Just found your site! I have a chick that is displaying perosis, accompanied by curled toe...ugh. Was given to us instead of culling. I was thinking riboflavin deficiency with the toes and was looking for as many resources while she/he is hanging in a sling...where I found you. Great post on the chick. I saw your cow, gorgeous btw, and thought of grass toxicity...the perils of spring. We had to watch the protein in grain for horses and cows that had laminitis. If you are able to find a 2nd hand bread company ask if you could have the dark breads. The protein is low but they can eat a great deal (chewing satisfaction) and will graze less aggressively. I'm subscribing to your channel...great site...thanks!

Thank you Kate, Miss Pearl was doing much better ... we put her on heavy loads of grass hay before morning turn out ... then .. we got more rain ... she refused the grass hay and headed for pasture on a light stomach .. sure enough . she came hobbling back in yesterday ... we are giving her pain meds.. and will be restricting her pasture time again .. wish I had that bread outlet .. but live very rurally .. Hope your chicken recovers .. thanks for stopping by!

It seems contradictory to click 'like' for this video, since my heart was breaking the entire time. Poor Miss Pearl. I hope the vet figures out what's wrong. I wonder if she has an abscess or a rock in her hoof. Oh, and I just read your comments that it's lamitis.
