    THE BEST ENDING TO A MOVIE EVER AND I HAVE SEEN THEM ALL

    1977 was a very good and busy year for John Williams. This movie came out in April , Stars Wars in May and Close Encounters came at the end of the year. The last 40 minutes of this movie is a total edge of the seat suspence thrill ride !

      The leitmotif that John Williams assigned to the Force in "Star Wars", 1977 (Binary Sunset), shares its first four notes with this fragment of the soundtrack of "The Black Sunday" 8:14.

    Love how it goes from such sinister notes and phrases to those redemptive broad sweeping strings. Tells the whole story of the film in music. Amazing stuff. For me, Williams and Goldsmith are the best there ever was in the business.

    Excellent score!! One of the last films of the good actor and playwright Robert Shaw. Thanks!!

    Fantastic post Mind! This is one of my all time favorite Williams scores! In the early 80s when the movie was on tv, I would record the final climatic ending on my tape recorder to get that triumphant final Williams cue & end credits theme. I was so excited to get the FSM release of the original score. Thanks again Mind!!

    John Frankenheimer, John Williams, Robert Shaw, and a great supporting cast. Great film!

    the first notes of luke skywalker's theme can be heard in parts of this. interesting since jw scored this movie immediately prior to star wars. exciting suite.

    I like when JW trys to be more like Jerry Goldsmith!! the nice odd meter changes. That first chord is sooo Jurassic Park/Schindlers Workforce (high wire stunts!) . Letter Bombs and Attack on Olympic Village in Munich were some other good examples and parts of War of the Worlds!

    So much frickin' Star Wars in this score -- things stick in John's mind and he revisits motifs from score to score

      "Black Sunday"is way better. "Two Minute Warning" was a cheapo a rival studio put out to make money off this movie while it was in production.

    One of the John williams' best work and also fury. Spielberg and lucas ruined william's career.
    His music became more crowd pleasing music just like Spielberg movies.
    Has zimmer 's music it can stand as just music itself and keep want to listen to his music
    Williams' music doesn't have that after Spielberg and lucas

      Disagree, take AI or Wow or catch me if you can.. or munich. All different. But JW is recognisable signature more than Jerry Goldsmith.

    • @TB1M1
      @TB1M1 4 года назад +1

      Partially true. I think when he scored films with Oliver Stone or Alfonso Cuoron he was pushing the envelope a bit more. Jerry Goldsmith was doing this on every film however.

      Good to hear from someone else who appreciates THE FURY. Along with BLACK SUNDAY and DRACULA, that makes up Williams' trilogy of fine scores for mid-late '70s movies that didn't do all that well at the box office.
