A hilarious satire about nuclear annihilation. Slim Pickens rides a hydrogen bomb to the ground like a bucking horse after it’s released from a B-52
Yes, that line is genius, Saying that he will split Thanos like the nucleus of the U235 atom, during a nuclear reaction If you split the isotope U235, you first get two atoms Krypton and Barium plus three neutrons, thus splitting you like 2 and 3 from 5, 2+3 = 5
For the fissile material part: Quick Wikipedia: In nuclear engineering, fissile material is material capable of sustaining a nuclear fission chain reaction. By definition, fissile material can sustain a chain reaction with neutrons of thermal energy. The predominant neutron energy may be typified by either slow neutrons (i.e., a thermal system) or fast neutrons. Which just pretty much means he can keep going on and on. As long there’s stuff to use. So he’s never ending… I thought it was really clever.
Ok, going to geek out on the "Split U like 2 and 3 from 5" bar for the Ubernerd double. In a fission reaction of U-235, a atom of uranium is split to produce two nuclei of lighter elements and three neutrons, which go on to cause the next chain reaction when they hit three more uranium atoms. And the core goes supercritical in approximately 5 millionths of a second. Maryland geek cred in the house. Mike drop.

It's made these videos ten times more enjoyable for me, also as a plus it introduced me to your rapping. You've earned this sub and fan. Keep it up.
"Terran" simply means "from Earth". Terra is the Latin term for Earth/land, and as such it has become normal for sci-fi to refer to humans as Terrans rather than Earthlings.
The “Split U like 2 and 3 from 5” Also has another meaning because during nuclear fission the atom is split to cause the chain reaction, so Oppenheimer is literally splitting the Uranium isotope Also a little bit of a stretch here but the U, 2, 3 and 5 are all each split by one word so might be that as well All in all this was an amazing bar
Finally! Someone who knows enough to understand Oppenheimer's bars! It's so frustrating to watch people react who don't get it, and declare this a 'meh' battle. Still here to recommend: Gordon Ramsay vs Julia Child, Rasputin vs Stalin, Ash vs Darwin, and Spielberg vs Hitchcock.
Probably already came to this conclusion, but the heavy breathing between Oppenheimer's lines was because he was a smoker; and that's how his 'drags' kinda sounded when he would smoke and talk during some of his recordings. Like that stressed exhale to release the smoke and get right back into the conversation at hand.
And Thanos' sword that he uses in Endgame is supposed to be inspired by helicopter rotors. It even makes the noise when he spins it to block Iron Man's blast.

Terran just means earthling. Never learned to love his bomb comes from the the movie Dr Stragelove: or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. A lot of people don't remember the full title of that flick. Liking your reactions.
Dan Bull was great in that and NicePeter's Hannibal was spot on for the character. I have mixed feelings about the JuliavGordon, it starts kind of weak for me but has some great roasts in it (pun intended)
A lot of people believe that the reason Thanos looks so off is because most of their budget went to Joker vs. Pennywise (previous battle) and they just didn't have time or money to render a cgi Thanos, which is fair. Though I'm pretty sure most people forgive it though because Oppenheimer is absolute 🔥💯
In the behind the scenes for it, it sounds like they put a lot of time and money into the Thanos costume, but once they put it together, it was too difficult to move. That's why his mouth is often in shadow during the battle to make it less obvious that the mouth doesn't match the words. Similar problems with the gauntlet itself, which was difficult to make a snapping motion with once they got it designed so the gems would light up. For all the costume work they've done, I don't think there's another battle where they've bulked someone out like that and by the time they realized it wasn't working, they didn't have time to go back to square one.
Kind of. As much they try their best, they simply cannot compare to CGI and budget level of Marvel. IMO, it look decent. Not best, but could've been way worse.

For the fissile material part:
Quick Wikipedia: In nuclear engineering, fissile material is material capable of sustaining a nuclear fission chain reaction. By definition, fissile material can sustain a chain reaction with neutrons of thermal energy. The predominant neutron energy may be typified by either slow neutrons (i.e., a thermal system) or fast neutrons.

Mike drop.
Can we please stop dropping Mike, poor guy is constantly in Hospital
Also it's a jab at thanos because 2 and three isn't balanced.
This is high school physics so not really geeking. Also it doesn't have to be three neutrons it's usually rather arbitrary

This has to be the ERB reaction I revisit the most often. I had dismissed this ERB the most because the idea was kind of weird. After listening to the reaction, and reading the comments, I realise that I had known little of Oppenheimer besides his brief mention in history classes. Thankfully this ERB was so one-sided that it encouraged me to read more into this man.
I genuinely appreciate your reaction style.

"Terran" simply means "from Earth". Terra is the Latin term for Earth/land, and as such it has become normal for sci-fi to refer to humans as Terrans rather than Earthlings.

I think the home wrecker line can also pertain to homes destroyed in a nuclear blast
The “Split U like 2 and 3 from 5”
Also has another meaning because during nuclear fission the atom is split to cause the chain reaction, so Oppenheimer is literally splitting the Uranium isotope
Also a little bit of a stretch here but the U, 2, 3 and 5 are all each split by one word so might be that as well
All in all this was an amazing bar
This is a "meh" battle. Thanos is fucking garbage the whole time.
Who said this was a meh battle?
Probably already came to this conclusion, but the heavy breathing between Oppenheimer's lines was because he was a smoker; and that's how his 'drags' kinda sounded when he would smoke and talk during some of his recordings. Like that stressed exhale to release the smoke and get right back into the conversation at hand.
Oppenheimer is prob my fav erb char, I would actually love to listen to tracks with a similar style and effect. it's so unique to me

Strangely enough, the Thanos Copter was a real thing. According to the Marvel wiki, it first appeared on Spidey Super Stories #39 on March 1979
And Thanos' sword that he uses in Endgame is supposed to be inspired by helicopter rotors. It even makes the noise when he spins it to block Iron Man's blast.

The U 235 bar also goes deeper since after fission it breaks into two lighter nuclei whose mass ratio is 2 and 3 compared to 5 of uranium.
There's also the two atoms and 3 resulting neutrons released totalling 5 products from the fission.

Jack the Ripper vs Hannibal Lecter and Julia Child vs Gordon Ramsay are both fire
This!
That’s not the reason at all. Lloyd is a huge comic buff and wanted to be more true to the comic depiction.
I think they were going for the comics thanos not movie thanos
Or just don't care, because it's one of weaker raps from ERB
"Terran" means from Terra, which is the name for earth by beings not from earth in the MCU
And not just in the MCU. It's a general term for humans in sci-fi.
@@Theis_Ejsing And in reality. It's just latin. Terra is Earth's original name
@@notbob555 just translated, one language is not more original than another. So 2,000 years ago the Italians may have said Terra, but also 2,000 years ago the Angles and Saxons said Erthuz, so we can’t know what’s original unless someone finds the first human language, which has so far not been found
@@aerobolt256 but does that matter? My point was that it's an ancient word and didnt originate in scifi

Nah, Terra is literally earth in Latin.

Specifically uranium-235 is an isotope useful in that it can sustain a fission chain reaction, unlike the more common uranium-238. It's also the only fissile isotope that's also a primordial nuclide, meaning it's existed in its current form since before the Earth formed.
