I need your advice! I skate goofy and skate a lot of mini ramps and can front disaster and air out of ramps like you suggested. But I surf regular and have around 2 years experience, but can pretty much only cutback, snap, and floater. I have tried switching but the commitment to a goofy pop up while ive been doing it regs for so long doesnt feel right. Do you think I should switch surfing stances or just get good at skating switch because I want to eventually do airs, and ollieing switch while on a wave is tough.
Let's goooo best tutorial on airs that I've ever seen I'm getting pretty close on some but I think that this tutorial is going to change the way I approach my airs and help me land some🤙🤙

Noah you nailed it man! You re back again with an other incredible video, give so much details and explainations which it so helpful and cannot be found everywhere else! Thank you so much for that!
Thanks Josh! Everyone learning airs starts off by leaning back too far, I think it’s just a commitment thing. Once you stomp one or don’t get hurt when you commit, a light bulb 💡 goes off and you’ll start committing to all of them! 🤙🏽
Awesome video here finally some quality tutorial on airs thanks a lot 🙏🙏🇫🇷 It’s been a month now that I’m finally landing some straight airs and I’m sure your advices will help me even more! Yeww thanks Nicolas!! Stoked to hear you’re landing some airs, that’s awesome. I used to have the same problem for years going for air revs, I’ll make a video on it. But in the meantime, put your back arm behind you as you bottom turn then swing it round and look over shoulder as you start to get in the air… that helped me so much with my rotation 🤙🏽 full video soon though!!

Hey man! Yeah mine freezes after a take a long video or randomly (probably every 2nd session) so I have to restart it holding both buttons down. But then whatever video it just took or froze on is ruined, can’t be accessed. The only advice I could give is don’t take videos for too long but kinda defeats the purpose of the camera unfortunately. Hopefully GoPro fix it with the Hero 10 because I heard the 9 still has bugs too

Thanks bro I’ll give it shot. Can we please have a Tutorial on the Smoothstar straight air because that’s what helps me the most with my surfing. Great vid 🤙🤙

Thanks for guiding me and many others through the right process. Amazing 🤩 vid!!

Great vid Thankyou! So the pop off the lip comes from going from coiled up to leg extension? Am I pushing down on the tail and popping it like an Ollie?
Hey Sean, sorry for the late response! Thank you for the kind words, stoked it helped. And yep just like an Ollie - there should be the lip that you’re pushing your back foot off to boost out of
Gotta stay centred! Keep your chest over your front knee. A good way to do this, is to FS grab or pretend grab your toeside rail. Keeps you centred and over your board
Really really great content Noah! Finally some wonderful surfing tutorials by someone who can surf super well and with style!!! Keep it up! If it was possible I would subscribe twice ;)
Thanks for doing this! Was hoping you would at one point. Airs are definitely something I'm working on at this point and this is definitely gonna help me out! I realized when you said you need to get low on your bottom turn and project UP and out that I hadn't been doing either of those things so now that I know what specifically to work on I'm prolly gonna get a lot closer to stickin one. Cheers from Cali!

Great video thank you!! I saw your urbnsurf vid and you were doing airs off the barrel setting and also just some sections on adv turns- which of those do you think is easier to learn airs? Or is it easier in the ocean? Cheers!
Thank you brother, my pleasure! Definitely easier in the ocean however being able to practice in the pool is sick. Expert setting is definitely the go. Wave 6 (the last) is the perfect ramp. Just practice them off the back at first. Remember: stay high if you wanna fly 🦅
Hey mate! It’s all about your entry into the air, usually people start laying back right as they’re about to go off the lip. So stay confident and practice leaning more forward right before you project off the lip
A few years ago I've been lucky enough to be taught by a couple legendary surfers to do airs such as Filipe for full rotations and air reverses and Jordy for regular straight airs yet this tutorial is still probably better than those 2 pros.😂 I think there's 2 things to get into to make this tutorial better and that is grabs and something else I'll say now now. On your forehand when u throw your back arm into the air it's good to try grab your rail. Either hand is fine, I'm natural footed but have a habit of grabbing with my left hand on straight airs which helps angle my nose outwards towards the beach and then grabbing with my right hand on any rotational airs just cos it helps me keep my board to my feet most of the time. But grabbing will help get your knees up to your chest. Then the other tip is while your doing the shallow bottom turn for the air u can try eying above the lip. Kinda like a few inches above. Idk why but that helped me so much!!
Thanks so much for the message mate, I really appreciate it!! And also thank you for sharing those other two tips, I think they will be super helpful to others learning to do airs 🙌🏽
Thanks for the vid. Very helpful. Tried to do an air the other day on a big close out and got air but then my boards nose swung around mid air and almost clapped me in the face. 😂. Definitely will remember to slide my foot foward🤙🏼
My pleasure! So stoked you found it helpful 🙌🏽 Far out that sounds dangerous 😂 yep definitely practice that. Widening your stance before the air will help with that too 🙌🏽
Yeah 100% man. You’re basically doing the same technique as an ollie but adding a slight rotation to get the nose of your board pointing towards the beach 🤙🏽
I'm finally going to upgrade my board from a 6'6 $20 js industry gumtree board with cracks and stuff but I don't know what to get and also know nothing about surf brands or surfboards. I'm trying to find an alright used board for under $350-$400 but I don't know what to look for or even what size. If anyone knows what I should look floor please give us a reply. I'm 6ft and 67kg. btw this is the best and clearest air tutorial I've ever seen. Cheers to anyone who replies.
@@lstbz4309 okay bro, so at my level I’m riding 24-25.5L boards (more around the 25L mark) and I’m the exact same weight as you (but 5’9) so I’d go for a board with a bit more literage than me like 26-28L. If you’re pretty good go lower litres, if you don’t catch heaps of waves go for 28L (more waves = more experience and foam is your friend!) and 6’6 in my opinion is way too long! I ride 5’7 and 5’6 so I’d go for 6’0 to 6’1 (every inch is a big difference) so quick recap. Go 6’0 or 6’1 and 26-28L if you are confident in your ability go on the small side of this scale but if you’re learning a fair bit still, the extra volume will help you out so much! Most people make a big mistake in riding boards that are too small so I’d personally recommend going bigger 🤙🏽 hope this helps mate, thanks for watching my videos!

First off, thank you so much! Secondly, what level are you at with your surfing?
@@SurfingWithNoz experienced
So when you're turning to point your nose to the beach, is that using your full body? Or start the turn with your back or front foot?
Turn your head/upper body and everything follows 🤙🏽
@@SurfingWithNoz awesome, I'll try it.
"don't knee yourself in the face" ... Thats a good tip :) :) :)
Hahaha probably the most important one 😂
Great video! What kind of skateboard are you riding in the simulation? I've been trying to hunt down the right one for hitting ramps at the skatepark.
Thank you legend!! It’s a smoothstar. Best surfskates in the business 🔥
is a stretch mr. buzz a good board 4 this?
Never heard of it until now. Just looked it up, says it’s great for “big airs” so yes!
Pretty cool man.
Thank you 🙌🏽
