...and to think that during this landing burn that it's just one of the nine Merlin 1D engines that it uses to lift off really demonstrates just how powerful these rocket engines are. Great video capture!
@@johnlucier5654The Falcon 9 first stage uses cold gas thrusters, thrust vectoring, and engine gimbaling during a reentry. Above Earths atmosphere (where there is no air) the first stage uses cold gas thrusters that send out bursts to steer it along with thrust vectoring during the reentry burn that uses three of the Merlin 1D engines (engines #1,#9,#5) to slow the stage enough that it doesn't burn up while slamming into Earths atmosphere. When it gets low enough that the Earths atmosphere can be used to deploy the grid fins, the grid fins deploy when the atmosphere gets thick enough to swivel them out. They act like the feathers on the back of an arrow to keep more drag on the top of the first stage keeping it headed engines first toward earth. The grid fins are computer controlled and very effective at steering the stage back to the landing zone. They work great until it decelerates below the aerodynamic threshold that renders them useless at low speed where the cold gas thrusters are again used along with engine gimbaling and thrust vectoring to keep the stage vertical until landing and even sometimes a few seconds after if the winds are high or the drone ship is rocking in the ocean. Only the single center engine (engine #9) fires for the landing burn since it's the only one in the center for a balanced thrust.

You mean the CGI guy
@@popeantichrist8847 Hush smooth brain, we were there.
Nope. Its fake !!!
@@Everything817"Erm, acktchually it was implemented in CGI and the government is lying to you because they like to!! ☝️🤓" I swear these people are a different species 😂
You guys in the comment section here can make calm judgments! That's great 👍
Impressive, and 3 sonic booms. I'd love to see that in person one day.
I’ll never get tired of hearing that sound of that rocket landing
No dust or anything. Super incredible
LMFAO. Exactly...
i knew there had to be someone here who figured it out
It’s behind a forest you couldn’t see any dust being kicked up.. so what are you implying? That we can’t believe our own eyes?
@@davidjessee7701 oh, were you there?
The hologram glitch’s over the power lines. So fake.
C'est un truc de fou a quelle point on vit dans une epoque incroyable , j'imagine meme pas dans 50 ans 😮

Beautiful! I lived on the Space Coast for over 40 yrs. Now, that I've moved away, this is what I miss the most.
I feel that way about earthquakes in California. There is no bigger rush.

The first space shuttle launch was awesome.
I'll never forget it.

F****n fantastic! Really excellent!
Looks like something outta a movie!❤
That’s pretty badass
IS IT HAPPEND ? IS NOT A FAKE ?
@@piotr5338it is real, this is falcon 9 first stage
Love it wish I was born 10 years ago just like that kid so I would be able to see the next 30 years.
Aww i pray you live mamy many years. So many years youll wonder how you lived so long!
Eh, aside from this, things are pretty terrible.
I dunno man. Feel like we lived in a better time
@@Maul1111yeah for sure
Soo funny.. in 30 years you will see how human kind is slave of the multinationals society. Half of america will be without food and breathble air. Half of the people you know will die in ways that today we cant even immagin. But it's ok, lets's go and see.. in all the civilizated world today familys stop to have childrens becose they are too afraid of what america and europe are becaming. But it's ok.. maibe think before write.
That child was so excited!! He will never forget that!!
That was AMAZING!
Its fake
Best video iv seen of this!
That's a once in lifetime shot. Amazing footage.
Not really, they are averaging a launch more than once a week, and a return to land every couple of weeks.
That's flipping awesome..! Wish to see that live someday.❤
...and to think that during this landing burn that it's just one of the nine Merlin 1D engines that it uses to lift off really demonstrates just how powerful these rocket engines are. Great video capture!
How does it control stability? Thrust vectoring of the single engine or additional engines?
@@johnlucier5654это фейк и компьютерная графика.

That was perfection!😮
Grabbing your chest from the sheer impressiveness of a 10 story rocket slowing down and coming down to a landing in front of you. Tons and tons of metal landing as gracefully as a hummingbird. Amazing work engineers at SpaceX. You put in long hours but what you do is incredibly impressive.
Take a bow.
Agreed. :)
16 story!
What's really amazing is how in the near future this will be nothing by comparison.
It was coming so fast but also so precise, amazing, thank you for sharing with us
Whoa. Way cooler angle than the official video feeds!
This looks like something coming in to land - like a sci-fi movie!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Wow.. amazing landing.. look at this kid, his heart pounding reaction. Priceless.. lucky kid gets to experience this event.❤❤
นี้มันคือสิ่งสุดยอดของโลก❤
Imagine how loud that actually is...
The sonic boom is crazy loud!
Louder than anything you will see at an airshow
It must be a fascinating feeling to see it every single time 😮😮
That's totally awesome. Oh that's so cool!😮😮😊😊😊
*Honestly, to be able to achieve such a cool thing, turning the impossible to possible, it's just history in the making right here.. This is just as awesome as humans walking on the moon hehe..* 🤗😎
My thoughts exactly. :)
Who’ve watch this more than twice on for the sound?
Sounds more like fireworks that a SONIC BOOM? SONIC BOOM GO BOOM not pop pop
@@igolfgod4Who said it was a sonic boom? The booster was already sub sonic when it became visible.

Eu nenhuma porque deixo meu celular no mute. Tenho mais o que fazer.
I was born in 1950. Yes, 73 years ago. I lived through the first Moon Landing at the age of 18 years old. Vietnam War hot and heavy and I was going through Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC. My MOS was at Red Stone Arsenal, AL. (HUNTSVILLE). Actually at the Rocket and Space Center. Just my style!
Every time that I see this video, I tell anyone who I am with, “you know, I just wish that Neil Armstrong could have seen this!”. It’s absolutely amazing! Neil would have loved it!
It must have been ASTONISHING to see a spacex Falcon 9 core stage land while camping. What a sight to see!
