many of these people might be open to a message of healthy plant based eating. But maybe not if they hear you making fun of them. I personally am not a fan of certain electrified and processed music that has a lot of superfluous ornamentation going on or what I consider to be simply too much self indulgent soloing that doesn’t really lead anywhere. But I wouldn’t make fun of those who enjoy that music and experience it differently.
Women have to strength train! Sarcopenia and osteoporosis, men and women, what is the doctors opinion on this ? It really is so important, yet the doctor is only running…
Although Dr. Barnard runs himself, it doesn't mean he is against strength training! We absolutely agree with you on the importance of strength training. 🏋️♀️

And test their blood levels and do scans to prove it is a personal and very individual thing.
For some it's bad because they don't understand that you have to eat more in veganism, not less. Most people who start this lifestyle do not know how to feed themselves. So did I. In the first stage, I ate insufficiently and felt physically ill. It lasted about 2 months. After properly informing myself, I started veganism again at the age of 41. I felt physically better than when I was 20 years old when I was a professional footballer.Veganism does not mean tons of salad as many think.

Keto diet by dr. Bergs or Vegan diet by dr. Barnard? Im confuse which one is better when suffering in pcos and hormonal imbalance
29:02 is 5% of fats reasonable to obtain? In a 2000kcal diet is just 10grams a day! Even in a no oil meal prep it seems really hard to maintain
Yes, I agree with you. I was surprised by that 5% figure that Dr. Barnard mentioned. I think the takeaway here is that you should avoid oils and you don't need to go out of your way to get "healthy fats" in your diet. My average dietary fat intake is around 20% and I feel great! 😄🌱

10 grams is half of a medium avacado
