Honestly I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about fissile material. :( Quick Wikipedia: In nuclear engineering, fissile material is material capable of sustaining a nuclear fission chain reaction. By definition, fissile material can sustain a chain reaction with neutrons of thermal energy. The predominant neutron energy may be typified by either slow neutrons (i.e., a thermal system) or fast neutrons. I thought it was really clever for a rap battle. Meaning he will just keep going on and on.
That line "I'm here to split U like 2&3 from 5." Pure genius. Because Uranium 235 is the Isotope used to make the atomic bomb. The Chemical symbol for Uranium on the Periodic Table is U, so splitting U 235 is literally how they made the bomb, but also 2 + 3 = 5. Oh, it works on so many levels. So brilliant.

"You wanna talk about Death, How about the one that looked at you and swiped left" Oof size: *large* Because in the comics Thanos's motive for killing half the universe was to try and impress Lady Death, while in the movie it was overpopulation. Either way, he was a single father trying to use his rock collection to end universal hunger.
No he wasn't. Especially not in the actual source material. Also, overpopulation is a stupid reason to do anything because it's a myth designed by the elite to control and dominate. And that's no even gettung into the fact that Thanos' final solution wouldn't actually work and the fact that even in the MCU the Infinity gauntlet is apparently capable of at least universal reality warping where the sky is literally the limit on solving that fake problem even if it was a problem.
@Mr. Terry History, the line "I'm here to split U like 2 & 3 from 5" is a brilliant double entendre. U235 is the fissile material used to make weapons grade Uranium and U238 was used via neutron absorbion to make weapons grade PU239. Also 2 & 5 make 5 if you split 5 into 2 parts mathematically. To further elaborate on the evolution of nuclear weapons... Generation 1: Gun Type, uses 2 U235/PU239 enriched halves in a cylinder, behind each is composition 4 (C4) explosive, once detonated it hurdles both halves at incredible speeds and they cause a fission reaction when they collide. Fission Implosion Type, which is a bit different and way more complex as it uses a U238 reflector/tamper device which surrounds the PU239 "pit" and when the explosive mass in the bomb is detonated criticality is achieved via implosion, this is an EXTREMELY condensed answer as implosion bombs are considerably more complex and efficient than their "gun type" counterparts. In fact 3rd world countries could easily assemble a "gun type" nuclear weapon, the hardest part would actually be the enrichment of the U238/PU239 to weapons grade. Generation 2: Fusion Boosted Fission Weapon (Thermonuclear Device), These are incredibly complex weapons and use the Teller-Ulam fission/fusion radiation implosion method. In radiation implosion, the burst of X-ray energy coming from an exploding primary is captured and contained within an opaque-walled radiation channel which surrounds the nuclear energy components of the secondary. The radiation quickly turns the plastic foam that had been filling the channel into a plasma which is mostly transparent to X-rays, and the radiation is absorbed in the outermost layers of the pusher/tamper surrounding the secondary, which ablates and applies a massive force causing the fusion fuel capsule to implode much like the pit of the primary. As the secondary implodes a fissile "spark plug" at its center ignites and provides neutrons and heat which enable the lithium deuteride fusion fuel to produce tritium and ignite as well. The fission and fusion chain reactions exchange neutrons with each other and boost the efficiency of both reactions. The greater implosive force, enhanced efficiency of the fissile "spark plug" due to boosting via fusion neutrons, and the fusion explosion itself provide significantly greater explosive yield from the secondary despite often not being much larger than the primary. (Source: Wikipedia used for brief explanation). Generation 3: (Current Generation), developed and tested during the cold war and unlike their 1 & 2nd generation relatives that are omnidirectional, 3rd Generation are experimental special effect warheads and devices that can release energy in a focused directed manner this can make a smaller yield warhead much more destructive and even defeat some hardened nuclear bunkers such as missile silos. Not many of these weapons even exist currently, and thankfully. Generation 4: (Coming VERY SOON) These nuclear weapons are generally pure fusion weapons and antimatter-catalyzed nuclear pulse propulsion-like devices, which are being studied in depth by the top 5 nuclear capable countries, the 3 most prominent being the USA, Russia, and China. There is also a theory in testing using nanotechnology to produce miniaturized laser-triggered pure fusion weapons that would be considerably easier to produce than conventional nuclear weapon designs.

