Love your videos, I just started knitting (I started with crochet) and I just kind of jumped in. But I keep finding myself referencing your videos whenever I need help. Thank You !
I crochet but I know how to knit but i do a lot of my crocheting, and then I knit? I am trying to figure out what does the tipping yard that everybody’s talking about the DK ply can I still use it for crocheting? I am trying to make a sweater for my grandson and I want to use four ply medium yarn. Can I use it?
HI, You can use any thickness of yarn to crochet. All you need is the crochet hook to match. As long as you find a pattern, or you know the stitch you want to use for a blanket or suchlike, pick your yarn, match the hook and go for it! Happy knitting/hooking! 🧶
Hello Hannah, recently i've come across a website that doing a research about the best fabric for facemask and that is 'four-ply microfiber cloth'. I have no idea what that is, could you maybe give me some clue about it?
muhammad dharmawan hi, microfibre is microscopic so it wouldn’t be knitted. It’s generally made with woven synthetic fibres, so you’ll be looking for fabric rather than yarn too. Good luck with the mask-making. 🙂
Thx Hannah.i have a men's pullover pattern requiring4ply wool.which is 42-44 inches in size. How many stitches do I cast on for 38-40in measurement..? Many thx
Hi Mytle, in your pattern you'll have different stitch counts for the different sizes. It will tell you as the instruction starts how many stitches you cast on for each size. They're usually written out with brackets: for example: 15 (17, 19, 21, 25) The first number, 15, is for the first size and the numbers in brackets are for each larger size in turn. Hope that helps, Happy Knitting!
I don’t think I’ve ever called it 4 ply before, probably because I avoid it like the plague. I’m too much of a lazy knitter and I want my projects to come together fast! 🤣

aaah! yes, the time multiplies by the plies! 4ply is a British term, I've barely ever heard it called anything else.
I guess it's like trousers and pants ;)
Can you knit an 8ply pattern with a 4ply wool ?
Hi Elaine! 8 ply yarn is also known as DK yarn, so that would be better. Or you could knit with two strands of 4 ply yarn. happy knitting!
