Cool as an ABY box can get.
Indeed ; )
Great video! For Example 1, how do you have the guitars panned in your DAW? I'm trying to figure out how the Width control interacts with the panning.I typically hard-pan double tracked rhythm guitars and I'm wondering if that is advisable if you choose to dime the Width control.
Howdy! I'm running inputs 1 & 2 straight into a stereo track within Logic. So I haven't touched the panning specifically (but on a stereo track they would be set hard left and right by default). Hope that helps ; )
Nice video mate, thank you. Too bad the yellow box increases high frequencies in the right channel and decreases in the left. Makes it sound like you have panned everything slightly to the right. 🥸😕😞
Thanks! Yeah, agreed. At 100% it can be a bit too extreme. However, I really like it in the 40% to 60% range. It's subtle... But I find some light stereo spread is great for making more room in the centre channel of your mix. It comes down to personal taste I guess. Cheers ; )
@@guitariq one could probably mitigate the problem by panning it back to the left or just boosting the highs slightly on the left channel. I'm a picky bastard, I like my shit impeccable lol
