John and Jerry are in my top 5!!! Masters!!!!!!!
JOHN WILLIAMS IS UNQUESTIONALLY THE MASTER OF ORCHESTRAL FILM MUSIC-HANDS DOWN!!😊
One of the great Thriller Scores ever
One of my favourite, more obscure John Williams film scores.
for me2 :) looks a bit like a Beethoven score... John at his best!
@@rvbvbaservices I have the limited edition/extra tracks version of this. You are absolutely correct----it's my favorite from John Williams as well. No hesitation about saying it---it's a masterpiece.
Agreed this score and his work on Black Sunday deserve more attention that his more famous works.
John Williams is The Maestro.
Trágic, beautiful and awesome!!!!!!!
One of Jonny's absolute best works. This one still gives me the chills the same as it did when I first saw it.😀👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
John Williams-in his very best Prokofiev mood for the opening credits music. It’s stunning and wonderfully dark. 🎶👍🏼❤️
astute recognition---still, not thematic theft here; it is all stylistic and orchestral (I know you didn't suggest that there is any musical thievery, but Williams is so often accused of this, that I wanted to assure readers that it is just not so--at least, not here)
I think of Bernard Herrman when I hear low woodwinds, but this is about John.
Love this movie and the soundtrack too!
Grande John Williams.❤👏🏻
Conosco la colonna sonora, ma non ho mai visto il film.
A classic!!! On every level!
At 10:24 it sounds just like Bernard Herrman's music. Great score.
The writing on this is next level. And scarily he also penned Superman the same year. Sheesh. And Jaws 2!
man's a damn legend!!!! he then continues it onwards throughout his career, can't wait for his Fifth indiana score!
More proof of Williams’ versatility as a composer. An obscure film but great score.
On a side note: the main theme sounded like it could’ve been the inspiration for Hellraiser’s equally beautiful theme as both themes are coincidentally waltzes. Which also begs the question, why do waltzes make for great horror movie themes? One other that comes to mind is the one from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
I heard this score for the first time the other day, and I was shocked at the similarities between it and Hellraiser 2's score (one of my all-time favorite movie scores).
Magnificent!
Indeed, it is. So powerful, haunting, shocking, beautiful, eerie, ponderous . . . all in one offering. After all this time, I still get literal chills while listening to it.
Great supernatural music, he also did Dracula soundtrack.
Happy 90th Birthday, Johnny!
A masterpiece
Biofeedback and Parapsychology!!! Great theme, great movie and extraordinary music!!! Thanks from Brasil ( or " Brazil " );!!!!
Cassie going down the stairs ❤️
The scene on the stairs was great.
The main theme is go magnificently evil. I miss those horror films with maleficent orchestral music, especially in the beginning. Made them more cinematic.
A lesson to us all, that any malice can be shut down at the grid. The circulation of the vulnerability of power. The trajectory of WILL.
Thanks for posting the LSO recording of this score. The OST is nice but was smaller since it was recorded in LA vs London which Williams was able to do with the LSO after the Dracula (1979) recording session. Brilliant.
Not dracula session but Superman's
Another great job from the master. Said that, many lines sound like an extended version of Jaws with a dash of Star Wars soundtracks and, many years later, I can hear Harry Potter all around. Still a great soundtrack.
10:46 he picks up Amy Irving and they leave. Seen the movie a billion times. Close my eyes and see Hester flying into the windshield. Each time he pulls the trigger and shoots the jogging dude. Great movie but the music made it that much better.
This music is phenomenal. Perhaps my favorite from Williams in general.
Back when I got the double CD set of John Williams' Dracula score ( my personal favorite) one writer mentioned it was the only John Williams straight Horror score. No, that Dracula score was horror mixed with Romance of the Gothic type. THIS score for The Fury IS horror of a kind that when I played it for my hubby his remark was Satan seemed to be in that music. Frightening eerie other worldly. One of the most impassioned, most fiercely beautiful and most cunningly conceived in all if John Williams's canon. Too good to only put on on Halloween
I think if this movie was made today it would be a great film. But I would still use John William's score.
🖤
If John Williams did a Batman score...
How did you get those tracks?! They sound different, restored and enhanced.
This could be sourced from the La-La Land 2012 CD.
I've never seen this movie. I bought the soundtrack as a kid just because I like John Williams music. So, just based on the music alone, this is still one of my favorite soundtracks. "Search for Robin" stands alone as a beautiful piece of work but I do love every track on this album.
