Yes, but to be fair, Jon bought a highly overpriced first edition. He could’ve gotten the mid grade LC with the softex for $64k which is much easier to stomach.
That's only if minimum payments are all that is made, every single month, for the entire duration of the loan term. If he makes additional principal payments, sells the truck, trades the truck, etc., that figure is irrelevant.

I have a GH....roof vents work really good; I see them being in the front also one day. I dont recreationally off road, I do go down all the desert trails in my area and the GH is perfect. Drives like a dream...feels small and quick I have the 4T

@TRDJon oh man.Thank Jon for the heads up. Well that kinda sucks. We compete in dog sports in mostly TN and use a Metris van. I'm leaning towards the new 4runner but the boxier shape on the LC make for better headroom for dog travel.

AC vents in the roof is a great idea for rear occupants. Mitsubishi Montero had those in 2001 with the rear air option. Works like a charm. Those wheels you got should be nice. I know the new Tacoma's are loosing some decent MPGs with bigger tires but those are not the hybrid. It will be nice to see how yours does.
Gosh I love the new LC. I really like where you are going with this build! Crazy thing about the three zone climate control is Lexus took it out on the GX Overtrail. D’oh! +1 for the LC.

@TRDJON FYI - Landcruiser resale values are very sensitive to milage. In some situations 10k mi will take $5k off the value. Your wife may be better off leasing a car for real-estate to keep the miles off the LC.

Thanks for breaking down costs for us down to percentage of interests down payments and monthly payments an even your credit so it can help first second or third time buyers who rarely buy new cars get a feel for the market on such a new vehicle I haven’t bought new since 2016 Scion tC 8 years ago I just been toying around with older Toyotas and Lexus vehicles trying to save some money waiting for the market to come back down to earth an plan on buying the new Land Cruiser or a 6th Gen 4Runner next year… The 4 Runner is already been tested and the 4Runner is the better out the dealer off reader and if it’s $20k cheaper I’m deff going with the 4Runner always wanted one and it’s be nice to get the first year of the newly anticipated 6 Gen we’ve waited over 14 years for now…

We have a 5th gen set up similar to yours. Will be getting a 4Runner Trailhunter once they are released. Want to wait a bit for the inevitable teething problems. Maybe even wait until the 2026 model year...cool Land Cruiser. Wish I had a You Tube channel to help with the cost. Enjoy it!
As always Jon, thanks for the content! Love the LC especially in that color! I plan on going the same route with my GX, nothing crazy, just some personalized adds etc. I have been patiently waiting on my Nori / OT+ for two months now. That said, the one thing I'm really bummed about is the lack of roof vents on the OT trims. The other trims have them plus the rear climate controls. Even though there isn't a third row, why leave them out? I mean, they left the damn cupholders! I do have an allocation, with a VIN, on an LC FE but probably still going GX. For now.
If you truly "have" an allocation with a Toyota dealer for a Cruiser, you should do the right thing & let them know well in advance of its arrival that you don't plan to go through with the purchase. Stringing them along with the truck punched/red-dotted in your name & then letting them RDR is to you before it leaves the port only to not end up purchasing it screws up both their month-end books & their future allocations as well.
@@sawyermartin4434 I’ll go two better. I told them up front of my plans with full disclosure. If you’re talking about “doing the right thing,” maybe they shouldn’t have an $8k MA on it. I also told them I wouldn’t pay a dime over MSRP but they still had no problem taking my 1k deposit either. When, or if, my GX comes in, or when I have a definite date, I will make the decision and have a convo with them. I really like both vehicles but I’m keeping my options open as I’m sure they are.
@rayandolina11 Okay, got it. They have your blind deposit, which is not applied towards the Cruiser. The allocation/VIN is not pre-sold to you. Totally different scenario. Both great options, enjoy whatever you end up getting man!

