If you watch Oppenheimer in interviews, dropping the bomb destroyed him spiritually. He actually acted like that on camera, the dead inside thousand yard stare. If someone with that level of permanent despair looks at you then suddenly focuses like he did with Thanos, it can swiftly become terrifying.

"You wanna talk about Death? How bout the one that looked at you and wiped left." is also a reference to the fact that, after his whole crusade to impress Death, she chose Deadpool over him. That's one of the reasons Deadpool can't die. Thanos cursed him with immortality (using T-Ray and the Cosmic Cub), since there was a sort of love triangle between Thanos, DP and Death. I say sort of, because it isn't really a triangle. Thanos was infatuated with Death, but she wanted to be with DP, and he wanted the same.

So to explain the whole "home wrecker" bar from Thanos. Linus Pauling was a chemist that worked with Oppenheimer on the Manhattan Project and the two were good friends for a while. However it's no secret that Oppenheimer was attracted to Pauling's wife, Ava, and it is suggested that they were having an extra marital affair together. Although the affair was never confirmed to have happened (outside some suspiciously timed tickets to travel to Mexico) it was enough to drive a wedge between the two friends and eventually split them apart. He had another affair with Katherine Puening, a radical Berkeley student and former American Communist Party member, also creating a minor scandal by sleeping together after a party, later finding out she was pregnant and married. Her status as a Communist party sympathizer got him essentially damned and blacklisted by the government and society as McCarthy era Red Scare politics was rising in America.

In the behind the scenes for it, it sounds like they put a lot of time and money into the Thanos costume, but once they put it together, it was too difficult to move. That's why his mouth is often in shadow during the battle to make it less obvious that the mouth doesn't match the words. Similar problems with the gauntlet itself, which was difficult to make a snapping motion with once they got it designed so the gems would light up. For all the costume work they've done, I don't think there's another battle where they've bulked someone out like that and by the time they realized it wasn't working, they didn't have time to go back to square one.

I always love that line. Chemistry and math in one bar
Specifically uranium-235 is an isotope useful in that it can sustain a fission chain reaction, unlike the more common uranium-238. It's also the only fissile isotope that's also a primordial nuclide, meaning it's existed in its current form since before the Earth formed.

The hindu book you refer too is "Bhagvat Gita", when Vishnu in a human form of Krishna had to tell arjuna to fight and do his duty then he shows his real form of all mighty making arjun realise oh it is the almight the ultimate death......also I have never read the book because it is a conversation between krishna and arjin which happens on battlefield.....which itself is a story of mahabharta......you guys should really really check it out....bhagvat gita is said to have all the answers of every problem ever and mahabharta is just epic it has drama, action, high-tec, lust, betrayal involving nuclear weapons and inter-dimensional storage war within family, good vs evil...anywaysi shouldn't blabber, I am not much of a religious person anyways

Religion aside it sounds like an interesting story if one were to take it as mere fiction.

@@Kleehv oh it is indeed..... that's why I brought it up......I would really encourage you to watch mahabharata (newer version) it's a little long but better than any series out there ever

i still love a small detail at 14:01 where if you look in his eyes as he says, "I've got that fissile material", you can see a mushroom cloud in each eye. not sure who else caught that but i have always liked it

when he said "there is no balance" that could also be a play on molecules. In chemistry you learn about how they try to achieve balance with their valence electrons

For the next battle, Cleopatra vs Marilyn Monroe gets absolutely _vicious_ and contains one of, if not the most, brutal disses in all of ERB.

He did all of this to impress Death, but she has a fascination with Deadpool in the comics, so she pretty much did swipe left on Thanos.

You also missed when he said, "In this battle, there is no balance" as in balancing the equations because he's a chemist. This also happens in nuclear reactions, U235 is broken down on the left side and there is no U235 on the right side, but lighter elements.

the "learned to love your bomb" line is a movie reference Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Also terrans could be a star craft reference, but quite of of science fiction has used the term, it just means an inhabitant of earth.
