FINALLY a modded race with a roster that I like. The units all seem well made and well though out, the creator had a good vision to make the faction retain a fantastical element and a realistic element, perfectly fitting the warhammer aesthetic. Wonderful
Don’t mess with camels. Wild camels are highly aggressive and genuinely terrifying. They are probably one of the most dangerous animals in the Australian outback. Little known fact: They were brought to Australia by Afghan immigrants back in the 19th century and have since gone feral.
I am blown away by this like holy shit! Its such good production quality. I love that the wild elephants can have the little fez hats on top (its adorable) and I love how the Enchanted Ropes are using that one Slaaneshi beast's animations, such a creative idea. I'm really hoping that the OVN team will work their magic on some other corners of the Warhammer world like in the Southlands/Africa, Ind/India, Kuresh/SEA, Nippon/Japan, and Ihan/Korea because those Southland Warriors look badass as hell.
As a lebanese person i find this honestly really cool Also an effert or afrit however you spell it is one of the most destructive demons being made of just fire while normal djinns are just demons and even then there are many types of djinns in Arabian culture and countries. i do hope the modders get even better and by the looks of it deserve the praise they get for their efforts. Thank you for covering great book of grudges
At this rate the modders will make even South Pole deamonsbeasts fraction with their own characters and campaign before GW, BL, and CA even remember the planet has 2 poles. The only thing missing is Crazy Hassan Camel merchant as legendary lord. (For those who don't know since there is barely anything about it in the lore, when Polar Gates collapsed, people were mixed with animals they were herding, and thats how beastmen were created. But in the south pole, there were no people there yet, so animals there got mixed with daemons, or animals got super corrupted with warp energy, its never explained/expanaded on and now there super gross monsters all around the south pole. But there are hints that people went and settled in the south pole too, so if Old World is back and GW and BL learns they can milk Fantasy using novels just like they do with 40k and Heresy, we may explore the lore and world some more in the next 50 years.)
the copher faction overhaul mod, the outremer faction overhaul mod and sir John tryweld from mixu’s legendary lords mod would go great with this mod as they now have a proper Araby to crusade against.
Johnny Tryhard is the funniest part of my Repance campaign. Ended up accidentally getting him semi loaded by Slaanesh cus of a rare item that gave him immortality. Turns out the wine might be too good.
If only. While Araby is still mentioned on a handful of occaisons, they're no longer stated as the instigators of the invasion that led to the First Crusade (the entire section on that event in the Bretonnian Arcane Journal mentions only "enemies of Estalia" repeatedly, going out of its way to avoid saying who they were or where they came from, or anything about Jaffar or the Crusade pursuing him out of Estalia into Araby to take down his empire). If GW are trying to avoid talking about the single most impactful event Araby had on Warhammer World history... I fear we will not see an army of them on the tabletop.
@@BittermanAndyIf they ever add them to the game, they’re gonna have to revamp their lore (what little there is). Cuz like, I don’t see Disney being happy with a character explicitly named for one of their characters.
@@diamondmetal3062 I am no expert on copyright law or anything like that, but Disney's Jafar was named after a character (Jaffar, note spelling) from the 1940 British Technicolor film "The Thief of Baghdad", who in turn got the name from the classic "Tales of the 1001 Arabian Nights" stories... and, I am led to believe, Jafar is a common Arabian name (not an expert on that either, though). It's not like Malekith, whose name change I despise but who was directly and blatantly ripped off from Marvel comics. Jafar is not a unique Disney invention, nor do they have any unique claim to the name... as far as I know, I am not an expert, etc.
@@BittermanAndy Nah, considering he’s a powerful sorcerer decked in dark Middle Eastern regalia with the ability to command djinn, I think it’s pretty explicit (also the wiki all but states he was likely based on Jafar from Aladdin) Still, I think he could be a very interesting faction, now that I’m reading some of the lore between the war between Brettonia and Araby, considering he somehow created an alliance of other Arabyan sultans, a few Tomb Kings, Lahmian vampires, local Skaven forces and even Kairos Fateweaver.
@diamondmetal3062 oh, he clearly was based on Disney's Jafar - that's not my point. My point is Disney's Jafar was based on a 1940s Jaffar which was based on the Jaffar from 1001 Nights. So how can Disney complain? And yes, a faction with LOTS of cool potential.
It's always nice that the modded factions have more interesting diplomatic relations. For instance, whenever I played drycha, I kind of always wish she got along with the other slavers ladys I like the dark elves and the fimir since she could be like a slave dealer a mod at least would capitalize on something like that.
The jump in quality from the WH2 version is insane. The models were very wack in WH2, but in this version they look professionally made by CA. Amazing quality all around The sound mod framework is amazing so we can finally have custom voice lines, but so far araby only has one guy voice the Lords and it gets repetetive when you hear "you stand before the sultan" for 1000 times lol. So I look forward to the mod getting more voice acting
Went to sleep listening to the DLC Araby ptich, looked at some Araby STL cause I am a sucker for models, and awake to this...... What's a man to do with so much love!!