Why you purchased it makes complete sense and financially, it's sound for your situation. Outside of that, I gotta say, holy cow buying new vehicles has never been more expensive. I will drive my 5th gen until I die lol.

Thank you for sharing!! To be personal as well, I financed a 2017 4Runner SR5P in January 2023 for 60-mos, its gonna cost me $40K total (including financing) and that was my LIMIT. Seeing how expensive the new Land cruiser is, I'm not upset I bought my 4Runner last year cuz there's no way I could afford these new Toyota (and Lexus) SUVs/Trucks. But appreciate your videos, 20 years from now when I can afford these I'll return to your videos! haha

Can’t believe this smaller 4 cylinder costs more than a Sequoia, especially with my local dealer offering almost 8k off on the Sequoia. Capital One offered me the best interest rate 6.47 for 72 months or 6.27 for 60 months with 15k down, 810 credit score. Great looking SUV and good luck with it.

I am eyeing the "base" LC when it comes out and I just might get it from Danville Toyota because I am NOT paying any "market adjustment" garbage. Dealers in my area are upcharging the First Edition by $5K-$10K and I'm sure they will do the same for the Base and 1958.

Here is my plan: 1Q 2025, 4runner is coming out, initial wave of LC hype is gone, 4runner hype is in full swing, base 1958 with no options slightly below MSRP at $52k, maybe a bit lower. Lets see if that works. Also would be able to see what recalls we are going to have on this hybrid between now and then...
Solid plan. Tbh I wish I got a 58, however, every one of them out atm is like 60K with options. So logically I spend 10K more for all options. Idk.
I would not be replacing the wheels, its just going to ruin the ride. I would consider a high lift and an extra set of tires for off road/snow

I canceled my LC trim order. All that trim my dealership will come with premium package. Hopefully Toyota will give 1958 more packages options in next year or I will go for the new 4Runner.

I'm interested in a freeway MPG test. Maybe a 100 mile test at 70 MPH. Then a city MPG test.
In my original video I document a 707 mile journey with freeway driving with this one.

I’m starting to like this more than 6th gen 4Runner. More refined overall, full time 4x4 with all the other off road features.
That’s what I’m saying bro. AND, it’s own unique interior.
4runners can also be had with full-time 4wd. Look at the 4th gen with a V8, 5th gen Limited, and the 6th gen should have at least one trim with it. You have many choices!

the paint protection film is a port installed item , if its on the sticker it was installed by a skilled labor worker at a Toyota facility in the states. You got a really nice LC , insane amount of money tho I kinda feel Toyota really kicked hard core Yota enthusiast in the face with the new vehicle pricing.

I think the 1st edition is a rip off. The Land Cruiser (not 1958) with premium package + java leather puts you at 69k before tax/dealer doc so if you can get it at 76k out the door is a good deal i think. My biggest complaint with the LC is the small fuel tank. Only 17.9 gal??? What is Toyota thinking? Wish Toyota would offer a larger factory tank like 25 gallons.

MSRP - depreciation for its 'limited use' means you bought a new to you slightly used LC with a new warranty instead of a Toyota Gold used warranty. Glad you like it and enjoy it which is all that matters at this time. I do not like the new size and package of the LC 250 series compared to my LC 200 series. I predict Toyota will not find as hot a market as expected for the LC 250 in the next year or two.
They have already sold more than they have the 200 series in its last year and they have been out for 2 months. It will definitely be more of a “volume” ish seller for them.
Let’s see if the initial pent up sales holds up for several years. The last several years of the LC 200 was priced too high and actually sent customers to Lexus. If the new LC is a big hit my congratulations to TOYOTA. If not, Toyota will reconfigure it again. It is not the car for me in the new style. I think the BMW X5 and X7 offer more car for the dollar currently as does the Lexus GX550. My favorite is the LX600.

Well said! And to add to that, once you surpass the price of a new corolla or civic every dollar you spend detracts from the fuel economy no matter how good of MPG's it gets!
