Mia Walker is on her school swim team. Before practice, she changes into her swimsuit at a rec center locker room. She had no idea that for four months, a woman was secretly videotaping her and the other youngsters getting undressed. The camera was discovered by pure accident by Mia’s mother, Christina. Video obtained by Inside Edition shows Christina noticing the glare of a camera lens coming from one of the lockers. Who planted the camera? It’s hard to believe, but it was another mom. #InsideEdition

Okay but the scary thing is... This happens all the time! I've heard stories of hidden cameras in gas stations, retail change rooms, locker rooms, most of them being in women's spaces. We have to watch out for each other more!! So sickening...

@Sugas rap got me pregnant I know it can feel so embarrassing and degrading...also frustrating at times when it comes to school settings. I remember my freshman and sophomore years of highschool when I had P.E. and there were large changing rooms. There were no private rooms available. So other girls would have to see eachother without clothes. I got away with dressing in the nurse's bathroom, but only because I have an IEP due to severe generalized anxiety.
I know these conditions have improved a lot since the later 1900's, when my mom described how when she was in school: teachers used to watch all of the boys and girls to make sure they showered as required without messing around. I am so glad that's not considered acceptable anymore in schools.
But it's still very flawed, and needs a lot of improvement. We have to keep using our voices to spread awareness about these things.

When I was in middle school, the male health/PE teacher was caught walking into the girls locker room several times. I was never comfortable around him even before I learned of this, he always would stare at the girls in PE class with such…predatory intent. Idk why he wasn’t fired but I heard it was because he was “justified” as head of our PE department to look in both the girls/boys locker rooms for drugs, weapons, etc… it creeps me out so much that he may have placed a camera (s) in the locker room, I don’t think any were ever discovered but who knows what he was actually trying to attempt by doing that

I'm a janitor for a high school, I found 36 cameras just in the girls locker rooms, and another 16 in the boys locker rooms. in all 52 were found, and over 62,000 hours of footage were obtained. in comparison, the longest youtube upload of all time was only 65,000 hours long which is not much longer than all the footage we busted. After we busted them all using a 4x2 foot florescent light fixture, 11 arrest warrants were settled and all 11 victims serve a year in Madison county jail. the maximum sentemce a county can initiate on a person was given to 9 of the 11 people. As for the other 2, they each got 3 months of jail time and 10 hours of community service for Madison City Proper.

You wouldn't expect there to be a camera there and when you first hear that comment your brain does not automatically appreciate the statement. This happened at my school, it was a health teacher. He got fired but they didn't have a replacement so they hired him back. He is still working there but he's retiring and moving to Florida at the end of the school year. And also he put a camera in the girls bathroom and was in the girls lockeroom a few times, it was when we were in 7th grade and some 6th graders. I'm in 8th grade now.

Disgusting. 5 years ago when I was a senior in high school our agriculture teacher was caught routinely running off during class to have sex with a girl in my grade, and attempted to pursue one of my friends. There was no police involvement and they just let him resign. Why do they just let these things happen?!
