I feel like most Americans are having trouble understanding Land Cruiser Prado and what it compares to. Here in Eastern Europe and pretty much everywhere else, Prado is Toyota version of Lexus GX, a smaller Land Cruiser. The focus is on luxury and off road capability whereas you can get a bigger 4runner that is just as capable off road but noticeably less luxurious inside and comfortable on road.
Man you guys are lucky. Congrats. I put a deposit a few weeks ago on a Land Cruiser mid trim for 64k MSRP no markups but was given a 6-10 month wait window.
I pre bought this 1st edition a month ago. Delivery has been delayed twice now. Was supposed to be delivered May 1, then May 15 and now telling me May 30th. They are claiming supply chain problems with fog lites and skid plate. Who knows.
Will you guys do a video on how to use its off road features? I have watched the test drives... but they just "showed" using it now how it or why you use that feature. Its crazy we have both locking difs and stablizer bar. I would love to try it out ourselves on one of the closed toyota courses... maybe just have to sneak on.... when we travel through Maryland we will stop by. If want ever in Maine can show you some cool places to go...
You guys are so lucky! I called the owner of my dealership last August on the day when the new LC was announced as coming to the US Market. Later I learned I was moved down the waiting list and ultimately told I could not get a First Edition. Not sure who they promised it to but I could not get it. That was 10 months ago. I had the 2024 GX550 luxury plus with the 22 wheels and hated it. Rode terrible and the gas mileage was beyond bad. I’m interested in how the ride feels to you guys? Are those 18in rims? How does the hybrid feel? Does it shut itself off all the time? Don’t notice it? Lastly, that feature where it’s constantly monitoring your face barking at you all the time. Did you find it annoying, can that be shut off? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks
Oh wow. So you had it briefly and then returned it? The hybrid engine is definitely an adjustment. It does shut down the engine at stop lights, etc. We haven't figured out how to turn off the face-barking feature but we're working on it!! The LC does have 18-inch rims. At first the ride, and the vehicle all around, was a big adjustment but we're getting used to it and actually like it even more since this video! It's strange how things grow on ya!
@@TrailGridPro Yeah. Got lucky since it's so sought after they gave me full MSRP back for it. Thanks for all the info. on the LC. Glad you're liking it! I'm thinking the 22's ruined the ride for me with the Lexus, I bet the LC is a lot better ride with those 18's. Take care!
@@ronturitto3934the difference in tire size especially between 22s & 18s will definitely make a huge difference in ride quality. I experienced it just going from 19s to 18s on a Honda Civic 14 years ago. The driving modes on Lexus cars will have a major impact as well.
Ok guys what you have is the Toyota landcruiser J250 (prado) it replaces the J150 prado (2.8 cylinder diesel engine type) this was not on offer in the US although the lexus equivalent was. The American landcruiser also known as tge amazon (J200) came with 4.2 V8 diesel engine. It's replacement is not on offer in the US it's the J300 (3.3 V6 diesel engine and it's a massive beast its one and half times bigger than the J250 you've just bought. I'm on my 6th Toyota landcruiser in Ireland 🇮🇪 Great video and you may look like kimmel but you're not as fake as he is.
A v8 diesel was never offered in the US. The J200 in the US only came with the 5.7 3UR. Never a diesel. The 3UR was also used in the US Tundra and Sequoia.
I will add that the last US Land Cruiser that came with a Diesel was the 40 Series. The 60, 80, and 100 in the US were all petrol. The BJ40 (Diesel) are also extremely rare in the US. Often, a diesel 40 series made its way into the US from neighboring Central and South America were they are plentiful and abundant.
Congratulations on your new purchase of the land cruiser. Will you still keep your 4runner? And what do you think of the new 4runnner? For me, I'm quite disappointed in it.i think it's lost its identity, meaning it looks too much like the Tacoma