after watching the Oppenheimer video interview you mentioned in my us history class this portal by nicepeter was chillingly accurate. thanos was cringely gloating about his devastation, while Oppenheimer was destroying thanos lyrically
dear Terry, you forgot analyze one line: *- when Oppenheimer says: "... I'm here to split U like 2 like 3 from 5", he's referring to Uranium 235 (chemical symbol of Uranium is 'U'), the isotope used in the making of atomic bomb. also, that line is a math-game words, 2+3=5.*
Whenever I end a round of ERB-reaction videos, I end up here... it is so vital to watch someone actual caring and catching the amazing details ERB took the effort to put into their pieces of art. Thank you!
I have watched the original video so many times, and I stand with my opinion that Oppenheimer wins, he just has better lyrics than Thanos, and he uses both his own achievements and Thanos fails. The joke about Death swiping left, is also genius. Plus Thanos just shot himself in the foot with the Fortnite line.
I'm so glad you did this reaction. Most reactors always just analyze thanos lines cuz MCU stuff and people just take Oppenheimer at face value cuz they dont know him. So I'm glad you were able to give more thought behind Oppenheimer
for those who dont know the death swept left is a reference that thanos fell in love with the living personification of death but she did not like him back instead she fell in love with deadpool who also liked her so because thanos was a jealous prick he used the power of the infinity gauntlet to "curse" deadpool with immortality so he can never truly be with her fun fact most people dont know is that deadpool while he had a healing factor it did not get so extreme to the point where he was regenerating from nothing but blood till after he met thanos
Oppenheimer definitely won. Not only was Pete's portrayal of him bang on, he took the high road with the bars and still slayed Thanos. (Also, Oppenheimer did have throat cancer he developed from smoking, and it did kill him) {Edit: Its said he became a chain smoker after he felt the impact of what his creation could do. Also, he was put on oxygen once diagnosed with throats cancer which is why you hear the "ventilator" breathing throughout Oppenheimer's lines}
You just don't know how many times I've purposely gone into your video list to see if you reacted to this ERB yet, even though subscribed, just to see if you'd done this one yet lol
If you haven't already, you should watch the Behind The Scenes on this one. The guys apparently did a ton of research on Oppenheimer, including watching a bunch of video. While I loved the battle (always do, ERB is awesome), the insight I got from watching the BTS was pretty dope.
The "all up in your stinky" line was a reference to a theory that Ant-Man could've easily killed Thanos by shrinking, climbing into Thanos's butt, and then expanding.
4:12, I know that Dr. Manhattan is a comic book character but it’s also clever in that Dr. Oppenheimer’s efforts to create an atomic bomb were known as the Manhattan Project
Oppenheimer totally took it in my opinion. Not just in his lines, but in his demeanor, voice acting, and that thousand yard stare Nice Peter put into it...
Someone has probably said this already but the line involving "2 and 3 from 5" is pretty deep in that it is a reference to the unstable (fissionable) isotope of Uranium that is used in Nuclear weapons that has to be extracted from the common isotope U238. The extraction of this lighter isotope was and remains one of the biggest problems of obtaining fissionable material requiring the extraction of the material using teflon-lined gas centrifuges within which Uranium in the form of the incredibly dangerous Uraniumhexaflouride gas is circulated to obtain the desired isotope which is less than one percent of the mass of any sample of Uranium. Oppenheimer did die of laryngeal cancer. Oppenheimer's intelligence? The man taught himself Sanskrit so he could read the Baghavad Ghita. So yeah, he was no dummy. One of the better arguments for the use of the atomic bomb is Paul Fussell's "Thank God for the Atom Bomb and other essays." I, too, think of Oppenheimer as the victor. He at least was real.
There wouldn't be a Thanos without Oppenheimer. Thanos had to be inspired by something, regardless of how "bad" or "good" anything is or isn't as well as if people agree with said thing.

@@MrTerry It isnt necessarily educational in every since but it at least sparks interest to do research when you hear a line you dont get!!
Honestly I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about fissile material. :(
Quick Wikipedia: In nuclear engineering, fissile material is material capable of sustaining a nuclear fission chain reaction. By definition, fissile material can sustain a chain reaction with neutrons of thermal energy. The predominant neutron energy may be typified by either slow neutrons (i.e., a thermal system) or fast neutrons.
I thought it was really clever for a rap battle. Meaning he will just keep going on and on.
don't forget about the equivilent delayed criticality and prompt criticality
That line "I'm here to split U like 2&3 from 5." Pure genius. Because Uranium 235 is the Isotope used to make the atomic bomb. The Chemical symbol for Uranium on the Periodic Table is U, so splitting U 235 is literally how they made the bomb, but also 2 + 3 = 5. Oh, it works on so many levels. So brilliant.
It's so on the nose.. how is it genius? lol
Oppenheimer totally took it. His lines about "you had an evil plan, Thanos, and it left you in the dust","because in this battle there is no balance", and the final "oh snap" were the nails in the verbal coffin.
Thanos started strong but Oppenheimer was dropping those bombs on this rap battle.
Nice pun
Thanos was about as strong as a wet price of paper
Oppenheimer was almost eerie in his portrayal.
skizzik121 from everything I’ve heard he was EXTREMELY eerie
It’s eerie how they nailed the haunted look in his eyes
I would probably act the same way if I created a bomb of mass destruction.
I don't know why but I find his way of delivering the line "meanwhile I've mastered the atom more than any man alive" oddly satisfying
Ain't nobody the master of me ;)
i like these erb vids because it gives me more insight on the insults they're throwin
the fact it took a history teacher to catch the double entendre on the "Dr Manhattan" line makes me feel like a lot of people don't even know who J Robert Oppenheimer was
The Dr. Manhattan line is also a reference to how Dr. Manhattan's real name, Dr. Jon Osterman, is a obvious reference Dr. Julius Robert Oppenheimer.
I didn’t know that. (I only heard of Watchmen, I never actually read or saw it.) Though I’m not surprised by the revelation. He might have been named Dr. Manhattan in reference to the Manhattan Project
@@matityaloran9157 In the comics the name Dr. Manhattan is chosen for Osterman by the government because he was working for the Department of Energy at the time of his accident so even in the fiction it is a reference to the Manhattan Project

Belated condolences for your loss. I hope you can eventually get to a place where you smile because your teacher's classes happened and that can only happen through mourning that they stopped. But loss is like that, isn't it? Best wishes for you and yours.
Thanos lost the moment he started talking money, which, for this battle, is off topic.
The Fortnite line didn't help much either.

