I live in WI. and I understand the cold winters. I am using a heated dog bowl and a bowl with a heater. These work great but I need something that will hold more water. I appreciate you posting this, I think I am going to take your advice and purchase the last one you like. Thank you!

I use a 32-gallon trash can with horizontal nipples, set out of the weather, mainly wind and sun. Good into the teens and single digits, at which time I hang a tank heater in it. works a charm. last about three weeks or so with 50 birds

Have you tried our Farmer Brad Automatic Chicken Waterer? We do offer a heated one with built in heater that during warm months can be hooked up to a garden hose and refills automatically.

I to live in MN. I use the galvanized. I use a big one in the summer and a smaller one on top of the heater in winter in the coop.

I’m still looking for an awesome waterer, that works for me and my chickens. I tried the premier one with the nipples but my chickens just never caught on to using it enough to satisfy their thirst. So unfortunate, I really! wanted! it to work because its a high quality heated system, and clean and I thought was a great solution for my flock. However, I became concerned about the chickens actually getting enough water. They seemed to have to work so hard for it. During the trial days of getting them used to the nipples, and with this being their only water source, per recommended, I brought in a bowl of water and I never saw them all so thirsty! So even though they knew it was a source of water, (me watching them drink from it) it just never was enough for them. Any way good review, thanks.

Greetings. I am still new to chickens with 9 birds, and i have not yet figured out how i am going to run power for water heaters. Do you use solar?

The one at 4 minutes always leaks all the water out even at 99% level...

I use the galvanized and they clean great when you don’t wait until it’s so crusty 😮 All of the waterers are filthy, how do they look when you aren’t showing them on video?

It looks like her water is full of minerals, my guess is she has well water with a ton of iron in it, so that will make the inside of the waterers look gross. Also, having a farm full of animals is a lot more work than having 10 chickens in a backyard coop, and takes a lot of time in care, and she probably doesn’t have time to scrub every waterer down to sterility every few days, but instead gives them a good clean once a month. Also, no matter how clean you put something away, in a barn setting, it’s going to end up dirty quickly.

Have you ever thought of creating your own water collection system so you never have to refill?
