Love Tora Tora Tora and love the soundtrack! It's foreboding and eerie and love the Japanese instruments in it. Jerry Goldsmith is awesome!

I really wish I could find the full ost
Those quieter tunes with the almost muted yet foreboding percussion just hit me with this specific feeling of "some vital piece of information is definitely missing here"
The whole soundtrack is dreadfully under rated

I couldn't agree more! Not only the incredible contrapuntal writing in the opening credits but so much more. For me, particularly striking is "Chattanooga Choo Choo" superimposed over the foreboding percussion the night before the attack.

¡Genial!

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto: I had intended to deal a fatal blow to the American fleet by attacking Pearl Harbor immediately after Japan's official declaration of war. But according to the American radio, Pearl Harbor was attacked 55 minutes before our ultimatum was delivered in Washington. I can't imagine anything that would infuriate the Americans more. II fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.
Great Cast and Music and Epic this Film presented

Keeping in mind the final result of the war that this surprise attack helped to start, I think it's safe to say that Dec. 7th 1941 is one of the most fateful days in Human history.

Also check out the score to "The Challenge" JG was the master, infusing all different music styles in a unique and original way. Sorely missed. Buy the CD then turn it up full blast in a car.. it's quite the experience!! I wish there were composers like him around today, but the system doesn't promote that kind of creativity balanced with business anymore

This by far is my favorite Navy movie on the story of December 7 1941. and So much more better than that piece of crap they made called Pearl Harbor..... This movie is far more accurate to the story of what really happened at Pearl that Sunday morning.

Maybe because Goldsmith composed both scores? Classical composers tend to have a sound unique to themselves. A good example is Danny Elfman.

I have seen the movie Tora,Tora,Tora about 5 times when I was in the Navy on all three of my Westpac cruises and my second Mediterranean cruise in 1973. The movie was great, but like always World War II movies about the war in the Pacific is, always has been vastly underrated for no reason while Patton was way too far overrated and so was Catch 22 which was garbage.
