Congrats!!! I really hope to be like you one day! I am also a vegan (a VERY long vegetarian; recent vegan); I am fairly young but I have suffered from very serious congenital diseases throughout my life and very severely since my early 20s. Stories like yours give me hope - there is not a day that goes by that I don't get TERRIFIED at the prospect of having to go through this physical hell AGAIN when I am older - so if I can beat these illnesses into remission while I am "youngish," I suppose there is always the hope of having a happy and healthy life as an older person! I need to remember that age doesn't necessarily equate with illness, dementia, and frailty! Thank you again and I wish you the best of luck!

I figure, hey I wasn't taking anything all this time I may as well just change my diet!!! It's not easy. I wasn't raised up on good dieting. My mother didn't force vegetables on me and my siblings. I have a crave for chocolote and I love rice. Now that I am older I have to force myself to eat it. I look at people who eat vegetables so easy, those who enjoy it and bothers that I don't feel the same.

Don't give up...you CAN eat better. I was 205 lbs at 5'6 and on the day the Dr. told me my triglycerides were 1000 and cholesterol unreadable and I MUST pick up meds on the way home, I made the decision to try the Dean Ornish diet. My numbers were perfect in 4 weeks. I eliminated high fructose corn syrup FIRST, then ate less and less fast food, then changed to salads at the fast food restaurants, then began reading books by Bernard Jensen and buying a new vegetable every week..now eating all non-GMO, no hormones, and at least 10 servings of veggies a day, on a budget. It takes determination and planning. Learn ALL about all you can, and KNOW that people are curing 50 diseases including cancer with vegetables every day. Please watch, 'The Beautiful Truth', and look up Max Gerson! This great man helped begin a new life for many!!

It could be a histamine allergy too, they sometimes go together. Be mindful what you eat, no canned food, only fresh (you can cheat once in a long while, a month or two). By fresh I mean raw meat, fish, vegetables, etc... these should be the ingredients that you cook.

I decided to attempt being a vegan two months ago after being trapped in a cabin with my processed food carnivore friends for a week. I endured the week of snoring, eating for no reason, watching them get fatter and decided this was gross, I won't eat meat for the next week... then I just happened to consider it further. Every time I was eating something with meat or dairy I was not really appreciating the cost of that meal.... something had to die or suffer and i did not feel as if I appreciated it enough to justify that event! I told myself I can do it for a month and I did it and now continue... The more I research the more stupid I realize I was and the "average" person is. We have been misled and lied to, I have gotten tired of being one of the "human cattle people". Listening to such an intelligent explanation makes me realize how dumb I have been!

They are also known to age slower/ look younger because of all the nutrients they are consuming. Sure you can smoke and there is a chance you can live long, but chances are you will look much older than your actual age, whereas Neal actually looks younger than his age because of his healthy diet.

Vegan pizza is a thing, and they sell some really good ones at least here in Finland. Once I stopped eating dairy cheese, I stopped craving it soon after. Same with smoking cigarettes; both of them taste awful now. Dairy cheese doesn't taste like human food anymore, which it never was in the first place (cow's milk is designed for calves only, just as human milk is for humans only).

Raw grass grazed dairy may be healthful, but not to giving people needed calcium. Our bodues' calcium is generally fine as long as our diets as a whole encourage balanced health. What raw grass grazed dairy helps some with, is growth, deep healing, healthy type of detox, immunity balance etc. And raw grass grazed dairy is never encouraged by anyone in high places in American nor Australian law nor government, as people with knowledge of good from evil, as Jesus in the Bible who ate ruminant butter, honey of bees & cheese curds as a child to decipher good from bad, are not the type of people they can control to amass more power & billions of dollars.

Felt “good” due to -60lb weight loss .. but the biggest “wow” was giving up dairy .. 2 weeks after giving it up I finally felt 40 again (I’m 63). Its stored in the Mitochondria and that is very dangerous. As anger issues are the least of your problems. Stress hormones are linked from depression and paranoia to mental diseases. We know the animals going to their death are scared and screaming, gassed or electrocuted.

After watching "Forks Over Knives" in March of 2012, I went 100% dairy free. I'd had horrible seasonal allergies since my early teen years in the mid 1970's. Also, in the previous 5 or so years, I had started developing a red, peeling, blotchy area on my forehead and cheeks. Within a few weeks the blotchy areas completely disappeared, and my elbows and knees went back to normal, soft skin, and by May, it was "allergy season" again. I had almost no allergic response to what traditionally would have been 4-6 weeks of living on allergy meds. I remain dairy free, and am still enjoying the benefits. Additionally, I helped cure an athlete on my daughter's high school cross-country team, by suggesting that her asthma might be caused by her dairy consumption. She used an inhaler before and after her races. She went 100% dairy free and never used her inhaler again!

I think that except for casein, kefir yogurt doesn't seem so bad, and consumed in moderation, dairy doesn't look bad.

The source of heme iron is meat and fish. Cheese may contribute to dementia, but it's not the primary culprit.

Problem was I couldn't stand the taste of milk anymore after not touching it for 2 years, so I don't drink any of it anymore. I'm pretty sure my chronic adult acne struggles were caused by the milk and whatever hormones and antibiotics the milk cows had been given because I had terrible acne whenever I drank it, and it cleared up considerably when I stopped.

When I was 48 I had a full body skeleton scan to check my bones. I Don't eat dairy, haven't most of my life so I was concerned about the health of my bones. The doctor told me that I had the skeleton of a 30 year old woman ! She said that she wasn't supposed to tell me but anything for a cow was not healthy. She said that the profession would bear down on her of they thought that she was saying this.

What an intelligent man. Man where the heck have I been? So glad I'm now on a plant based diet/lifestyle! Cheese literally grosses me out now.

Everytime i feel like i wanted to eat some meat or dairy products, i usually come and watch one episide of these amazing guys' presentations, that's how I generally stay on plant based diet.. quitting is easy, keep it real to myself is the hardest thing....

I'll bookmark this for another time, but I've got to say that I'm still addicted to pizza despite having ordered it without the cheese from fast-food restaurants for months. It's all about that fresh crust!

Ryan Peters I make the crust at home...my dad, who has never liked pizza and would eat one slice, has 3 slices when I make it at home. Let me know if you would like the recipe
