Thank you, Hector. I brought my back up from 10GB to 3GB by purging my time-lapse videos.

Would love to see your vision of a side view of a butterfly sitting on a cats nose.

Oh geez. This is brilliant. I've been saving Procreate files by going into Gallery, choosing the files, then choosing Export, then choosing the Files option, and finally exporting them to my SSD drive. Your method is so much simpler. Thank you!

Hi Hector, thanks for this tutorial. will be using it shortly for sure. Question: in the drag and drop method, do only procreate files get copied over? How can we back up other file formats with the drag and drop? Thanks Hector!

Hi! Yes you can choose any file format you want… I’m in the works of making a video on this… so stay tuned. It’ll be up next Friday at the latest!

I can’t seem to locate the automatically saved procreate files. I exported them to a folder in iCloud.
Not a problem. But have I done that unnecessarily?

I'm not sure if this is it but... I've saved files to iCloud and there are times it can take awhile to see it in the finder window.
      I hope this is helpful.

Great video! I saved all my ProCreate files to an external hard drive. I also exported my best work as PSD files (just in case). Here’s my issue though… my ipad is full up. It is saying ProCreate is using 20GB for data and documents. I deleted all my downloads, all the files I didn’t need, extra layers in ones I want to keep, and finally all my time lapse - some of which were huge. Took me two days! But … it still says 20GB of data! Any idea why? So glad I found your channel looking for this. :-) Looking forward to watching more of your vids.

Hi Erica, I'm glad you found the channel too! It's hard to know exactly why your file size didn't decrease after the gallery was cleaned up, but... It's appears it's a known problem.
There's a January 2023 post in the Procreate site in which the moderator believed it was a glitch in iOS. One idea was to restart the iPad then check the file size. Another contributor had a more aggressive idea... and that was to back up everything in the procreate file format and delete the app. Then reinstall the app and import the procreate files.
Other contributors to large file sizes were the size of the canvas and too many brushes.
But I think in your situation you deleted a lot of files and layers... and saw no reduction in file size. I hope this helps or at least points you to the right direction. Thank you so much for your kind words and I hope you enjoy the forthcoming videos. h

@@thedoodleworks That is so helpful! Thank you so much! I will look into it. I may take it into an Apple Store. Even though I backed up my files, I am so nervous to delete the app and reinstall. But I may have no choice. I’m not sure it is related just to ProCreate though because I also deleted DropBox and TikTok and those were supposedly taking up 30G and no reduction. So perhaps it’s just the iOS itself. Thanks again! I appreciate it!
