- I look at different chicken waterer methods. I compare pros and cons of using vertical and horizontal nipples, and manual and autofill cups. I suggest a unique chicken watering solution.
Drill bit size I use: 5/16", but you can also use 11/32" or 8.5 mm.

One major problem I came across with the watering cups that refill is that if you don’t place it high enough at pecking level, meaning you just set the bucket on the ground, the chickens will put their foot on the cups, and they will pop the spring out. This is a defect in manufacturing That needs to be corrected to prevent this problem. I went through all of mine, because the chickens kept putting their feet on it and supporting their weight while they drank.
Well, in my opinion you MUST put it up high, because the autofill cups get dirty even when it's elevated. I put my waterer on a cinder block, and I've never had a problem with them putting their foot on the cups.
Great video thank you for the info:-) Luke 21:36 KJV❤
