This is super helpful. I’d started saving some old canvases to my google drive, but didn’t know I could save brushes and pallets 😲🤯I’m running out of space and I also don’t want to lose my completed work, so this is great 😄
Can I ask how much storage is yr iPad & how long has it taken for you to fill it? I have 128gb & I’ve just started with my iPad & Procreate & I’m not sure if I’ll need external storage or just keep everything backed up instead.
@@cheryl5994 I have a 1st gen iPad Pro, 128 GB. I’ve had it since 2016 and to be honest, photos/videos/ art, take up very little space. It’s actually mostly cluttered by a MASSIVE amount of unused gaming apps I downloaded over the years 😅 and only towards the end of last year did I actually need to clear some space. I don’t know how much you draw in procreate, but In my experience So as long as you don’t bog it down with a myriad of apps, you’ll probably have plenty of storage for the next 7 yrs. Without actually having to use external storage 🤔
Joel, you're a living legend! Thanks for this. So clear, so helpful and so appreciated! It's the fact you repeat each and every step, even when identical to before, so we don't miss a beat! "And with all that said.... " thanks very much ;)
You can and you do it the exact same way, just plug in your external hard drive or ssd and it will show in files on the left, so just choose that instead of icloud like i did :)
This is a golden one Mr. Joel, so important and backed up as was watching your video, thanks so much, and will share it on my Social Media as well so others can follow and do the same, much appreciated by all of us to you!!!!!!
Thank you that is so useful. My iPad is less than a year old and I’m running out of storage (in all the years I have had iPads that’s never happened). It might be that I have to get one with a bigger storage and I was worried about losing my Procreate files.
Hey Sylvia, Can I ask what storage you have? Also, do you do a lot with Procreate & is that where yr storage issue comes from ? I have 128gb & I’m new to iPad & Procreate. A total newbie with learning to draw & digitise my Lettering but I’m nervous about how long my storage will last. Any tips & tricks would be super helpful. ✌️🙂
Saving each palette or brush one by one makes procreate seem so ancient.
Now this was a helpful tutorial - thanx!
You’re very welcome ☺️
Thank you! Helpful and clear explanation to backup everything. You are awesome❤!!!
Happy to help and thank you 😊 🥰

Thank you! I just lost about 8 years of files. It’s a sure thing I will be diligent about backing up from now on!
Glad I could help, and sorry to hear of that awfully frustrating lose of files :(