Ironic that a history teacher learns something new from a rap video. And yeah, despite chemotherapy, complications from throat cancer ultimately did Oppenheimer in. He was even cremated.

I love that line "U like 2 and 3 from 5"
It is such a subtle reference to Uranium 235.
"I have become death, the destroyer of worlds."
A lot of comic book references there. The Death swiping left reference and the Squirrel Girl reference slayed.
Oppenheimer won. Thanos' second verse was weak!
Thanos always starts out strong and then self-sabotages.
All of thanos' verses were pretty weak.. only good lines were the adultery line and cancer line... The rest he was talking about himself...
Yessss! I’ve been waiting so long for you to react to this. Everyone misses so much that I know that you won’t!
"You wanna talk about Death, How about the one that looked at you and swiped left"
Oof size: *large*
Because in the comics Thanos's motive for killing half the universe was to try and impress Lady Death, while in the movie it was overpopulation. Either way, he was a single father trying to use his rock collection to end universal hunger.
Should have made Fruity Pebbles then XD
No he wasn't. Especially not in the actual source material. Also, overpopulation is a stupid reason to do anything because it's a myth designed by the elite to control and dominate. And that's no even gettung into the fact that Thanos' final solution wouldn't actually work and the fact that even in the MCU the Infinity gauntlet is apparently capable of at least universal reality warping where the sky is literally the limit on solving that fake problem even if it was a problem.
VunderGuy “fictional problems require fictional solutions “
@@VunderGuy overpopulation is a myth designed by the elite to control and dominate? Okay, buddy
When ERB released this I was hoping Oppenheimer would've spit more info about the bomb but yeah guilty conscience

Oppenhymen was delivered so casually its so fucking funny
Oppenheimer for me, his portrayal/ delivery/ rhymes & flow was insane. Plus the vocal effect they used for him was genius & bars were more savage
Love the reactions dude,I love the way how you mix learning with entertainment
The number one rule of rap battles is never try and go up against someone who hates themselves more than you could possibly ever hate them. You can't win.
8 mile!
after watching the Oppenheimer video interview you mentioned in my us history class this portal by nicepeter was chillingly accurate. thanos was cringely gloating about his devastation, while Oppenheimer was destroying thanos lyrically
Oppenheimer saying Oh Snap is like dropping the mic
Yayyy I was waiting for your reaction to this, especially how they portrayed Oppenheimer! Thanks for uploading!
dear Terry, you forgot analyze one line:
*- when Oppenheimer says: "... I'm here to split U like 2 like 3 from 5", he's referring to Uranium 235 (chemical symbol of Uranium is 'U'), the isotope used in the making of atomic bomb. also, that line is a math-game words, 2+3=5.*
Jesus he is a history teacher not a chemist , take it easy on him
Ngl that intro was AWESOME
I've been waiting for this one!
Uranium has an isotope called 235
You know he’s a history teacher when he goes on about something only a little related to the topic
I caught some points where oppys breathing got heavy to as a nod to his throat cancer coming in
Who else was waiting for him to say “and why” after he asked who won lol
I really like your intro, it reminds me of the old history documentary series we used to watch in school.
Anyone notice Oppenheimer never blinked.
Watching Oppenheimer felt like a disturbing movie
Oppenheimer definitely won. Not only was Pete's portrayal of him bang on, he took the high road with the bars and still slayed Thanos. (Also, Oppenheimer did have throat cancer he developed from smoking, and it did kill him) {Edit: Its said he became a chain smoker after he felt the impact of what his creation could do. Also, he was put on oxygen once diagnosed with throats cancer which is why you hear the "ventilator" breathing throughout Oppenheimer's lines}
You just don't know how many times I've purposely gone into your video list to see if you reacted to this ERB yet, even though subscribed, just to see if you'd done this one yet lol
Awsome intro man!

"I'm here to split you like 2 and 3 from 5" that line wrecks it. Oppenheimer for the win.
One of the better arguments for the use of the atomic bomb is Paul Fussell's "Thank God for the Atom Bomb and other essays."
I, too, think of Oppenheimer as the victor. He at least was real.
OH SNAP! - I think that might be the best finishing line in ERBs so far. At least top 5. It works on several levels.
There wouldn't be a Thanos without Oppenheimer. Thanos had to be inspired by something, regardless of how "bad" or "good" anything is or isn't as well as if people agree with said thing.
