  • After suffering from Covid a couple of months ago and never fully recovering, I decided I needed to do something different, to motivate myself to push myself to get back into hiking, something which I love doing!
I decided to start a RUclips channel to give myself something to work towards, a reason to get out of the house and out for a hike on my days off!
I don’t really expect anyone to watch, this is really just personal motivation to get me going, but if you do watch this video, thank you!
As I mentioned in the video, this channel is more of a library for myself, to store videos of hikes that I can look back on in the years to come, but that does mean there will be more videos!
So if you did watch this one, and if you enjoyed it, and especially if hiking and Dartmoor are your thing, then subscribe to see more, and share my library of videos with me.
    Tors bagged on this hike:
    Oke Tor
    Little Oke Tor
    Knattaborough Tor
    Hart Tor

Learning the best routes from tor to tor is half the challenge, I love route planning but despite pre planning once your on the ground it can be very different. Thing I like is once you’ve done an area it stays in your head forever. We started making videos but it’s finding the time to get out with work and family commitments, I’m off out this Wednesday and really looking forward too it , great video btw Adam

@@Moor2Sea definitely one of the biggest challenges, but you’re spot on about it staying in your head for next time you’re in the area!
Where are you heading to on Wednesday? I’ll keep my fingers crossed for good weather for you!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!

Could you provide a comment on what measures you took to get better? What worked and what didn't?

Hi, I’ve found that resting really didn’t help in the long run, it’s good to rest to get over the initial bout of illness, but when the long Covid set in I just thought if I keep resting I’ll recover faster, but that didn’t seem to happen!
So I started just trying to force myself to be active. Started with small things, walking around the block or to the shops for example, and worked my way up from there. I felt rough when I was doing the walks, and immediately after, but I would slowly start to feel better and better as I kept doing it. A little bit like getting fitness back when you haven’t been to the gym in a long time!
That’s what has been working for me anyway, and that’s why I made this video and started this channel, to motivate myself to push through and keep hiking.
I’m not medically trained in any way so please don’t take my advice as gospel, but that’s what has been working for me ☺️
      Thanks for watching
