I've been an educator for 24 years. I recognize excellent teaching when I see it. You sir, are an excellent teacher! You have the unique ability to make complex ideas seem relatively straightforward without talking down to those you're teaching. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. This was an excellent video tutorial!

I rarely ever respond to videos and such, yet this clip, is clear, concise and provides you with all one needs to know about adding a second amp to your rig. If only more of these so called “educator’s” did the same. Well done!!

I started playing around with stereo rigs over covid. Wish I would've seen this vid before I started. I run into an AC15 and a Fender Twin/Pro/or Blues Jr, and sometimes 3 amps for kicks. I have to say, it makes everything sound 3 dimensional and opens up so much better at low volumes. I can never go back to just one amp. Thanks for the tips which help bring it all together.

Yes! Been running a Blues Jr for the wet and clean while running a Pro Jr for the dry and dirty. The combo of 12&10” speakers is awesome.
It’s also good to have a second amp (that’s easy to transport) in case of any failures.

    Great advice/content.
I purchased my first guitar in 1974 and haven't looked back since.
I've found that the amplifier choice and diversity is much more important than what kind of guitar you use.
I'm not playing out anymore, however my current rig is an old Plexi paired with a Twin Reverb I've had since 1976.
Not a fun rig to move around, but for home recording it is the best of both worlds.
Like I said, amplifier and speaker choices are perhaps the most important decisions you'll make concerning your final tone.

So, the effects loop in the amps are not being used, in any of these examples. This is all a bit confusing. I have the ABY, with 2 amps, but I'm having a hard time getting true stereo, even with that. If the delays and modulation are in front of the one amp, fuzzes and overdrives aren't going to sound very good. Thanks for the information.

11:00 this is the method I use to support a seven amp stereo rig. The dry signal goes out from a stereo chorus pedal, the signal is split again through stereo delay and reverb pedals, then the wet signals go out from a boss rc-505 mk2 which has six amp outputs! I also use all bass amps for the clean headroom since I get distortion and compression from pedals.

I love that you said that one had to have identical amps to run a stereo setup, and then just went with two completely different amps. I run a Fender Deluxe Reverb Tone Master, and a Roland Blues Cube Hot in true stereo (Neunaber Immerse Reverberator), with the Fender set super clean and the Roland a bit on the edge of breakup. Sounds amazing. I also run a wah after the pedal board and only into the Roland. Makes for good and fun times.

The Vox for my jangley sound and the Blackstar for my more sonic and lead guitar.
