That's because India had to become mostly vegetarian for survival. So they spent a lot of time coming up with some affordable and amazing vegetarian dishes. In most Western countries vegetarian meals are mostly created to lose weight. So our vegetarian foods tend to be more bland because they're low on sugar, salts, and calories.
Sulfen You couldn't be more wrong you imbecile. Vegetarianism is popular because of Hinduism/Buddhism in India. You're absolutely clueless, ignorant fool!
1000 rs a day in india is more then enough to have a standard quality food... many people survive whole month in just 6000 rs so imagine the importance of 1000 rs a day...
TravelerPat in malls and places as such like McDs or Subway u can get a mcd meal for under 250 rs or a 6 inch long sub in 250 rs...now if u go in air conditioned restaurant then u can always have punjabi or gujarati thali(remember this words) in 250 rs or so...basically thali is an indian version of a combo meal in which u get 3-4 chappatis(indian bread), 2 kinds of vegetable, dal, rice, onion as salad and papad(crispy thing just as a side eating thing) and buttermilk... it depends on what indian food u eat as mainly there are 3 known food in all over india...i.e south indian food, north indian food and if u want a tasty veg meal like u never had before then a gujarati meal...
Ivan Innokenti i doubt that...more than 70 % of population in india lives in small towns and villages...and due to cheap child labour the minimum wage can be 3000 per month also but considering the average, accounting the urban and rural population...6000 it is... we own a timber business in which there are like 40 staff members with varying salary...and the highest we pay is 9000 rs to only 5 of them...rest 35 comes under the 6k and 3k wage...:)

The real challenge for you, would have been at the end of your day or early morning next day 😉 Awesome snacks. Even I being in India, have not tried all those options! You missed 'Samosa Channa'!
I'm indian-american and wanted to give you guys some pro tips if you travel to India. I'd recommend you take your time to come for a full week or two (you just saw how cheap that can actually be) so you're immune system adjusts to the new and higher amount of bacteria. Boil the water you plan to drink and bottle it or you'll get sick, even if you order water at high end restaurants. After about a week you can begin to eat street food as opposed to restaurants and be a little less cautious about the water. Even my family members that didn't leave India till they were 30 have to do this when they visit otherwise they get sick for their entire visit.

So many different kind of street food. I can only recognize the lassi. I saw a video about a southern India state with incredible coastline and environment. That one is definitely on my list. Hope they have more meat food and less spice tho.
The one you are taking about is probably Kerala. Its famous for seafood. Meat is more expensive so you don't see small roadside vendors sell them. However if you go to any Hotel or Restaurant, You can order Meat dishes like Chicken or Mutton. (Pork and Beef aren't sold in India).
Not only in Kerala. But in Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, NE India. Personal experience as well as I am from Kolkata living in BLR and Delhi so can vouch safely that Beef is sold in many parts of the country and its tasty too.

Awesome video man. Haha! It is really hard to spend 20 dollars in India, just on street food. Saw The Food Ranger's comment below. I feel a collaboration coming up. :D
All people talking about hygeine, its a streetfood and sellers are poor why? uneducated... You can get same thing for above that price in a nice hotel with way proper hygeine but guess what then you have to pay more, it wont be dirt cheap and i can tell you nowhere else you can find that cheap currently i am in toronto.
People in India are so hospitable! They have those deserts and tea for free! And it's my first time to see BEES swarming around sweets! My first thought was hoards of flies lol and the food is so diverse and looks delicious. I'd like to travel to India when I have money.
to everyone saying they should wear gloves and not touch the food, I agree. However, Indians have a strong stomach and are used to this way of living. A Person touching their food wont kill them
Yeah, when he showed that food being made with bare hands on the street I thought that that was a recipe for food poisoning. He probably has a cast-iron stomach from eating all the street food lol.
Hamza Khan excuse me..what..??? No pal we dont ..you better clean up your head cause i think thats the place where all the shit is..so disrespectful it is so say something like this about any country.
Ha! I stayed at the same hostel last year (Joey's). India was intense and unique! One day I'll return, buy a motorbike and do some trecking in the jungle
boom bob People around the world have different customs. Like in Italy if your fat you are considered rich. Or if you were to burp after finishing a meal in Greece is like saying thank you to the chef. Not everyone has the same customs, or they don't think to much about hygiene. I wouldn't mind, if you don't like it just say please just point at it.
whats wrong with it man, u sld know that 90% Indians eat with hands, we hav custom that we wash hands clean before and after eating. this ways hands will be cleaned min. 6 to 8 times a day which is more hygeinic than westerners i guess. u can get to know how hot food is so that u will not burn ur tongue. i want to ask one thing, do u eat pizza, donut or a burger with spoon?
sourcheesepringles don't eat street food. eat from proper established restaurants. i am an Indian. you will get stomach problems and then you will blame our country.even indians are careful while eating street food.
Thanks for one million views :)

"I can honestly become a Vegetarian If I moved to India" this statement is so true coz white people's vegetarian food is bland & expensive !!
Indian veg food is extremely unhealthy despite being veg. It is very oily. No wonder ischaemic heart disease is a major thing in India.

Awesome Video - Made me Hungry - I need that India Street Food !!
Was anyone bothered when the hostel guys were touching all sweets while talking, i mean you could have just pointed at them.
to everyone saying they should wear gloves and not touch the food, I agree. However, Indians have a strong stomach and are used to this way of living. A Person touching their food wont kill them
Didn't kill me either
exactly, people are acting like they gunna die if someone touches their food 😂
Did you have a massive diarrhea the next day? I have heard loads of scary stories about India's street food.

No we don't have any diarrhoea next day. We Indians are used to it.
For you , You should try it first then comment.

India unhygienic af
boom bob People around the world have different customs. Like in Italy if your fat you are considered rich. Or if you were to burp after finishing a meal in Greece is like saying thank you to the chef. Not everyone has the same customs, or they don't think to much about hygiene. I wouldn't mind, if you don't like it just say please just point at it.
boom bob I was thinking the same. he could have pointed em
whats wrong with it man, u sld know that 90% Indians eat with hands, we hav custom that we wash hands clean before and after eating. this ways hands will be cleaned min. 6 to 8 times a day which is more hygeinic than westerners i guess. u can get to know how hot food is so that u will not burn ur tongue.
i want to ask one thing, do u eat pizza, donut or a burger with spoon?
people say Indian food hygiene is pretty bad. but I say fuck it. if I die eating Indian food, I die happy. this is coming from a Chinese.
What type of vaccines should I get before I visit India? I also plan to eat streetfood.
sourcheesepringles don't eat street food. eat from proper established restaurants. i am an Indian. you will get stomach problems and then you will blame our country.even indians are careful while eating street food.
DONT DRINK THEIR FUCKING WATER I LEARNED THE HARD WAY
sourcheesepringles avoid all raw food- salads, chutneys that could have unboiled water.