I'm blown away by the quality, the models on the hippos and camels and genies in particular are at or above professional quality, really everything is. I enjoyed the WH2 Araby mod and will definitely be playing this when/if I get back into WH3. I'm wondering though, were the modders able to introduce their own custom animation riggings into the mod? I see many of the units are using vanilla riggings, for instance the enchanted ropes are clearly using Fiends of Slaanesh animations, Sea Nymph is using Fay Enchantress animations, Desert Spirit is using Mourngul, and the Fire Efreeti is using Ogre animations.
Don't know anything about total war modding, but I haven't seen any custom rigs in total mods. It is clearly possible to add custom animations though, so maybe thatd be useful

Unbelievable levels of quality. Golden Magus looks poggers, same for Jaffar with Tzeentch and slave market mechanic. The roster is outstanding, even the visuals, look at the pit fighters or Dervishers or Bowmen or all cavalry units or magical units (sea nymph, enchanted ropes)!! Damnnn. Even better than what CA would output. Just unreal to see these excellent designs, into the game properly colored and animated. Even with 5.0 and the poggers empire/dwarf/nurgle rework, I would probably play this mod first. CA will never make Araby, but even if they did, I doubt it would be better than this. Low-tier grounded army (no Cathay bs), elevated via campaign mechanics ftw
So I got in a little time with this last night and it's really good. I played as the Scythian lady. It's quite good, though being surrounded by legendary lords means at least 2 (the dwarves and the lizardmen most likely) are going to declare war on you randomly. Also the Numas mechanic, while neat, swings slowly and Numas itself is basically doomed. By the time I was able to beat off the multiple full stacks of legendary lords coming at me, setra ate numas. I did not get any penalties for this? Faction is really good though, you rely heavily on your skirmishers. The scythian nomads getting stalk on them is extremely clutch, your big weakness early on is a lack of AP though so you want to get elephants or camel jezzails ASAP. Several early game techs and items let you make your spearmen line decently sturdy, however their big weakness is leadership - you need to find a way to overcome this if you can. PS: those concerned about balance - don't be. Faction is capable but not overpowered. Admittedly the fact you rely on skirmishers means you're going to be exploiting the TW AI
I just came to say THANK YOU for including "Mod Review" in the title! I actually stopped following your channel a long while ago (but still sub'd) because I kept seeing so many videos talking about new content, only to find out once I started watching the vid it was about a mod update. So I couldn't depend on your channel anymore for WHIII news, it was like a Boy Who Cried Wolf scenario. More often than not, the video was likely gonna be about a mod lol. So imagine my surprise to see a vid of yours with this in the title! I was still sub'd, hoping one day I could come back to you, and now it appears that day has come. THANK YOU!
the one complaint I have for the OvN team, if they read these things, and it's a MINOR one - the Hippos are too small. Unless i'm just a dumb, hippos are twice as big as that usually. Elephants from that region, absolutely that size, but Hippos? I understand it was so they could use the boar boy mesh. I feel like the ogre rider's unit would serve better?

Even with 5.0 and the poggers empire/dwarf/nurgle rework, I would probably play this mod first. CA will never make Araby, but even if they did, I doubt it would be better than this. Low-tier grounded army (no Cathay bs), elevated via campaign mechanics ftw
CA: Araby will never be in WH3
Modders: Hold my beer
GBofG good job on this video
Fantastic!
My only gripe is that everything is overly de-saturated. There really needs to be deeper, more vibrant colors.
The grounded colors is what makes it great, in contrast to fairytale cathay. It feels like medieval 2, or total warhammer 1 color palette
Sandstorm "commanding the Desert Spirit of Da'ru'de" LOL
Man i was just about to post this wooohooo
I’ve been waiting for a thing to get me excited and come back to Warhammer 3 tw. This I think feel was it.
The only thing im missing is something big. Like a giant sandmonster with schimitars or something. But cant state enough How excited i am for this!
Hell yes. Starting this right now.
Wow thats amazing!
I was like, if its a fantasy Araby faction it better have flying carpets or no way I'm going to try this mod. Then there it is!
This mod looks so cool I almost feel like the Dread King Legions mod is lacking content now :(
Time to reinstall.
Might actually buy the game just for this mod.
THANK YOU!
I'm subscribed for the polar opposite reason. I like to get inspired and informed when a new, amazing mod drops. xD
looks promising. + points for not calling the slaves "laborer's" as well...
Interns
Was pleased to note the scythians/'good' faction over in the mountains lacks the slave mechanic completely, only Jaffar/the Gold Magus have it.
Неможе бути😮. Дякую за найсвіжіші відео! Я так чекав Аравію!!!
How do i download it if i don't have the game on Steam? 😢
Do OVN add more regions?
Shoutout to Janet On Occasion for roleplay campaigns ^^
Amazing mod! If only CA managed to pull out these forgotten human nations!
Compatibility with old world and sfo?
Now i just need Skeggi and amazons and i can play that game for the next 10 years :)
the one complaint I have for the OvN team, if they read these things, and it's a MINOR one - the Hippos are too small. Unless i'm just a dumb, hippos are twice as big as that usually. Elephants from that region, absolutely that size, but Hippos?
I understand it was so they could use the boar boy mesh. I feel like the ogre rider's unit would serve better?
My favorite modded faction is in can't wait to play. Hope they add the Amazons, my 2nd favorite modded faction.
